The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 346: Vincent Morgan Also Sensed Renee Jennings’s Arrival

Chapter 346: Chapter 346: Vincent Morgan Also Sensed Renee Jennings’s Arrival

Only after hearing what Cecilia said did the owner realize she was the one stirring up trouble!

He was filled with regret. If he’d known this couple was so dramatic, he never would have taken her golden chinchilla.

The owner, sweating profusely, did his best to remain calm. "Folks, friends, we can talk this over. Why don’t we sit down and have a nice, calm chat?"

"Want to chat? We can do that." Zachary Conway stepped forward and produced a pair of silver handcuffs. "At the station."

The owner’s legs gave out, and he collapsed to the floor.

The owner and the receptionist were led away in a police car. Cecilia and Rio opened the carrier, lifted Bella out, and the three of them—two people and a cat—dissolved into a tearful embrace.

Michelle Fuller was moved beyond words. "Waaah... I can’t imagine if someone stole Ginny..."

Renee Jennings reached out and stroked her head. "That won’t happen. Don’t worry."

"True." Michelle turned and hugged her. "With you here, nobody could ever steal Ginny."

Once she’d composed herself, Cecilia approached Renee Jennings, still holding Bella. "Miss Jennings, thank you so, so much!"

Rio said to Bella, "Bella, she’s our savior. Go on, thank our savior."

Bella obediently meowed, "Thank you, savior!"

"You’re welcome, Bella." A faint smile curved Renee Jennings’s lips. "We also need to head to the station to give our statements."

**

"Renee Jennings, wait." Henry Stark hurried out to stop her.

Renee Jennings and Michelle Fuller, who were just about to leave the police station, stopped in their tracks.

She glanced back, one eyebrow slightly arched. "Yes?"

"Yes," Henry Stark said with a slight nod. "A word."

Renee looked over at Michelle, but before she could speak, Michelle was already shooing her away. "Go on, go on. I’ll figure out where we should eat."

"Then have a seat over here." Renee led her to her own desk—a space that had only recently been cleared out for her. Previously, whenever she came, she had to stay in the conference room.

"Go on, do your thing." Michelle waved her off, already engrossed in scrolling through restaurant recommendations.

After Renee left, Zachary Conway slowly peeked his head around a corner. "Hey."

Michelle looked up at the sound of his voice. "Hello there."

With that, her eyes were already back on her phone screen.

"Cake?" Zachary Conway asked, holding out a small slice.

Michelle was about to refuse, but she suddenly felt a pang of hunger. After a moment’s hesitation, she reached for it. "Thank you."

"You’re welcome," Zachary Conway said, then asked, "Coffee?"

Michelle shook her head. "I’m good."

Zachary Conway: "Then what would you like to drink?"

"Just a glass of water, please."

"Got it."

Zachary Conway eagerly scurried off and returned with two glasses of water. "Warm water and cold water. Which do you prefer?"

"The cold one."

"This one’s cold." Zachary Conway handed her the cold glass and took a sip from the warm one himself.

He took a couple of sips, then cast about for something else to say. "If I’m not mistaken, your name is Michelle Fuller, right?"

"You’re not mistaken," Michelle said with confidence. "But I honestly can’t remember your name at all."

Zachary Conway: "..."

’What a heartless woman.’

"I’m Zachary Conway. Can you remember that?"

Michelle blinked, a playful smile gracing her lips. "I’ll do my best."

"Or..." Zachary Conway leaned in a little closer, lowering his voice. "How about we add each other on WeChat? You can save my name, and then you’ll remember it next time."

"Add you on WeChat?" Michelle asked.

Zachary Conway asked tentatively, "Yeah. Is that okay?"

"Sure." Michelle switched over to WeChat. "My code or yours?"

"I’ll scan yours," Zachary Conway said, whipping out his phone.

He watched as Michelle accepted the friend request, his heart soaring.

They had just become WeChat friends when Renee emerged.

"Michelle, we can go."

"Let’s roll." Michelle grabbed her bag and stood up, waving at Zachary Conway. "Bye!"

"See you next time." Zachary Conway watched the two of them leave. He went back to his desk and sat down, and two hands suddenly clapped onto his shoulders.

From his left, Kyle Morgan said, "Zachary, you’re acting suspicious."

From his right, Levi Hollis added, "Zachary, let’s have a chat."

Sawyer stood up from the desk across from him, sipping his tea. "You know, I’m pretty fond of Michelle myself."

Zachary Conway: "..."

He pressed his lips together, feigning composure. "We just added each other on WeChat. Is this really necessary?"

"’Warm water and cold water. Which do you prefer?’" Kyle Morgan mimicked his earlier peacocking. "Zachary Conway, an act like this is nothing short of a betrayal to our team!"

Levi Hollis looked utterly heartbroken. "We were all enjoying the single life together. Why are you suddenly trying to break ranks?"

Sawyer shook his head in disappointment. "Unbelievable. Just unbelievable!"

Zachary Conway: "...Seriously? All I did was add her on WeChat!"

"You think we just met?" Kyle Morgan’s hands fell on his shoulders. "We know what you’re up to the moment you make a move."

Zachary Conway: "..."

’These guys were practically mind readers!’

Zachary Conway’s eyes darted around, and he retorted, "Why aren’t you guys talking about the chief? Aren’t his feelings for Renee Jennings even more obvious?"

"And what feelings would those be?" A low, unreadable voice came from directly above his head.

Zachary Conway’s heart seized. He squeezed his eyes shut in frustration before turning around with a guilty laugh. "Chief, I was just joking."

Henry Stark’s expression was frigid. "And was it funny?"

Zachary Conway: "N-no, not funny at all..."

Henry Stark didn’t reply, simply turning and walking away.

Zachary Conway clutched his chest, letting out a breath he didn’t realize he’d been holding. He then shot an irritated glare at Kyle Morgan and Levi Hollis. "You two nearly got me killed!"

Michelle was still agonizing over what to eat, so Renee finally decided to take her to that steakhouse Faye Wyatt had treated her to. She also called Sylvia Brooks and invited her to join.

They hadn’t made a reservation, and the restaurant was full when they arrived. But as luck would have it, a party had just canceled.

"We’re so lucky today!" Michelle said, linking her arm through Renee’s. "It’s like we were fated to eat here."

Renee wasn’t sure about being fated to eat at the restaurant, but she definitely seemed to have a fateful connection with the Morgan family.

Seated at the table right next to the one that had just opened up were Zoe Morgan, Yvonne Morgan, and Vincent Morgan.

Renee shot them a single glance before averting her eyes and sitting down with Michelle.

Zoe Morgan hadn’t expected to run into Renee Jennings today of all days. She had made a point of inviting Vincent and Yvonne out for this meal.

Now that Renee was here, it looked like their meal was ruined.

Her brow furrowed slightly as she suggested, "Yvonne, Vincent, why don’t we go somewhere else? We haven’t ordered yet."

Yvonne Morgan pursed her lips, saying nothing, her eyes shifting to her brother.

Vincent Morgan had also noticed Renee’s arrival, and he couldn’t help but feel a flicker of delight.

He’d been rejected the last time he called to ask Renee out. Now that such a perfect opportunity had presented itself, how could he possibly agree to go somewhere else?

"There’s no need, Auntie." Vincent’s voice was laced with amusement. "I think this place is great. You picked a wonderful spot, Auntie."

For a moment, Zoe Morgan was at a loss for words. She turned her gaze to Yvonne.
