Chapter 579: Chapter 579: Just Thought Zoe Morgan Was a Joke
Renee Jennings glanced in Zachary Morgan’s direction, then calmly looked away.
"Renee, are these two your friends?" Aria Sinclair looked at the people beside her, realizing both young women looked familiar. "Aren’t you... Miss Brooks, and Miss Fuller?"
Sylvia Brooks gave her a slight nod. "It’s been a while, Mrs. Morgan."
She had visited the Morgan family home and met Aria Sinclair before, back when she was dating Vincent Morgan.
"It has been a while." Aria Sinclair smiled, then turned to Michelle Fuller. "Miss Fuller, the last time I saw you was at the charity gala."
"Hello, Mrs. Morgan." Michelle Fuller nodded.
Vincent Morgan hadn’t expected Sylvia Brooks to be here either. He stepped forward to greet them and said gently, "Well, let’s head inside."
Zachary Morgan, walking last, grabbed Aria Sinclair’s hand and asked in a low voice, "Why are they here?"
"They are guests I invited." Aria Sinclair shook off his hand, her expression cold. "Do you have a problem with that?"
Zachary Morgan quickly shook his head. "No problem at all."
Aria Sinclair turned and followed Renee’s steps.
Zachary Morgan let out a long sigh and followed as well.
Zoe Morgan and Yvonne Morgan sat on the living room sofa, waiting anxiously, their gazes drifting to the door from time to time.
As footsteps approached, Yvonne Morgan immediately looked up. Her expression changed in an instant, and she clenched her fists tightly.
First came anticipation, then it twisted into fury.
’Renee!’
’Why is she here?’
"Renee, Miss Brooks, Miss Fuller, please have a seat." Aria Sinclair smiled, gesturing for them to sit.
The Morgan family had no servants at the moment, so she turned to Vincent Morgan. "Go get some tea."
Then she added, "Wait, would you prefer coffee or tea?"
Renee said flatly, "Don’t trouble yourself. We’re fine."
Aria Sinclair pressed her lips together and glanced at Vincent Morgan. He turned and headed for the kitchen anyway.
Zoe Morgan shot to her feet, her gaze sweeping over Renee and her two friends. Her brow was tightly furrowed, and her face was incredibly grim.
She stared at Aria Sinclair, her tone accusatory. "Sister-in-law, what is the meaning of this?"
The moment she finished speaking, she glanced worriedly at Yvonne Morgan, who was sitting beside her.
’How can Yvonne possibly handle such a cruel situation?’
Aria Sinclair tilted her head to look at Zoe Morgan, her expression turning frigid, her eyes filled with undisguised loathing. "Zoe Morgan, that’s a question I should be asking you. What is the meaning of *this*?"
Instead of answering, she looked at the man behind Aria Sinclair and asked with a trembling voice, "Brother, you... didn’t you say you’d give me a week?"
Hearing this, Michelle Fuller leaned over and whispered into Renee’s ear, "I can’t believe her. Is that really the point right now?"
Her voice wasn’t quiet, and everyone heard her.
Zoe Morgan shot her an irritated glare.
’What a busybody!’
Aria Sinclair sat down on the sofa and said coolly, "Zoe Morgan, your brother said you have something to confess to me. Out with it."
"Hasn’t he already told you?" Zoe Morgan asked instinctively.
At her words, Aria Sinclair gave a scornful laugh, her gaze landing on Zachary Morgan. "She says you’ve told me. *Have* you told me?"
"No," Zachary Morgan replied in a low voice.
Zoe Morgan’s eyelashes fluttered, and she asked in astonishment, "Brother, you... you haven’t said anything yet?"
Zachary Morgan didn’t even want to look at her.
Just then, Vincent Morgan returned with four cups of tea. He placed three near Renee and her friends, and handed one to Aria Sinclair.
Seeing this, Yvonne Morgan’s face turned ashen with anger.
"Still not talking?" Aria Sinclair asked.
