Chapter 356: Chapter 356: Owen Will Also Help with the Baby
Hearing the kitten on the screen, Blossom murmured, "Art... you have a new name now."
She looked at Art on the screen. "Congratulations. I’m so happy for you."
The orange cat also sidled up to the screen. "Everyone, I have a new name, too! I’m called Sunny now, and my owner is Cola. She says Sunny and Cola are the perfect pair!"
"Oh, so that’s why." Blossom nodded earnestly. "That sounds lovely."
Badger chimed in, "Hee hee, I’ve got a new name, too."
Sunny asked curiously, "Badger, what’s your name now?"
Badger said, "Phyllis gave me a new name, FiveTwoPear. She says it sounds like ’I love you’ in her language, and I really love it!"
"FiveTwoPear is such a great name!" Art exclaimed in praise. "FiveTwoPear, I love you! Your owner is so romantic!"
"So why did your owner name you Art?" Sunny asked, ever the curious kitten.
Art said smugly, "My owner says I’m a proud little princess, a real work of art. That’s why she named me Art."
"That’s perfect." Approval was written all over FiveTwoPear’s fluffy face. "You really are a little princess."
Seeing her friends so happy, Blossom felt a genuine joy for them from the bottom of her heart.
’They’ve all found owners they love. How wonderful.’
"Seeing you all so happy puts my mind at ease," Blossom meowed softly.
Renee lowered her gaze and gently stroked the cat’s head.
Hearing this, the cats on the call all turned the conversation to Blossom.
Sunny asked, "By the way, Blossom, has Renee been looking for an owner for you lately?"
Art added, "Blossom, you should hurry and find a new owner! Having one is the best!"
FiveTwoPear asked, "Blossom, what are you planning to do?"
Blossom blinked, affecting a casual tone. "I don’t think I’m going to look for an owner. I like it here with Renee."
"What?" Art cried out, pressing his face right up to the phone screen. "Why not?"
"Blossom, why don’t you want to find an owner?" Sunny and FiveTwoPear asked, equally shocked.
Blossom explained, "I just really like it here with Renee. I don’t want to go anywhere else."
’A new owner might give me a wonderful life, but I just can’t get excited about the idea.’
’Besides, I have Blueberry, Cici, and Pudding to play with here.’
She recalled how gloomy she’d been the past few days, missing her friends, and how Blueberry and the others had come to comfort her. A wave of belated emotion washed over Blossom.
She turned to look at Blueberry, Cici, and Pudding perched on Renee’s shoulders and said with a choked voice, "Thank you all."
Blueberry tilted his head. "What are you thanking us for?"
"I’m a little confused, too," said Pudding.
Cici added, "I don’t know what you’re thanking us for, Blossom, but... you’re welcome!"
Blossom turned back and waved a paw at the screen. "Sunny, Art, FiveTwoPear, I hope you have happy lives with your new owners. Goodbye!"
With that, she leaped from Renee’s arms onto the stone table, her wide, round eyes fixed on the three cats on Renee’s shoulders.
"Blueberry, Pudding, Cici, want to go play hide-and-seek?"
Renee’s lips curled into a smile. ’Cats playing hide-and-seek. How fitting,’ she thought.
Blueberry thought to himself, ’Seeing her three friends was better than any medicine. Blossom came right back to life the moment she saw them.’
The three cats didn’t refuse Blossom’s invitation, leaping one after another from Renee’s shoulders.
The other three cats on the video call still looked confused.
"How come Blossom isn’t talking anymore?"
"Why doesn’t Blossom want a new owner...?"
"I want to play hide-and-seek with Blossom, too."
Just then, Peanut spoke up. "Renee, could you ask Art for me if he’s happy here? And if there’s anything I’m doing wrong that I should change...?"

「On Wednesday, Michelle Fuller asked Renee Jennings out for afternoon tea.」
The tea spot was close to Mr. Fuller’s house, so the two of them decided to stop by his place first to visit him and Green Hat.
Renee casually invited Mr. Fuller to join them, not expecting him to actually agree.
When Green Hat saw that Mr. Fuller was leaving with Renee, it kicked up a huge fuss, wanting to go along. It took quite a bit of coaxing from Renee to finally calm it down.
The drive from Mr. Fuller’s house to the tea shop took only ten minutes.
The restaurant overlooked the river, and Michelle had booked the table with the best view the day before.
Sunlight poured down, making the surface of the water shimmer beautifully.
"Grandpa, would you like coffee or tea?" Michelle asked, sitting down beside him.
Mr. Fuller had actually brought his own thermos, but not wanting to be a wet blanket, he studied the menu carefully before pointing to a cup of Mi Lan Xiang. "I’ll have this one."
"Okay." After adding it to the order, Michelle asked, "Do you want any snacks or desserts?"
Mr. Fuller chose an avocado and crab tartare. "Alright, that’s enough for me. Go ask Renee what she’d like."
"Okay." Michelle stood up and moved to sit beside Renee.
After they ordered, she took a few photos of her grandfather, then handed the phone to Renee. "Renee, could you take a picture of Grandpa and me?"
Renee took the phone and snapped a few shots. "See what you think."
"Perfect!" Michelle gave her a thumbs-up.
Mr. Fuller chuckled. "Let’s ask the waitress to take a photo of the three of us. I want to post it on my social media today."
"Great idea!" Michelle immediately waved a waitress over.
Right after they took the photos, their afternoon tea arrived.
The three of them chatted as they enjoyed the food, a cool breeze from the river occasionally drifting past. It was pleasant and comfortable.
But the tranquil atmosphere was soon shattered by a series of piercing barks.
The other diners were startled, and everyone turned to see where the noise was coming from.
Michelle paused mid-sip, her eyes lighting up as she looked at Renee. "Renee, what’s that dog barking about?"
Mr. Fuller knew Renee could understand animals, so he was unfazed.
The expression on Renee’s face grew visibly grim. Her lips barely moved as she whispered, "It’s saying, ’No, I won’t let you! You’re a bad person!’"
Michelle met her grave expression and blinked. "Looks like we’ve got a situation."
"I think so," Renee replied with a slight nod. "Let’s keep listening."
The dog’s owner, likely afraid of disturbing the other patrons, quickly tried to quiet her pet.
"Owen, that’s not a good boy. Mommy’s going to get angry," a young woman with flawless makeup, dressed head-to-toe in designer brands, gently chided her golden retriever. "Quiet down. You can’t disturb everyone."
Owen quieted down after being scolded, but his front paws remained firmly planted on the baby stroller, refusing to move.
Seeing this, the young woman teased with a mix of amusement and helplessness, "Oh, you. You’re just like a little nanny."
A middle-aged woman beside her chuckled. "Owen is the most amazing dog I’ve ever seen."
Owen shot her a disdainful look.
"He is," the young woman agreed with a smile. "Owen is very smart."
Her friend said with envy, "Owen even helps look after the baby. He’s incredible."
