Chapter 474: Fanny and I Are College Classmates

Chapter 474: Chapter 474: Fanny and I Are College Classmates

"What’s wrong?" Renee Jennings noticed Bonnie and Layla’s gazes and raised an eyebrow. "You want to try some too?"

The two little ones nodded at the same time.

Seeing this, Jude Sherman said helplessly, "You probably won’t like this tea, and it’s not really for you, but I suppose you can have a taste."

If she didn’t let them try, they might think the humans were keeping something delicious from them.

She got two disposable cups, poured a tiny bit of tea into each, and handed them over only after it had cooled.

Bonnie and Layla were full of anticipation, holding the cups and tilting their heads back to drink.

But upon tasting the tea, they both frowned.

"Does yours taste good?" Bonnie asked.

Layla shook her head. "It’s not good. It’s not fragrant."

Bonnie took another sip. "Mine isn’t fragrant either."

"Then why did Renee say it was so fragrant?" Layla couldn’t figure it out.

"Yeah, Renee, why did you say it was fragrant?" Bonnie asked, looking at Renee Jennings in confusion.

"Because we like to eat different things." Renee Jennings took the cups from their hands, tucked a grape between her knuckles, and said with a smile, "You should just stick to your fruit."

Bonnie took a bite of a grape and nodded vigorously. "Fruit is much tastier."

The smile on Renee Jennings’s lips deepened as her gaze returned to Jude Sherman’s face.

"Director Stone..." She recounted what she had learned, her brow furrowing slightly. "Sasha is rather headstrong and stubborn. I’ve tried communicating with her, but it doesn’t seem to be working."

"Is that so." The smile on Jude Sherman’s face vanished, her expression turning serious. "Sasha’s situation is indeed quite severe."

Renee Jennings said softly, "I don’t think they’re suited to live together for the time being. Sasha will probably keep bullying Layla and Bonnie."

She glanced at the two little ones who were absorbed in eating fruit. "They’re too naive. They’re no match for Sasha."

"I understand." Jude Sherman nodded in agreement. "I’ll discuss this with the others later and see how we can resolve this problem."

"Alright." Renee Jennings gave a slight nod. "We’ll go tour the zoo then. If you need any other help, just contact me."

"How about I have Hilary show you around?" Jude Sherman said with a smile. "We can have dinner together after I get off work, and I can show you all the sights of Lyris."

"Okay." Renee Jennings’s lips curved into a smile. "In that case, we’ll take you up on that."

"Please, don’t be. It’s my honor." Jude Sherman raised a hand to her mouth as if to share a secret. "Actually, Faye and I were college classmates."

Hearing this, Renee Jennings raised her eyebrows in surprise. "You and Faye were college classmates? What a coincidence."

Jude Sherman laughed. "Yes. I saw the photo of you all she posted on her Moments feed. I was a little jealous, actually. Tonight, it’ll be my turn to post."

Renee Jennings said softly, "You’re too kind, Director Stone. There’s nothing to be jealous of."

"Anyone in our line of work would definitely be jealous."

"Well, we can chat more tonight then. We won’t disturb your work any longer," Renee Jennings said, standing up. "My friends and I will go look around the zoo for now."

"Great. We’ll have a good long chat tonight." Jude Sherman walked them to the door and noticed Bonnie and Layla were trying to follow. "You two stay here and wait for your keeper to pick you up."

Hilary had already contacted Brother Gus to come get them.

As if they hadn’t heard the director, Bonnie and Layla trotted along right behind Renee Jennings and the others.

"Stop, you two." Hilary blocked their path. "Go back to the director’s office and wait for Brother Gus to get you."

"No, no," Bonnie said, shaking her head. "I want to go with Renee, Sister Michelle, and Brother Chris!"

Layla chimed in, "Me too!"

Hilary didn’t understand and looked to Renee Jennings for help. "Ms. Jennings, what are they saying?"

Renee Jennings pressed her lips together to hide a smile and asked, "Would it be alright for Bonnie and Layla to tour the zoo with us? They want to come play."

Hilary let out a surprised "Ah!" and turned to look at Jude Sherman. "Is that okay?"

Jude Sherman thought for a moment and agreed. "That’s fine. You can take them for now. We’ll figure out what to do with them after our meeting."

So, Renee Jennings and her friends toured the park with two orangutans in tow, attracting the attention of many visitors along the way.

Some people even recognized Bonnie and Layla.

"Huh, aren’t those the little orangutans from the Orangutan Pavilion?"

"What’s going on? How are you allowed to take them out?"

"Is that Bonnie and Layla? Can I hold one?"

Some visitors also recognized Renee Jennings.

"Hey, are you Renee Jennings?"

"Whoa, I’m seeing Host Jennings in the flesh!"

"Oh my god, I’m so lucky! Host, you’re the best!"

Bonnie wasn’t used to much contact with humans, so seeing so many visitors crowd around, she tensed up and shrank into Renee Jennings’s arms.

Sensing her reaction, Renee Jennings soothed her in a gentle voice, "Don’t be scared, Bonnie. All these people really like you. They won’t hurt you."

Bonnie timidly peeked at the visitors out of the corner of her eye and whispered, "Really?"

"Really," Renee Jennings said with a light chuckle. "Most people who come to the zoo are curious about the animal world and truly love it."

After saying that, she introduced them to the crowd. "Hello everyone, this is Bonnie, and this is Layla."

"Bonnie is so cute when she’s shy!"

"Bonnie, can we take a picture with you?"

"Layla’s a natural in front of the camera!"

"Layla, look over here~"

Layla was used to interacting with visitors, so she cooperatively struck a pose for the cameras.

Bonnie watched her, her dark, round eyes filled with a mix of envy and admiration.

’This is great! Layla’s amazing!’

Renee Jennings smiled and encouraged her, "Bonnie, you try too. Just like Layla."

Bonnie’s knuckles curled slightly as she said nervously, "I... I don’t dare."

"Why not? You’re so cute, everyone loves you."

"But..."

A few of the visitors had come over because of Renee Jennings and knew about Bonnie’s situation in the Orangutan Pavilion. Seeing her shrink timidly into Renee’s arms, they started calling her name.

"Bonnie’s so cute! Look at the camera!"

"Aww, I really love Bonnie so much!"

"Dear Bonnie, look over here, let me take a few pictures of you."

Hearing the visitors’ calls, Bonnie cautiously looked over.

Everyone’s faces were beaming with gentle, kind smiles.

As if sensing their goodwill, Bonnie tried lifting her hand and giving a little wave.

"Whoa! So cute!"

"I didn’t expect Bonnie to be such a natural in front of the camera too!"

"So pretty! Bonnie is super pretty~~"

Amidst the chorus of praise, Bonnie found her confidence. The corners of her mouth turned up slightly, her movements gradually became bolder, and her eyes sparkled.

Watching this unfold, a look of relief appeared in Renee Jennings’s eyes.

Hilary’s eyes reddened, her heart filled with emotion.

Her Bonnie was getting so much better.

It was wonderful.

By the end of their zoo tour, Bonnie had unexpectedly gained quite a few fans.

Renee Jennings also took photos with many of the visitors who recognized her.

「The sun quietly dipped toward the west, painting half the sky in orange clouds.」
