Doted By The Regent King

Chapter 1984 - 1922: The Show Begins

Chapter 1984: Chapter 1922: The Show Begins

Wufu had thought Empress Song was a thief who wouldn’t give up, but she hadn’t expected her to be so foolish, using the last path to hide her identity for nothing good, only to come and die for revenge!

Should she call her mad or reckless, or simply not knowing her limits?

But on second thought, if it were her, and the opponent had killed her child, annihilated her family and loved ones, she too would give her life to drag the opponent into hell.

Thinking this way, Wufu no longer dwells on the stupidity or wisdom of Empress Song; it’s all personal choice. At worst, she’ll make sure she dies swiftly and end this troublesome matter.

"Inform the prince. He can act now," Wufu said. "Have Xiao Qi stick close to the Crown Prince, protect him from harm."

Mo Lan nodded and quickly departed.

Wufu glanced at the opera stage and waved her hand into the air, signaling to a shadow hidden in the darkness: "Princess Consort."

"Surround the Viewing Opera Pavilion, don’t let anyone alarm these Honorable Ladies, keep an eye on all exits, and don’t let anyone escape."

"Yes."

Once the shadow disappeared, Wufu slowly returned to the opera stage, her mind still on Empress Song.

Lu Shenxing’s path for her survival wasn’t entirely foolproof; the defenses of another palace seemed like a steel barrel, but they still managed to sneak in. It’s unclear how many of them there are; hopefully, Ah Jiu can quickly capture them all without any complications.

"What’s wrong?" Empress Dowager Mo asked Wufu softly.

Wufu smiled faintly, "Nothing, Royal Mother, enjoy your birthday in peace."

Empress Dowager Mo raised an eyebrow and then turned to whisper with a gray-haired lady by her side.

Wufu shifted her gaze around, her thoughts returning to Empress Song once again.

Discovering Empress Song had infiltrated another palace was due to Wufu and Empress Dowager Mo strolling in the garden when they encountered a group of palace maids carrying orchids. One of them had a figure that seemed familiar; she hadn’t thought much of it at the time, but until two days ago, passing by the garden and hearing two little palace maids mention Empress Song, a lightbulb flashed in her mind.

That familiar silhouette truly resembled Empress Song, although thin, the overall shape wasn’t too different.

Wufu immediately sensed something was amiss and had that person tracked down, confirming her identity after some observation and pursuit.

Even though she knew Empress Song was inside, Wufu didn’t alert the snake, because she didn’t know how many people Empress Song had, and she wanted to capture them all at once to eliminate this big problem.

She first sent word to Ah Jiu about the situation here, then went to see Emperor Yan, obtaining his orders, and mobilizing trustworthy generals from another palace.

For Empress Song to infiltrate, there must be an insider in another palace; they need to find that person, or else what would happen if that hidden insider stabs them in the back? A centipede dies but never falls down; unless it’s thoroughly dealt with, it will still be a problem.

As for Empress Song, she’s a weak woman who can’t perform martial arts, besides using poison and close assassination, what can she do?

Once everyone behind her is captured, she becomes a toothless tiger, harmless.

However, thinking like this, Wufu didn’t dare to be complacent; a cornered rabbit can bite, let alone an old tigress determined to go without return?

Indeed, Wufu believed for Empress Song to decide to infiltrate another palace, she must harbor suicidal intentions; even if not, she wouldn’t dare hope to escape, whether it was Emperor Yan or Empress Dowager Mo, she’s bound to drag one of them to hell.

Music began, signaling the start of the performance.
