Chapter 1800: Chapter 1738: Wufu’s Discovery
What a big gamble!
The Little Maid, seeing her chastity at risk, felt a tinge of despair and resolution in her eyes and reached toward her waist.
Wufu glanced, his eyes sharp, seeing Song Cheng still lowering his head, while Tie Erniu was making a ruckus nearby. Wufu casually flicked a peanut toward Crown Prince Li’s waist.
Crown Prince Li felt a numbness at his waist and rolled off the Little Maid. Wufu laughed loudly and said, "Could it be, fellow elder brother, that you’ve drunk too much and are out of strength? If so, why not favor your little brother instead?"
He pulled the Little Maid over, firmly holding her hand.
The Little Maid was in tears, looking at him in terror.
Crown Prince Li was somewhat puzzled and felt weak all over, thinking perhaps he truly had drunk too much. His vision blurred; seeing Wufu caress the maidservant’s neck, he said, "Then it’s yours."
Only then did Song Cheng look at Wufu, seeing him leaning toward the maidservant’s neck as if to kiss her, a trace of disappointment flickered in his eyes, and he averted his gaze.
What he didn’t know was that Wufu was leaning toward the maidservant’s neck, he was closer to her ear, and in a barely audible voice, said two words: "Don’t move."
"Brothers, I’ve drunk too much, need a room to rest, everyone, enjoy yourselves." Wufu tugged the Little Maid and staggered to his feet.
Crown Prince Li and Tie Erniu laughed ambiguously, knowing what "rest" implied.
Half-supported, half-pulled, Wufu led the Little Maid, staggering out. Chi Wu quickly followed.
Once inside a private room, Chi Wu stood guard at the door, awkwardly saying to the Song Cheng attendant who followed, "You made a fool out of your master today."
The attendant smiled, "We’re both servants, we understand." He listened for a moment, hearing the sound of the Little Maid’s crying and begging from inside, smiled again, stood for a while, then left.
Chi Wu’s lips tightened.
Inside the room, Wufu listened to the departing footsteps and said, "Alright, stop crying."
The Little Maid stopped crying, clutching her clothes, looked timidly at Wufu.
Wufu glanced at her waist and said, "You wanted to assassinate Crown Prince Li?"
The Little Maid’s eyes widened.
"With so many people there, you couldn’t have killed him. Even if you managed to hurt him, he wouldn’t die. Instead, you’d find life worse than death." Wufu said.
The Little Maid lowered her head and said nothing.
Wufu yawned and said, "I don’t know what grievances you have with him, but let me tell you, don’t act recklessly. Nothing is more important than your life, including so-called chastity. It’s true life is hard, but if you’re not afraid of dying, why fear living?"
"You can leave now."
The Little Maid glanced at him, stood up, walked to the door, and curtsied to Wufu.
Chi Wu came in and reported, "Miss, Song Cheng is indeed very vigilant."
"Otherwise, how could he become a young general?" Wufu frowned and said, "Marquis Xuanwu is the great general guarding the Northern Region, right? To think his son is such a character, tsk."
Chi Wu said nothing.
Wufu added, "I didn’t expect Song Cheng to be associated with Marquis Xuanwu’s Mansion; it’s really interesting. A general against a general, what are they planning?"
The two sides serve different countries and should be adversaries, yet here they are, sitting at the same table drinking, inviting each other to birthdays. It’s quite fascinating.
"Send someone to keep an eye on Tie Lao Er. He may have connections with that group of abductors." Wufu said, lowering his gaze.
If that’s the case, then Crown Prince Li being friends with such people, what does it signify? What’s Marquis Xuanwu’s stance on this, and what’s the role they play in all of it?
