Chapter 2540: Chapter 2320: Taking Liu Yiran’s Spot_6
"Alright, alright, sister, I know you’re looking out for me. Don’t argue with the two physicians. I’ll just go and get the examination done." The patient said to Chen Xue.
"Ma’am, they’re just deliberately having you do more tests to make you spend more money." Chen Xue looked disdainfully at Feng Huihui and Li Jiachen.
"Watch what you say and mind your own mouth. Do you know the situation? I think some of the patient’s indicators are a bit abnormal. Out of caution, I suggested checking the liver elasticity. Is there anything wrong with that?" Feng Huihui said to Chen Xue.
"Got it, physician, I’ll go do it now." The physician walked over to Feng Huihui’s desk, picked up the report for the three completed tests, and walked out of the office.
Chen Xue followed the patient out.
"What are you doing? Come back!" Feng Huihui shouted at Chen Xue again.
Chen Xue ignored Feng Huihui and followed the patient out.
"Ma’am, can I take a look at these three test reports?" Chen Xue asked the patient.
"You know how to read them?" the patient asked Chen Xue.
"Liver function is the simplest test. We studied it too." Chen Xue replied.
"Alright, then, show it to me." The patient handed all the test reports to Chen Xue.
Chen Xue took a look and found that all the patient’s indicators were still within normal range, meaning that the liver elasticity test was unnecessary.
But here’s the problem: if Chen Xue tells the patient that the liver elasticity test is unnecessary, and if the patient later finds a problem during another test, would Chen Xue be responsible for it?
After careful consideration, Chen Xue said to the patient, "Ma’am, there’s indeed nothing wrong with your liver function, but they’re right, I can’t guarantee that there’s nothing wrong with the liver elasticity."
"I understand, you’re a good child, go ahead, I’ll go home to get the money and return to do the last test." The patient said to Chen Xue.
"Okay."
The patient sighed, turned to wipe away tears from the corners of their eyes, walked slowly with heavy steps, and a numb expression on their face, towards the elevator at the end of the corridor.
Chen Xue watched the patient’s back, feeling a heavy blockage in her chest.
"Didn’t you hear me calling you in?" Feng Huihui, with an angry face, came out of the office and leaned against the door, shouting at Chen Xue.
"I heard you!" Chen Xue responded harshly, turning her head sideways to provocatively look at Feng Huihui.
"I’ve never seen an intern like you. I’m calling your class teacher now... No, I’m calling your department head. I’ll have them teach you what respect for teachers is, what it means for a doctor to diagnose without you interrupting on the side, teaching you not to meddle, not to slander!" Feng Huihui rattled off a series of complaints.
"Go ahead, make the call now!" Chen Xue wasn’t scared at all because Lu Yaobing had told her that Feng Huihui was no longer her mentor.
"You! I’m going to teach you a lesson today, you little brat!" Feng Huihui picked up the phone, ready to dial.
"Doctor Feng, Doctor Feng, don’t do this, let’s talk this out, let’s talk this out. Chen Xue is still young, why get angry with an intern!" Li Jiachen came out to mediate.
"I just can’t understand what’s wrong with this generation, all these pampered, only-child millennials acting like little princesses with an air of arrogance. I can’t stand it." Feng Huihui muttered a few more words and went back inside the office with Li Jiachen.
Chen Xue also went back into the office in silence, not knowing when to inform Feng Huihui that she was no longer her mentor.
Chen Xue interns at the hospital, while Lu Yaobing interns at Song Xiaodong’s house.
Lu Yaobing left earlier than Chen Xue because there were so many patients coming to see Song Xiaodong.
When Lu Yaobing arrived at Song Xiaodong’s house, Lin Su’er was still there, on the phone.
"Dean Liu, what’s up? How did the favor I asked of you yesterday go?" Lin Su’er asked Liu Changhong.
"Director Lin, I’ve already informed the people below, so rest assured." Liu Changhong replied.
"Then I wonder why Dean Liu is calling me?" Lin Su’er asked.
"Well, Director Lin, it’s like this: today, Director Wu from the Health Bureau wants to come inspect our hospital," Liu Changhong said.
"Oh... so?" Lin Su’er said.
"So I was hoping Director Lin could come to our hospital to help me receive Director Wu," Liu Changhong said.
"Dean Liu, why do you need to bring me along just because Director Wu is coming to inspect your hospital?" Lin Su’er asked Liu Changhong.
"Director Lin, you don’t understand. This is the first time I’ve met Director Wu since becoming dean. I’m a bit nervous." Liu Changhong said to Lin Su’er.
"Hahahahaha... Dean Liu, you’re nervous about meeting Director Wu? I’m nervous too!" Lin Su’er said.
"Director Lin, with the connections of you and Mr. Song, I have a bit more confidence talking in front of Director Wu, but I have nothing, so I hoped you’d come to back me up." Liu Changhong said.
"Alright then, I owe you for arranging Chen Xue’s mentorship." Lin Su’er said.
"Oh, Director Lin, we’re just helping each other out, no need to mention favors." Liu Changhong said.
"When will Director Wu arrive?" Lin Su’er asked.
"I don’t know either, I didn’t even dare to ask, but Director Lin, it’d be better for you to come early!" Liu Changhong said.
"You didn’t do anything wrong, so why are you so scared of Director Wu?" Lin Su’er teased Liu Changhong.
"Director Lin, it’s just like how drivers fear traffic police and those soliciting prostitution fear the police!" Liu Changhong said.
"Hahahahaha, alright then, I’m setting off now." Lin Su’er said.
"That would be wonderful, thank you so much, Director Lin." Liu Changhong said.
"Alright, that’s settled then."
After hanging up the phone, Lin Su’er said to Song Xiaodong, "Which way to the City Third Hospital?"
"I don’t know, if you don’t know, how would I know?" Song Xiaodong said.
