Chapter 2003 - 1941: Never Regret

Chapter 2003: Chapter 1941: Never Regret

The new room is filled with festivity, red everywhere, reflecting faces flushed like flowers.

After the elaborate ceremony of drinking the joint wedding wine, the wedding matron left, and Ah Jiu said to Wufu, "Are you tired? There are quite a few guests outside. I’ll go greet them and come back soon. Don’t wait for me, if you’re hungry, have something to fill your stomach."

Wufu asked, "Do I need to accompany the Royal Mother?"

"No need, there are people with her, you’re the bride, you’re the most important one. Just wait here for me to return." Ah Jiu gently pinched her chin, teasingly saying, "I’ll be back soon, won’t keep you waiting."

Wufu spat at him, pushing him, "Get lost!"

Ah Jiu walked out, smiling.

After he left, a group of noblewomen and young ladies came in, laughing and chatting around Wufu, complimenting her from all over the world, until they finally departed.

The bustling new room finally quieted down.

Wufu rubbed her stiff smiling face and her neck sore from the phoenix crown, saying to Purple Jade, "Help me take off the hair ornaments and change into something simpler, I’m very tired."

Purple Jade quickly called Hongyu and others in to help Wufu remove her hair ornaments and makeup, and after refreshing her, applying fragrant balm, and eating some Bird’s Nest Porridge, Wufu finally lay back comfortably on the bed.

She looked at the dragon and phoenix candles as thick as a baby’s hand, the flame flickering, distant sounds intermittently reaching her ears, making her feel sleepy and her consciousness blurring.

She had been up before dawn and after a day of hustle, she was truly exhausted. These ancient grand wedding customs were extremely intricate.

As she closed her eyes, she slept resting her hands under her head until the rich aroma of wine reached her nose, making her groggily open her eyes.

Ah Jiu’s face was right in front of her, her eyes half-closed, lazily like a cat, hoarse voice asking, "Back?"

"Mm." Ah Jiu leaned in, savoring her scent, nuzzling like a puppy.

"Shower?" Wufu propped herself up.

Ah Jiu pushed her back down, saying, "I’ll go myself." As he spoke, he stood up and called someone in to assist.

Wufu lay back down.

Soon, Ah Jiu returned, his long black hair loose, handsome face flushed with steam, casually wearing a loose inner robe, revealing his muscular chest.

Though the two were long married in both name and reality, seeing Ah Jiu like this, Wufu couldn’t help but swallow.

This was her man.

"Does it look good?" Ah Jiu climbed onto the bed, propping his head on his hand to ask.

"Looks good." Wufu reached out to touch, the lines smooth, muscles firm, not only handsome but alluring.

Ah Jiu held her hand and kissed it, then pulled her close, saying, "Wufu, we are finally completely each other’s."

"We already were!" Wufu teased, opening his inner robe and blowing a breath.

Ah Jiu’s body trembled slightly, saying, "It’s different, now everyone knows you’re my Princess Consort, the future mother of my children."

The grand wedding, to the public was a declaration, to them, also a sense of ceremony.

For this life, only him (her), announce solemnly to heaven and everyone.

Wufu looked up, calling, "Ah Jiu."

"Mm?"

"Don’t you know a moment in spring is worth a thousand gold?" Wufu’s eyes half-closed, so many words, better to act, huh.

Ah Jiu’s mouth twitched, flipping her beneath him, saying, "Don’t regret saying this!"

Wufu drew close, regret? Never!

She would never say she’s sorry!

A moment in spring, amidst the rolling waves of red, the fire light danced, silently cheering for this new couple...
