Chapter 271: Thunderbolt Was Still So Scared His Lion’s Body Shuddered

Chapter 271: Chapter 271: Thunderbolt Was Still So Scared His Lion’s Body Shuddered

The tour cart pulled away, but Thunderbolt’s eyes remained fixed on it.

"Renee, was Thunderbolt just saying his mate was stolen by Blaze?" Faye Wyatt asked curiously.

"That’s right." Renee nodded, quickly explaining Thunderbolt’s predicament. She smiled and added, "He’s not a fan of his new bangs."

Faye Wyatt’s brow furrowed slightly. "So what’s the plan? I can’t imagine how his mane got like that in the first place."

Renee blinked. ’Honestly, I haven’t figured that out yet.’ What she’d said earlier was just to placate Thunderbolt.

The tour cart had already left Lion Park.

After they got off the cart, an idea suddenly struck Renee. "We could use a hairdryer to blow his bangs back," she suggested, "and then set them with hair wax."

"That sounds like a good idea," Faye Wyatt said, a hint of resignation in her eyes, "but I’m not sure Thunderbolt will cooperate."

Renee gave her a slight raise of the eyebrow. "Don’t worry. I’ll be his personal stylist. You guys just need to get the tools for me."

"Oh, that’s wonderful." A smile instantly bloomed on Faye Wyatt’s face. She turned and told Carol Morgan to go get the necessary equipment.

The zoo had hairdryers and high-capacity portable power banks on hand, but the hair wax would have to be bought from a store outside.

Thunderbolt kept staring in the direction the tour cart had gone. He’d been waiting for a while and was starting to get agitated. He furrowed his brow, though it was hidden beneath his bangs.

’It’s been so long. Why hasn’t that human come back yet?’

"Mommy, why isn’t that lion with the bangs moving?"

"Daddy, is that a stone lion?"

A few children, noticing that Thunderbolt hadn’t moved a muscle, started clamoring curiously.

"Hey, another tour cart is going in!"

"Why is the animal consultant going back in? Is the lion with the bangs sick?"

"..."

The tourists began to buzz with discussion.

Thunderbolt, the so-called "stone lion," finally stirred when he saw the tour cart reappear. He bounded over to it excitedly.

"You’re finally here!" Thunderbolt roared, a hint of grievance in his voice. "I was starting to think you weren’t coming back!"

Renee got out of the cart and walked up to him, smiling. "I already gave you my word. How could I not come back?"

"My mistake!" Thunderbolt asked expectantly. "What tools did you bring to help me with my hairstyle?"

"A hairdryer." Renee studied Thunderbolt’s bangs and explained, "It’s the way your mane falls over your forehead that looks odd. I’m going to blow it back, then use some hair wax to hold it in place."

Although Thunderbolt didn’t know what bangs, a hairdryer, or hair wax were, he was sure this human could help him.

He nodded his huge head, his two large, amber eyes gazing at Renee with absolute trust. "Are you going to start now?"

"I can," Renee agreed with a smile. "Find a good spot to sit."

Hearing this, Thunderbolt glanced at Renee’s height, then surveyed his surroundings. He finally padded over to a large boulder. "Human, will this work?"

Renee, hairdryer in hand, looked over at the sound of his voice and raised an eyebrow.

Thunderbolt explained, "This way, you can stand on the rock to do my hair."

’He’s surprisingly considerate,’ Renee thought, but she had another idea. "Thunderbolt, could you be a gentleman and lower your noble head for me?"

Thunderbolt didn’t understand the word "gentleman," but he certainly knew what "noble" meant.

He was quite pleased to hear it. "Human, are you complimenting me?"

"Yes." Renee walked toward him, hairdryer and portable power bank in hand. She explained the meaning of "gentleman" and then asked with a smile, "So, would you be willing to be a gentleman for me?"

Thunderbolt agreed enthusiastically. "Of course! I’d love to!"

"Thank you for your cooperation, Gentleman Thunderbolt." Renee showed him the hairdryer. "This is one of the tools for your new hairstyle. It’s called a hairdryer. When I turn it on, it will blow air and make a noise. Be ready, and don’t let it startle you."

"It’s that amazing?" Thunderbolt stared at the hairdryer, his eyes full of curiosity.

Renee flicked the switch. Hot air WHOOSHED out, accompanied by a low WHIRRING sound.

Even though he was prepared, Thunderbolt’s massive body still flinched in surprise. The viewing platform instantly erupted with laughter.

Thunderbolt didn’t realize the tourists were laughing at him. He tried to save face in front of Renee. "Oh, my! That sound just makes you want to dance, you know? I almost got up and started dancing just now."

Renee’s eyes filled with amusement. "You can dance?" she asked, feigning surprise.

"Of course," Thunderbolt said proudly. "I have many talents."

"Impressive," Renee said with a raised eyebrow. "The multi-talented Gentleman Thunderbolt."

As she finished speaking, she turned the hairdryer on again.

Having already been startled once, Thunderbolt was startled again, and his huge frame gave another shudder.

"Did you see that?" Thunderbolt said, his voice lacking conviction. "I felt the urge to dance again!"

"It’s okay. You’ll get used to it after a few more times," Renee said, holding the hairdryer in front of Thunderbolt. "Time to do your hair. Are you ready?"

"Ready!" Thunderbolt exclaimed excitedly.

"What’s going on? Who is that girl? How dare she stand right in front of a lion?"

"She doesn’t have any protective gear. Isn’t she going to be mauled?"

"My god, does that woman have a death wish?"

"Is she trying to copy that girl from Tiger Park?"

The tourists in the viewing area chattered excitedly.

Renee had already switched on the hairdryer and started blow-drying Thunderbolt’s bangs.

It was probably Thunderbolt’s first time encountering a hairdryer; he was both nervous and curious. The blasts of air hit his eyes several times, startling him so much that he squeezed them shut and didn’t dare to open them again.

"Daddy, the lion isn’t scary at all! Look how good he’s being!"

"I want to blow-dry the lion’s hair too!"

Hearing their children, the parents got scared and quickly explained just how dangerous lions are.

"That lady isn’t an ordinary person. She must be a Beast Tamer, which is why the lion is so well-behaved for her. If a normal person stood in front of a lion, they’d be eaten in a single bite."

"No wonder she looks so familiar! She’s the beautiful woman who was riding the tiger over at Tiger Park!"

"See, I told you! No ordinary person would dare do that!"

"Is that lady giving the lion a makeover?"

"This is hilarious!"

Word that a lion was getting a new hairdo spread like wildfire through the park. Tourists swarmed into Lion Park like a tidal wave, packing the viewing platform so tightly you couldn’t have squeezed a fly through the crowd.

Renee ran her fingers through Thunderbolt’s coarse, slightly greasy mane, working hard to blow-dry his bangs into a slicked-back style.

Her arm, holding the hairdryer up, was starting to ache, so she stopped to take a break.

When the sound of the hairdryer stopped, Thunderbolt secretly cracked open one eye. "Is it done yet?"

"Not yet." Renee shook her arm out. "Your mane is so thick and coarse, it’s taking a while. My arm got sore, so I’m taking a little break."

"Oh, I see." Thunderbolt glanced up. It seemed he couldn’t see his bangs anymore. He roared with delight, "Human, it looks like your method is working!"
