Chapter 2555: Chapter 2335: Let Me Arrange an Advertisement for You_3

"You’re not taking me where I need to go, so why should I pay you?" Song Jiaren argued with the driver.

"You’re not going to pay?" The driver heard Song Jiaren wasn’t going to pay and began to get out of the car.

This scared Song Jiaren a bit. She pulled out a fifty-dollar bill and threw it into the car.

"You’re not going to pay? Let’s see about that! Out here in the wilderness, I could do whatever I wanted with you, and no one would come to save you!" the driver cursed as he drove off, leaving Song Jiaren stranded on the endless rural dirt road.

Luckily, the car hadn’t gone far beyond Stone Town, so Song Jiaren could still walk back along the dirt road to find a place to stay for the night.

Stone Town is a typical small town built along the highway. Almost all the buildings in the town are constructed along the road, forming a long, strip-like distribution. The route is lined with restaurants and inns specifically catered to long-distance bus and truck drivers for rest and meals.

Though it was a desolate town, the nightlife was surprisingly vibrant. Restaurants, card rooms, hair salons, internet cafes, and KTVs on both sides of the highway were open. At the town’s edge, there was a grand two-story restaurant with a very bright mercury lamp illuminating the rooftop.

Song Jiaren turned on the flashlight on her phone and walked along the highway back to Stone Town, flanked by harvested fields, as the northwest wind howled.

She shivered, quickening her steps toward the brightly lit restaurant at the town entrance.

It was already late autumn, and the nights were quite cold, yet there were still a few tables set outside the restaurant’s entrance. A few burly countrymen, bare-chested, sat around drinking heavily.

Normally, staying up late at night to drink outdoors like this would be considered annoying, but in this remote countryside, seeing people still awake at such a late hour strangely put Song Jiaren at ease.

But she shouldn’t have felt that way.

"Bro, look over there!"

"Look at what?"

"Look at that chick over there! How’s she look?"

"She’s pretty young!"

"Yeah, probably just turned twenty."

"Dressed quite fashionably, huh? Looks like she’s from the city!"

"Laozi’s never had a city girl before!"

"Don’t say you haven’t. Last time you went to the city, you went to that bathhouse, didn’t you?"

"That girl was from the countryside, not interesting at all, just had a good figure. How can she compare to a tender city girl who grew up surrounded by urban life!"

Chapter 2237: Do the Brothers Mind Me Asking

"She’s coming over, she’s coming over."

"Hey, what’s a little girl like her doing here in the middle of nowhere?"

"No clue. Maybe she’s from around here?"

"There’s no one that good-looking on our whole block."

"Exactly! If there was someone like that, Li Zhongfeng would’ve moved in by now!"

"Brother Feng, it’s not too late to make your move now!"

"Don’t egg me on! When I’m drunk, I’ll do anything!"

"Brother Feng, it’s the middle of nowhere; it’s late at night. We could just take this girl upstairs and have our way, and no one would ever know."

"Not gonna do anything stupid!"

"She’s a looker!"

"What if she’s local? What then?"

"We don’t have to use force. Nowadays, girls from the city are open-minded; maybe she came here looking for strong country boys. Don’t you know, city girls love coming to rural areas to find men because we’re strong from manual labor, way better than those pampered city boys."

"We could just ask why she’s here; if she really is a city girl, coming here late at night could only mean one thing: she’s looking for fun. And so, it doesn’t matter who it is with, right?"

"Are you serious?"

"Of course! Who in their right mind wouldn’t take advantage of such an opportunity?"

Song Jiaren headed straight over to the group of drinkers.

"Excuse me, do you guys know if there’s a hotel in this village?" Song Jiaren asked.

"Yes, walk along the highway down that way." One of the drinkers pointed out the direction for Song Jiaren.

"Thank you." Song Jiaren was about to leave.

"Hey, hey, hey, wait a second! I gave you directions, and all I get is a simple thanks?" the drinker said to Song Jiaren.

"Thank you, thank you." Song Jiaren, having already had one bad experience with men, knew these guys were probably up to something. She said thank you and turned to leave.

"Don’t be in such a rush!" The man closest to Song Jiaren stretched out his hand and grabbed her arm.

"Let go!" Song Jiaren struggled to break free.

"How about you have a drink with us, eh? We meet by fate tonight. Join us for some midnight snacks, and enjoy ourselves a bit, won’t you?" said the man who had caught Song Jiaren’s arm.

"What do you want? Let me go!" Song Jiaren was frightened, desperately trying to break free.

"First, tell us what you’re up to out here." the drinker asked.

"I’m just passing through!" Song Jiaren replied.

"Really? You’re not here specifically looking for a man? Lately, city girls love coming out to our countryside to find men. Our men might not be as educated as those in the city, but we’re strong, guaranteed to satisfy you!"

"Hahahahahahaha," a group of men burst out in lewd laughter.
