Book 4, Chapter 52: Representative Team
“This is the Snow Goose. Not bad, right?”
Pan Xiaode excitedly introduced the airship to Chen Chuan and led him into the warehouse.
“It’s the middle of September right now, so the weather has been pretty good. Visibility is great, and it’s the perfect time for sightseeing. After you finish training, you can enjoy the scenery above the ocean. The setting sun in autumn is a sight you need to see.”
The ship's cabin was around twelve meters long, and there were three crew inside. Pan Xiaode brought Chen Chuan into the airship and introduced him to the three people manning the airship. Then, he gave him a tour of the airship itself.
“Well, do you like it? This is a sightseeing airship, though. While it has been fortified before, it can’t go through too much abuse.”
“That’s fine. I’m just going to meditate here,” Chen Chuan assured him.
“That’s good,” Pan Xiaode said. After a second, he said, “By the way, Chen Chuan, I mean, Mr. Chen, you’re offering classes on the platform, aren’t you?”
“Need some guidance?” Chen Chuan asked with a grin.
“Of course!” Pan Xiaode’s eyes lit up. After his spar with Chen Chuan in Tan Zhi’s apartment, he had learned a lot.
Back then, he hadn’t wanted to pester Chen Chuan for more tips, but now, Chen Chuan was a lecturer, so Pan Xiaode could hire him, right? If his family hadn’t been busy with building a new aviation logistics company and dragged him over to help, he would have purchased Chen Chuan’s courses a long time ago. He was already thinking about buying them.
Chen Chuan laughed and left the airship with Pan Xiaode. Once they were in the empty space, he started teaching. The pilot and airship crew watched with great interest.
Chen Chuan had already gathered quite a bit of teaching experience, so teaching was as easy as breathing for him. He corrected inaccurate movements and set up breathing techniques and stances to correct Pan Xiaode’s movements.
After just a bit of trying, Pan Xiaode found that it was effective, and he cheered before saying regretfully, “It’s a pity that Huixin isn’t here today. I asked her for a sparring session, but she told me that she had to receive an important guest, then attend some kind of party tonight. That’s why she couldn’t come. Otherwise, we would have asked you to teach us together.”
“It’s fine. If she needs my help, she can buy my courses,” Chen Chuan said with a smile.
“You’re right! I’ll tell her that!” Pan Xiaode perked up.
Half an hour later, when Chen Chuan saw that Pan Xiaode no longer needed any further corrections, he returned to the airship. While it delayed his schedule a bit, teaching Pan Xiaode let him pay his friend back for his kindness, and his second self got stronger too, so this was a double win.
Since all preparations were ready, ten minutes later, with the help of the airship crew, Snow Goose took off slowly and flew to the ocean.
Chen Chuan stood at the viewing platform and admired the magnificent, beautiful scenery beneath him. Since it was almost 9 a.m., the sea breeze was gentle, and the sky was clear. Visibility was great as well. The autumn sun was bright and gentle as it cast the ocean in a golden glow.
Dawncall flew together with the airship and seemed really happy. Occasionally, it flew past the opened porthole. Sometimes, it circled the airship, and occasionally, it chased after the birds flying above the ocean.
Chen Chuan let the sea breeze blow against his skin and enjoyed the quiet morning. Just then, he sensed something, and he looked into the distance. A large cluster of dark clouds had suddenly drifted over from the horizon.
He raised an eyebrow at that before walking to the open deck ahead to stand at the tip of the airship. When he looked into the distance, he found that those weren’t dark clouds. They were large airships, and there were more than a hundred of them. They formed a cluster of black dots in the sky and were flying toward Central City with the sun behind them. The wind brought the sound of their propellers.
Snow Goose didn’t change course because of it, but continued onward on its designated route. Hence, it looked like it was going up to face that giant airship fleet.
As the two sides approached, Chen Chuan saw a large inverted triangle on the tip and sides of the largest airships.
Inside the triangle were a pair of spread wings formed by several intersecting geometric shapes. Each geometric shape represented the shape of a continent. In the background were scattered stars that resembled crushed meteorites.
After staring at it for a while, Chen Chuan recognized the symbol.
It belonged to the Union of Corporations, which meant that this was the Union’s representative team.
After they drew even closer, he saw just how big the first few airships were. They were almost three hundred meters long, which made them ten times Snow Goose’s size. When they were close by, it was as if a hill had approached them, and the pressure was unparalleled.
Rows of armed security guards dressed in uniform stood by the portholes, but none of them paid any attention to Snow Goose, a small and obviously harmless sightseeing airship.
Chen Chuan stood on the deck with the Frost King Saber and watched with a calm gaze. His hair and clothes danced in the wind.
