Chapter 2027: Side Story 9: Scared Shitless
Just as Ah Jiu rode swiftly towards the Shu region, Wufu, whom he constantly thought of, was jolted awake by a surge of pain.
"It hurts so much!"
Wufu felt as though she had been crushed by something, it was excruciating, her entire body hurt, she forced herself to sit up, hissing from the cold air.
She glanced around, it was dark all around, with only a hole above her head through which the moonlight shone coldly into the cave.
The wind swept in, August had come, and the mountain breeze felt somewhat cold.
Wufu hugged herself, glancing around once more, had she fallen into a cave?
"Ah." Another wave of throbbing pain forced Wufu to moan.
She looked down at herself under the faint moonlight, utterly miserable, torn and bloodstained, but these were not important.
What mattered was the intense pain she felt. No, it was her abdomen that was throbbing with pain.
This pain was different from being stabbed, it was intermittent, coming and going.
Wufu’s heart tightened, she clutched her belly, her mind went blank, as she looked at her swollen belly saying, "Child, are you coming out now?"
As she uttered these words, her voice trembled, her heart quivering as well.
A word called fear surged in her mind.
As if responding to her question, her belly seized with another intense pain, making Wufu immediately panic.
She had fought battle after battle, her strength hadn’t returned, let alone the fact that she was still injured, and childbirth...
Wufu examined her surroundings again, it was vast and cold, definitely not the place for giving birth.
But she dared not delay, the pain in her abdomen was becoming more frequent. She needed to create favorable conditions for herself and the little rascal inside.
Wufu forced herself to stand despite the pain, and fished around herself, there was a small fortune in misfortune, the flint was still there. She glanced around in the moonlight, grabbed a handful of dry grass inside the cave, lit it with the flint, and in the firelight, she picked up a section of wood that had fallen from above near the cave mouth.
She quickly placed the wood on the grass and ignited it. By the time she had raised the burning stick, her forehead was sweating; it hurt too much.
Wufu gritting her teeth, held the torch up as she inspected the cave, looked at one side of the wall and pushed hard, it actually opened.
Inside revealed another cave, no, it should be a tomb.
Wufu stood at the entrance, held up the torch and looked around, a stone coffin was placed in the center, and the tomb walls were painted with colorful murals. She glanced briefly, it was a man in peculiar armor riding a horse.
Is this a general’s grave?
Wufu hesitated, looked down, and picked up a stone at her feet to prop the door, to prevent it from closing completely, then walked in, circled the coffin, and found it also painted with colorful designs.
Unexpectedly, this place hid an Ancient Tomb, and she didn’t know who was buried here, moreover, this tomb was not as magnificent as those seen in books or on TV, rather it was very simple.
Wufu’s steps paused, looked down, and saw droplets of water seeping from beneath her feet, forming a water stain around.
Did she, did she pee?
Wufu stepped back two steps, drops of water dripped from below her body, no, she hadn’t peed, her water broke!
The pain in her abdomen became sharper and more frequent, Wufu dropped the torch onto the ground, sitting down with a plop, and cried out loud, frightened.
