The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 538: Afraid to Sleep Alone at Night

Chapter 538: Chapter 538: Afraid to Sleep Alone at Night

Sean Fuller grinned, happy to stir the pot. "Sharon, I was just telling Renee, the last time my sister tried to cook, she nearly blew up the kitchen."

"Is that so?" Sylvia Brooks raised an eyebrow. "In that case, I’d better eat my fill of this meal, and we shouldn’t let Michelle cook next time."

Renee Jennings and Sean Fuller nodded enthusiastically, saying in unison, "Agreed."

After making four dishes, Michelle Fuller was tactfully asked to leave the kitchen by Uncle Archer and Uncle Lee.

"Miss Fuller, Miss Jennings and Miss Brooks are here. You can leave the kitchen to us."

"Yes, yes, Miss Fuller, you should go chat with your friends."

Michelle Fuller hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, then. I’ll leave it to you."

"Don’t you worry, Miss Fuller."

"Okay."

The dining table was soon filled with steaming hot, delicious food.

"Braised pork ribs, scrambled eggs with shrimp, stir-fried lettuce slices, and stir-fried pork with green peppers—these are my creations," Michelle Fuller announced, presenting the four dishes she had made.

Though the four dishes looked rather ordinary, they were very popular—after all, Michelle Fuller had put her heart and soul into making them.

Unexpectedly, this gave Michelle Fuller the wrong impression. ’Everyone loves my cooking so much! I guess I should cook more often!’

After dinner, everyone was sitting on the garden terrace drinking coffee when Sean Fuller suddenly suggested, "Want to go see a movie at a private cinema? A friend of mine opened one."

Michelle Fuller blinked and looked at Renee Jennings and Sylvia Brooks. "Should we go?"

"I’m good with whatever," Renee replied.

"Me too," said Sylvia.

Michelle Fuller slapped her thigh. "Alright then, let’s go!"

"I’ll be the driver," Sean Fuller offered eagerly.

"Of course you’re the driver," Michelle Fuller huffed. "You don’t expect us to drive you, do you?"

"I wouldn’t dare, I wouldn’t dare," Sean Fuller said.

The group walked to the parking area, where he eagerly pulled open the car door and made a welcoming gesture. "My three lovely ladies, please get in."

**

「The Private Cinema.」

Sean Fuller had just parked the car when someone came out to greet them.

"Sean." A man with a buzz cut, wearing a black shirt, walked out with a smile. "You’re here."

"These three are my ’sisters’—Sister Michelle, Renee, and Sharon," Sean Fuller introduced them. "This is Charles Lockwood."

Charles Lockwood smiled and greeted them, "Sister Michelle, Renee, Sharon, hello. Thank you so much for coming."

"Charles Lockwood... Aren’t you the guy who got into a fight with Hank in middle school?" Michelle Fuller’s eyes lit up slightly.

Sean Fuller and Charles Lockwood both looked surprised, probably not expecting Michelle Fuller to remember that incident.

"Sis, you actually remember that?"

"Sister Michelle has an amazing memory."

Michelle Fuller tilted her head back and laughed. "Didn’t you two trade threats back then, saying you’d never speak to each other again as long as you lived?"

"Ah, that was just us being young and reckless," Sean Fuller said with an embarrassed smile.

Charles Lockwood smiled. "Yeah, Sean and I are good friends now."

"Alright, alright, let’s not bring up the past," Michelle Fuller said, nodding and making a zipping motion across her lips.

Sean Fuller breathed a sigh of relief. "Let’s head inside, then."

Charles Lockwood raised a hand in a welcoming gesture. "This way, ladies."

A heavy, solid wood door was pushed open, revealing a softly lit interior. The first thing that caught the eye was a projection screen that took up an entire wall. The floor was covered with a thick carpet, and a small bar was set up in one corner, its glass cabinet filled with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Charles Lockwood walked behind the bar to personally serve them. "What would you ladies like to drink?"

"Any recommendations?" Michelle Fuller asked. "Why don’t you just mix us a few sparkling wines that you think are good."

"Alright," Charles Lockwood nodded. "You all go pick a movie first."

"Okay, we appreciate it," Michelle Fuller said with satisfaction. "Lockwood’s all grown up. How nice."

Sean Fuller heard this and was both amused and exasperated. "Charles is only a year younger than you."

"Is that right?" Michelle Fuller laughed. "You guys chat, I’m going to pick a movie."

As soon as she left, Charles Lockwood lowered his voice and asked, "Sean, that... Renee, isn’t she that famous animal streamer from online?"

"Yeah, she is." Sean Fuller’s face instantly filled with pride. "My Renee is the animal streamer you’re talking about. Awesome, right?"

Charles Lockwood nodded quickly. "That’s incredible."

Sean Fuller watched his hands as he mixed the drinks and instructed, "Make the best-tasting drinks for the ladies."

"Of course," Charles Lockwood said with a serious expression.

Renee and the others picked a suspense blockbuster that had just been released a couple of days ago.

The movie, about a woman living alone being stalked by several different men, made Michelle Fuller’s heart pound with fear. She hugged Renee’s arm tightly.

"Oh my god, this is so scary."

Sylvia Brooks was also tense. A thin layer of sweat beaded on her forehead, and her palms were damp.

As a woman who lived alone herself, she found it especially relatable.

Renee reached out and placed her hand over Sylvia’s. Her voice was gentle. "Summer, are you scared?"

In the flickering light of the screen, Sylvia Brooks turned her head to meet Renee’s concerned gaze. A warmth spread through her heart, and she nodded lightly. "A little."

"Then stay at my place tonight," Renee said.

Sylvia Brooks wasn’t used to staying over at friends’ houses, but this time she nodded without hesitation. "Okay."

Michelle Fuller overheard and quickly jumped in. "Renee, I’m scared too! I want to sleep over at your place tonight, too."

Renee’s lips curved slightly, her exquisite face breaking into an indulgent smile. "Okay."

Halfway through the movie, Michelle Fuller needed to go to the restroom. She initially wanted to ask Renee to go with her, but then considered that it wouldn’t be appropriate to leave Sylvia alone with two guys she didn’t know well.

"Hank." Michelle Fuller got up and walked over to her brother.

Sean Fuller was huddled in an armchair, clutching a throw pillow. Hearing his sister’s voice, his heart skipped a beat. "Sis, you scared me to death."

"This is all the courage you have?" Michelle Fuller said irritably. "Come on, go with me to the restroom."

"Huh?" Sean Fuller was stunned for a second, and before he could react, his sister had already dragged him away.

The restroom was at the end of a long, dimly lit corridor. The brother and sister walked close together, still immersed in the terrifying atmosphere of the movie.

"Sis, I don’t think I can sleep alone tonight. What am I gonna do?" Sean Fuller said worriedly.

Michelle Fuller shot him a look. "You’re a grown man. How can you be such a coward?"

"I’m not a grown man," Sean Fuller retorted.

"Then what are you? A stinky man?"

"Wrong. I’m just a little boy."

Michelle Fuller: "..."

She made a gagging motion.

Sean Fuller said, displeased, "Sis, don’t you think of me as a little boy?"

"Of course not."

"Then what?"

"A little brat."

"Close enough."

Bickering, the two siblings reached the restrooms.

Sean Fuller went into the one on the left, and Michelle Fuller went into the one on the right.

There weren’t many people at the private cinema at this hour, so both the men’s and women’s restrooms were empty.

After using the restroom, Sean Fuller turned his head and instantly let out a terrified scream. "AHHH—"

A snake had reared up its upper body and was staring right at him.