Based on the information from the Resolution Department, some artifacts were bound to have come into the merged space after the gap had been open for so long.
Hence, the Resolution Department theorized that while the Union said that they were coming to talk about the businesses Ferris Wheel left behind after its destruction, their true goal was the artifacts in the merged space.
A few minutes later, Snow Goose passed by the airship fleet, and the sky turned bright once again.
Chen Chuan cast the fleet one last glance before turning around. When he passed by the cockpit, the pilot asked, “Was that the Union, Mr. Chen?”
“It’s them. I thought that you’d avoid them,” Chen Chuan said.
The pilot scoffed. “This is our territory. We can go wherever we want. The Union is nothing here.”
Chen Chuan nodded. “That’s exactly right.”
Then, he cast a glance at the distant airship fleet before saying, “Let’s stop here.”
The pilot gave him an okay sign.
Chen Chuan returned to the rear cabin and shut the hatch, which isolated the space. Then, he pulled the Frost King Saber from its sheath, took out the spine-like bone from his duffel bag, and put his hand on it.
Around ten minutes later, he opened his eyes and checked around his feet. There was a thick, severed limb lying on the ground and multiple tears in his clothes.
While the rewards were great, the fight had been dangerous. If Chen Chuan went inside again, it would be even more so.
He sucked in a deep breath and lifted the Frost King Saber. With a swing of his blade, he cut open a bright gash in the air.

The Union’s airship fleet was flying toward White Bird District. Some of the company representatives and important politicians were standing in their airships while waiting eagerly.
After Ferris Wheel’s destruction, the Department of Administrative Affairs, through a successful bout of crisis management, chased away the existence from the other world, removed Ferris Wheel, and established a certain degree of prestige. They even set up a series of new laws.
Many of them were bad for the municipal government. If they were carried out long-term and became the norm, the new laws would oppress and weaken the municipal government’s power in Central City. This was something they could not tolerate.
Hence, the municipal government welcomed the Union with open arms and gave them huge benefits. They hoped that a real member of the Union would come to Jibei Road’s Central City to fight the pressure from the Department of Administrative Affairs.
The airship fleet stopped at the mooring point outside White Bird District. The elite security guards and martial artists exited the airships and checked the entire area. Once they were sure that it was safe, the dozen Union representatives disembarked and shook hands with the people who came to welcome them.
The cameras from the reporters flashed nonstop, and the entire process was recorded by domain entities. Tomorrow, this scene would appear on the headlines of every news channel.
The municipal government threw a grand welcoming party for the representatives. Aside from Central City’s politicians, important government officials siding with the municipal government, company executives, and celebrities were also present.
Sadias Merryways, the representative of Spiraling Ocean, finished his conversation with a politician. After looking around, he went up to Boswin Lindenberg, the sales manager of Bolun Corporation, who Chen Chuan had saved back in Yangzhi City.
“It’s been a while, Boswin,” he said with a smile and extended his hand.
Boswin shook it and responded politely, “Hello, Sadias. It’s been two years since we last met, hasn’t it?”
“That’s right. The last time we met was at South Isle’s Yalan Mega Creature Exhibition. We had a pleasant conversation back then. It’s a pity that we didn’t manage to go too in-depth since I was in a hurry.”
He then motioned to the side and extended an invitation. “Do you have a minute?”
Boswin nodded.
They went to a secluded corner and made some small talk before Sadias said, “I heard that your expansion here hasn’t been going smoothly. Is that correct?”
“The Great Shun Republic is very aggressive, and we have indeed run into some obstacles, but we can solve the problems ourselves. We have plenty of friends here,” Boswin said.
Sadias drew closer. “I can tell. So, as your friend, we’re willing to offer you help as well. You already have a channel leading to the merged space, but you lack sufficient armed support. If we wanted to establish our own channel, we’d need a year or more to negotiate with the Great Shun Republic. This would make us fall behind the other companies, and that wouldn’t be good for our mutual interest.
“We’re both from Norland, and it should be possible for us to compete against the other companies if we work together. What do you think?” He turned a little, grabbed a champagne flute from a waiter walking by, and lifted the flute at Boswin.
Boswin agreed with that. In truth, their executives had already come to some sort of partnership agreement. Boswin and Sadias were only going to make sure the partnership worked. He lifted his flute and said, “You’re right.”
The two flutes knocked into each other with a clink.
After taking a sip of his champagne, Boswin said, “Forgive me for asking, but who are you sending out as your explorers?”
Sadias smiled. “The Lightning Siblings are going to lead.”
Upon seeing Boswin’s shocked expression, Sadias took another sip of champagne and said confidently, “I believe that they’re unstoppable.”
