The Villainess's Heartthrob Script: I Can Talk to Animals

Chapter 562: The Legendary Plastic Besties

Chapter 562: Chapter 562: The Legendary Plastic Besties

"A misunderstanding?" Reina Vance frowned. "Then how do you explain the press-on nail in my house?"

Yeah, where did the nail come from?

Host, hurry and ask the little Pomeranian.

We really need to get to the bottom of this press-on nail thing.

Renee Jennings pursed her lips and asked softly, "Rain, do you still have the nail?"

"I do," said Reina Vance. "I’ve kept it safe."

With that, she pulled open the coffee table drawer, took out a sealed bag from inside a book, and shook it in front of the camera.

Hahaha, she’s preserving it like a piece of evidence.

Amazing, I’m impressed.

Seeing this, Renee spoke. "Mantou, have you seen what Rain is holding?"

Reina Vance held the press-on nail in front of Mantou. "Sweetie, take a good look. See who dropped this in our house."

Mantou stared at the nail in the bag with his big, round eyes, studying it for a moment before answering, "WOOF WOOF WOOF! That’s what Sister’s best friend dropped in our house!"

Upon hearing this, Renee relayed the answer to Reina Vance.

"Huh?" Reina Vance’s eyes widened in astonishment. "My best friend dropped it? Which one?"

You have that many best friends?

Oh no, it can’t be that your fiancé is having an affair with your best friend, can it?

Seeing the comments, Reina Vance’s expression turned grim. It was clear she was suspecting the same thing.

Renee got the name of the best friend from Mantou. "Sheryl Sterling."

"Huh?" Reina Vance’s frown deepened. "Could Mantou be mistaken? How could this nail belong to Yezi? I told her about it. If it were hers, she definitely would have said something."

"Are you sure?" Renee said with a faint smile. "If she didn’t say anything, she must have had her reasons."

What does the host mean by that? Is this Sheryl-something person really having an affair with Rain’s fiancé?

Rain’s bestie is probably not as simple as she seems.

"Host, my fiancé and Yezi..." Reina Vance bit her lip, unable to finish the sentence, seemingly unwilling to accept such a possibility.

"There’s nothing wrong with your fiancé; he’s innocent," Renee said calmly. "Your best friend, on the other hand, probably wishes you’d break up with him. Mantou said he saw your friend stuff the press-on nail into your sofa."

Huh, can you even call that a bestie? That’s a frenemy!

Rain, what is your frenemy thinking?

Reina Vance lowered her gaze, clenching her fists as she recalled her recent conversations with Sheryl Sterling.

"I sent her a picture of the press-on nail, and she didn’t say it was hers. She even said my fiancé might have another girlfriend."

Renee stated calmly, "She was likely trying to lead you to suspect your fiancé on purpose."

Reina Vance’s expression turned ugly. "I remember another time, Yezi said she saw my fiancé out shopping with another woman."

"And then?"

"I went and had a huge fight with my fiancé..." Reina Vance’s voice grew quieter, tinged with guilt. "But it turned out he’d been busy at his brother’s coffee shop all day."

Renee raised an eyebrow. "And you didn’t think it was strange for Yezi to say that at the time?"

"No." Reina Vance shook her head. "I thought she’d just made a mistake. But now that I think about it, she might have done it on purpose."

It was obviously on purpose. You have to be careful who you make friends with.

You two are the definition of plastic friends~

Why would this Yezi person do that? Does she dislike Rain’s fiancé, or does she *like* Rain’s fiancé?

Reina Vance stared at the comments and said hesitantly, "When Yezi and I meet, she does complain about my fiancé’s flaws and tells me to be cautious about getting married. She probably doesn’t like him."

Renee asked, "You’re the one who spends the most time with your fiancé. Do you think the flaws she points out are real?"

Reina Vance shook her head. "I don’t think so. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have gotten engaged."

Honestly, both of your actions are pretty confusing.

Are you one of those people who’s completely blinded by love?

Hard to say. Your best friend thinks your fiancé is no good, but you still got engaged. Then your best friend starts rumors to frame him for cheating, and now you suspect he’s betrayed you. The poor guy.

Reina Vance was a bit sensitive. Seeing the comments, her eyes reddened again. "Could everyone please not talk like that..."

"Rain, I suggest you figure out two things first," Renee said gently. "First, do you truly love your fiancé? Second, does Yezi actually like your fiancé or hate him?"

"Okay, I understand." Reina Vance nodded, her eyes welling with tears and her voice thick with emotion. "Thank you, Host. I’m going to sign off now."

Renee smiled faintly. "Good luck. Goodbye."

After leaving the cemetery, Zoe Morgan called Yvonne Morgan from her car, asking her to join her for afternoon tea.

Inside the Riverview Grill, Zoe Morgan sat by the window, a pair of sunglasses perched on her nose. Her gaze fell on the river outside, where the wind and waves created a shimmering expanse of light.

After a moment, she glanced down at her watch.

Yvonne Morgan was already half an hour late.

Ten more minutes passed before Yvonne Morgan, dressed in an apricot-colored strapless dress, sat down across from her. "Sorry, Auntie. The traffic was bad."

Zoe Morgan took off her sunglasses, a loving smile appearing on her tired face. "It’s alright. What would you like to drink?"

Yvonne Morgan raised a hand. "Waiter."

She ordered a black Americano, her eyes finally landing on Zoe Morgan’s face. "Auntie, are you not wearing any makeup today?" she asked in surprise.

"My makeup got smudged, so I just took it all off," Zoe Morgan said softly. "Did you sleep well last night?"

"Not really." Yvonne Morgan was dejected, her voice holding a hint of a sob. "I didn’t like any of the presents I got this time, the birthday money from Mom and Dad was less than before, and my brother didn’t even get me a gift this year, just cash."

"Don’t be sad," Zoe Morgan quickly soothed. "Auntie will make it up to you."

"It’s not the same." Yvonne Morgan pouted, aggrieved. "You don’t understand, Auntie. Mom donated more money to the stray animal rescue association than she gave me for my birthday."

"A stray animal rescue association?" Zoe Morgan looked puzzled. "Why would my sister-in-law donate money there?"

"Because of Renee Jennings, of course," Yvonne Morgan said. "Isn’t she an animal streamer? Mom’s affection for her has extended to her causes."

Zoe Morgan frowned. Although she knew Aria Sinclair had her reasons, she still felt uneasy. "My sister-in-law can’t be so biased."

"I don’t blame Mom," Yvonne Morgan said, lowering her eyes, though she didn’t mean it. "She can do whatever she wants, as long as she’s happy."

"Yvonne, you’re such a good child," Zoe Morgan comforted her in a soft voice. "Auntie is sorry. I feel I’ve let you down."

Yvonne Morgan couldn’t help but frown, a flicker of impatience crossing her mind.

’It’s always the same few lines over and over. What’s the point?’