Zoe Morgan clenched her fists. "There are outsiders here. This is a family matter."
"Renee is not an outsider, which means her friends aren’t either." Aria Sinclair stared at her coldly, her voice filled with unyielding resolve. "I told you to speak, so speak. If you won’t, then I’ll start."
"You..." Zoe Morgan shut her eyes in anguish. "Must you do this?"
"You’re pathetic." Aria Sinclair picked up her tea and took a few sips, her face taut. In a heavy voice, she said, "Fine, I’ll start. Since Yvonne Morgan is the child who was switched at birth and has no blood ties to the Morgan family, from now on, I will cut her off from all financial support and make her leave the Morgan home."
A flash of disbelief crossed Yvonne Morgan’s eyes.
’What does she mean?’
’Does Aria still not know that I’m Dad’s biological daughter?’
’But why have she and my brother suddenly changed their attitudes?’
Several thoughts flashed through Yvonne Morgan’s mind as her gaze secretly fell upon Renee Jennings.
’Is it because of this bitch?’
’Now that Renee has been acknowledged, are they just going to throw me away—the daughter with no blood ties?’
Zoe Morgan was also surprised. She too had thought Aria genuinely didn’t know the truth.
"Sister-in-law, this is unfair to Yvonne." She frowned, then looked to Zachary Morgan. "Brother, what do you think?"
She didn’t believe Zachary Morgan would treat his own biological daughter this way.
Yvonne Morgan also looked at him nervously.
’Dad knows I’m his biological daughter. He’ll never agree with Aria’s decision.’
Zachary Morgan’s face was grim. He ground out through clenched teeth, "I’ll listen to whatever Rue says. She can arrange things however she wants."
When Yvonne Morgan heard this, her face instantly went pale, and a look of utter disbelief filled her eyes.
’How could Dad do this?’
Zoe Morgan’s lips moved. She wanted to say something but didn’t dare speak too plainly in front of Aria Sinclair. "Brother, Yvonne has been in the Morgan family since she was born..."
"And?" Aria Sinclair said with a humorless smile. "No matter how you spin it, she has no blood relation to the Morgan family. That’s a fact. You were the one who went to get the paternity test results back then."
"Yes." For the time being, Zoe Morgan didn’t want Aria Sinclair to know Yvonne’s true parentage, so she said tactfully, "But we’ve lived together for twenty-four years. Sister-in-law, are you really going to be so heartless as to cast Yvonne aside?"
Hearing this, a sarcastic smile curled on Renee’s lips.
To the three people who knew the whole truth, Zoe Morgan was just a joke.
"Enough," Aria Sinclair said, her face devoid of expression. "That is my decision. Now it’s your turn."
Zoe Morgan was unwilling to speak about the things she had done in front of so many people.
She pressed her lips together and lowered her head. "I have nothing more to say."
Standing behind Aria Sinclair, Zachary Morgan’s brow was furrowed so tightly it could have crushed a fly.
"Are you sure?" Aria Sinclair stared at her intently, her eyes as sharp as hidden daggers.
"I..." Zoe Morgan glanced at Renee and her friends out of the corner of her eye and nodded stiffly. "I’m sure."
But Yvonne Morgan was not having it. "Aunt, why won’t you say anything?"
She didn’t understand why Zoe Morgan was being so secretive. Aria Sinclair could no longer tolerate her presence; she had to let everyone know that she was Zachary Morgan’s daughter.
"Yvonne, some things can’t be explained in just a few words," Zoe Morgan explained gently. "Please, don’t be so anxious, okay?"
"How can I not be anxious?" Yvonne Morgan’s face was etched with displeasure. She pointed a finger at Aria Sinclair, her tone arrogant and disrespectful. "This woman is trying to kick me out of the Morgan family!"
"Yvonne Morgan, what is that attitude?" Vincent Morgan chided unhappily.
Zoe Morgan frantically tried to signal her with her eyes, her voice laced with panicked persuasion. "Yvonne, you can’t speak to your mother like that."
