The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 360: Preparing to Fight for the Inheritance with a Child

Chapter 360: Chapter 360: Preparing to Fight for the Inheritance with a Child

Late at night, Lydia Lawson received another message from a new buyer, asking if she had any "high-end goods." Price wasn’t an issue.

As long as he could close a deal on some high-end goods soon, he was willing to pay any price.

Lydia Lawson knew instantly. This new buyer had to be some rich fool who couldn’t have a son.

But she was currently tied up with this family, leaving her no way to find high-end goods for this sucker.

Perhaps because Lydia Lawson had taken too long to reply, the other party sent another message.

[If you can’t do it, I’ll find someone else. Don’t waste my time. My family’s old man can’t wait much longer!]

Lydia Lawson immediately caught the hidden meaning in that sentence.

’It must be some rich family whose patriarch is about to die, and the children and grandchildren are planning to use a child to fight for the inheritance!’

’No, I can’t miss this golden opportunity to make some money.’

After thinking it over, Lydia Lawson decided to refer the sucker to someone else and collect a finder’s fee.

She quickly replied: [Don’t be anxious. I’m swamped with business lately. How about I refer someone to you and have her make arrangements as soon as possible?]

Buyer: [ASAP.]

Lydia Lawson took a burner phone from a drawer in her closet and dialed one of the numbers in her contacts.

After a few rings, a woman’s charming voice came through. "What’s up?"

"I want to introduce a buyer to you," Lydia Lawson said in a low voice. "But when the deal is done, you have to give me a thirty-percent cut."

"Thirty percent?" The woman scoffed. "Are you dreaming? The rules were set long ago. Twenty percent, max."

Lydia Lawson said hurriedly, "This buyer is different. He’s in a huge rush, and he needs these high-end goods to fight over an inheritance. You can take the chance to fleece him. Giving me thirty percent won’t be a loss for you."

"Are you sure?" The woman on the other end sounded a little skeptical.

Lydia Lawson’s tone was certain. "Positive! Eliza, I’ll be honest with you. If I wasn’t so tied up, I would never pass such a good opportunity on to you."

"Send me the number. I’ll get in touch," Eliza said, her interest piqued.

"Sending it now." Lydia Lawson hung up and sent the new buyer’s contact information to Eliza.

Meanwhile, in her bedroom, Tori Lynn stared at her phone screen, watching Lydia Lawson’s every move.

Although she didn’t understand their industry slang, she could guess what "high-end goods" meant.

Her expression cold, Tori Lynn copied this segment and sent it to Renee Jennings’s WeChat: [Miss Jennings, she has another, smaller phone she’s using to contact other animals like her.]

Renee Jennings replied instantly: [Miss Lynn, find a way to get both of her phones. I’m going to ask about the police arrangements now.]

Tori Lynn: [Okay!]

She switched back to the surveillance app and memorized the location where Lydia Lawson had put the burner phone.

Tori Lynn thought for a moment, then turned to look at Owen, who was lying lazily on the carpet.

As if sensing her gaze, Owen tilted his head and stared at her, letting out a low woof. ’Mom, why are you looking at me like that?’

Tori Lynn walked over to Owen, crouched in front of him, and stroked his head. "Owen, I have a job for you that might be a little unpleasant."

She couldn’t understand what Owen was saying, but that didn’t matter. As long as he could understand her, it was fine.

Owen tilted his head in confusion. ’Huh? What is it?’

The next day, Tori Lynn gave Lydia Lawson some money and sent her out to buy things.

Because she could skim off the top, Lydia Lawson quite enjoyed running these kinds of easy errands.

Tori Lynn arranged for the driver to take Lydia Lawson, then led Owen into her room.

She easily found the burner phone Lydia Lawson had hidden. After putting it in her pocket, she turned to Owen. "Owen, it’s your time to shine."

Owen had no experience in tearing up a house, but he had a natural talent for it. In no time, he had turned Lydia Lawson’s room into a total mess.

He looked back at Tori Lynn, mouth open in a grin as if asking for praise. ’Mom, was I amazing?’

Tori Lynn sensed his pride and said with a smile, "Owen, you were great."

The girl and her dog turned and left.

Tori Lynn immediately sent the good news to Renee Jennings: [Miss Jennings, I’ve got the SIM card. The phone itself should be taken care of soon.]

Lydia Lawson picked through the items at a gourmet supermarket, buying over a thousand yuan worth of goods and planning to report it as two thousand.

On the way back, the driver stopped the car by the river and turned to ask, "Jean, my phone’s out of credit. Can you top it up for me? Or let me borrow your phone to make a call, and I’ll have someone top it up for me."

This was the script Tori Lynn had given him.

Lydia Lawson was greedy as hell. Afraid the driver wouldn’t pay her back, she would rather lend him her phone to make a call than agree to top up his credit.

Just as Tori Lynn had predicted, she chose the latter.

"I don’t have any money in my WeChat," Lydia Lawson said. "I can just lend you my phone to make a call."

"Okay, thanks, Jean." The driver thanked her, took the phone, and dialed a number. "Hello, it’s me."

Lydia Lawson rummaged through her shopping bags and opened a bag of snacks to eat.

"What? Who am I?" the driver suddenly yelled. "Are you crazy? You can’t even recognize my voice?"

After yelling, he turned back, made an apologetic gesture to Lydia Lawson, and then pointed outside the car.

As he opened the car door to get out, Lydia Lawson said unhappily, "Don’t talk for too long. Five minutes, max. If you go over, I’m charging you."

The car door shut with a SLAM.

The driver stood by the river, clutching the phone and screaming hysterically. The people fishing nearby looked on in utter exasperation.

Lydia Lawson saw the driver stomping his feet, looking like he was about to scream his throat raw.

’Psycho.’

She rolled her eyes. When she looked back, she saw the driver hurl the phone into the river.

Lydia Lawson froze for a second. When she realized the driver had thrown *her* phone, she frantically dropped her snacks, threw open the car door, and rushed out.

She ran to the guardrail and scanned the river’s surface, then whipped her head around to snarl at him, "Are you sick in the head? That was my phone! Why did you throw my phone away?"

The driver’s eyes went wide, his mouth agape in a shocked and exaggerated expression. "Oh, right! That was your phone!"

He quickly apologized. "Jean, I’m so sorry! I was so worked up just now that I forgot..."

"What the hell good is sorry? I just got that new phone the year before last!" Lydia Lawson glared at him, her eyes menacing. "I’m telling you, you have to pay me back for this phone!"

The driver immediately started playing the victim. "Jean, you know my situation. My salary goes straight to my wife’s card. I only get two hundred yuan a month for spending money."

"What the hell does that have to do with me!" Lydia Lawson jabbed a finger at his nose, fuming. "This isn’t over!"

All the way back to the Doyle family’s house, Lydia Lawson’s mouth never stopped, berating the driver and poking the back of his head nonstop.

"What happened?" Tori Lynn asked, seeing her storm into the living room with a dark expression.

"Tori, you have to stand up for me on this! Archer..." Lydia Lawson launched into an embellished account of how the driver had thrown her phone into the river.
