Lord: Stripped of My Inheritance from the Start

Chapter 491 - 464: The Fourth Blow

Chapter 491: Chapter 464: The Fourth Blow

Why was Garrett targeting Ridder?

Part of it was because Ridder had made him lose face back in Shore City, but it was mostly retaliation for Ronin’s disrespectful attitude.

While it wasn’t wise for him to do anything to Ronin, Ridder was merely his subordinate. Aside from his considerable strength, Ridder’s background was simple. Garrett could easily find an excuse to vent his frustrations on him, simultaneously warning Ronin and reminding him of the Crown Prince’s status.

As for any retaliation, he wasn’t worried.

He wouldn’t rashly move against Ronin, and likewise, he believed Ronin wouldn’t rashly move against him.

Ridder glanced at the four men surrounding him. He only knew that Garrett was a Silver Moon Knight; he was unfamiliar with the strength of the other three. However, as generals stationed at the border, their skills couldn’t be poor.

"Your Highness, if you truly believe this issue must be resolved with force, then I have nothing more to say. If you expect me to surrender without a fight, then I’m sorry, but that is something I cannot do."

Ridder’s tone was filled with resolve and courage. He drew the Longsword from his waist, its tip pointed toward the ground. "However, I must warn you all of something in advance. If you truly insist on a fight, don’t blame me if you get hurt."

"Arrogant!"

Garrett was completely enraged by Ridder’s attitude. He brazenly drew his own sword and shouted, "Seize this man for defying a military order!"

SWISH, SWISH, SWISH!

Following the rapid sound of slicing air, four men attacked Ridder from four different directions.

Although they weren’t aiming to kill and avoided vital spots, swords have no eyes. Once a fight began, who could perfectly control their strength?

Ridder stood tall and straight. With his enemies’ strength unknown, he chose to act with caution.

However, he couldn’t resolve this conflict by killing his opponents, either; after all, he had to consider Ronin’s position.

If he killed or maimed several of them before the war with the enemy kingdom had even begun, it would put Ronin in a difficult position.

As the distance between them closed rapidly, the air seemed to freeze.

The almost tangible Fighting Qi from the five men condensed into Fighting Qi Armor, clashing and surging against each other, filling the surrounding atmosphere with a murderous intent.

The Guards and Knights standing by immediately retreated to a safe distance upon seeing this. Getting too close to a battle between experts could easily result in death if one were caught in the crossfire.

’Two at Meteor Level, one at Silver Moon Level, plus Garrett, who’s also at Silver Moon Level.’

Ridder judged their strength from their auras. His figure flashed, appearing like a phantom before one of the Meteor Knights, and he smashed a heavy fist directly into the man’s chestplate.

The immense force of the impact sent the Meteor Knight flying like a kite with a broken string. He crashed heavily below the Griffin landing platform with a loud BOOM.

Seeing this, Garrett and the two remaining men roared in anger and raised their Longswords, surrounding Ridder from three sides.

"Let go!"

Ridder swirled his Longsword, pulling on the other three blades and forcing them to change direction.

At that moment, Garrett and the other two felt an immense force that made it difficult for them to control their Longswords.

The Meteor Knight in particular, when Ridder let out a short cry, lost his grip completely. His Longsword flew from his hand and landed some distance away, embedding itself in the ground.

With a THUD, Ridder sent the Meteor Knight flying with a kick, and he slammed into a wall.

At that same moment, however, the fists and feet of Garrett and the other Silver Moon Knight also struck Ridder.

He could have dodged or blocked, but he took the blows head-on.

The force of the collision blasted them apart, and all combatants retreated, creating distance.

The Fighting Qi Armor on Ridder wavered, but it quickly stabilized, and he swiftly regained his footing.

In contrast, Garrett and the other Silver Moon Knight staggered back several steps before coming to a halt.

Ridder, fighting one against four, was not at a disadvantage.

"Your Highness, violence will not solve the problem."

Ridder advised, "This brief exchange has been evenly matched. I suggest we stop here. If you have any arrangements for the defense, please tell me. As is our duty, my soldiers from West Wind Hill and I will cooperate fully."

Garrett never expected that an attack he was certain to win would end up like this.

This scene, combined with Ridder’s tone, reminded him of the day in the Golden Feather Palace when he, Ference, and Andrea had faced Ronin in a single-move showdown.

’Ronin could take on three opponents at once, and now his subordinate Ridder can take on four?’

Garrett couldn’t help but wonder, ’Could this man before me be a Proud Sun Knight?’

’Not only is Ronin a Proud Sun himself, but he even has a Proud Sun Knight under his command?’

"Yuge, use your ultimate move! Let’s test his true strength!"

Rage and indignation surged within Garrett. He manipulated his Thunderous Fighting Qi, condensing it into the form of a roaring tiger.

Yuge Kase hesitated for a moment but still obeyed the Crown Prince’s command. He condensed his Wind Attribute Combat Skill on his Longsword, forming a conical awl. A violent whirlwind churned the surrounding air, resonating with the crackling sound of thunder and creating a tempestuous aura.

Ridder did not dare to underestimate the killing moves of two Silver Moon Level Knights.

He rapidly circulated the Heaven-Burning Secret Scripture to purify his Fire Attribute Fighting Qi. Immense Power surged around him as the aura of a Proud Sun Knight erupted forth. The two injured Meteor Knights, who had been about to rejoin the fight, were frozen in place by the pressure, not daring to move.

"Piercing Wave!"

"Thunderbolt Roar!"

Garrett and Yuge roared as they unleashed their killing moves. The ground cracked and earth churned in their wake, the display of power absolutely astonishing!

"Heaven-Burning Sword!"

Ridder swung his Longsword, and his Heaven-Burning Fighting Qi condensed into two massive sword phantoms that shot through the air, powerfully colliding with his two opponents’ attacks.

RUMBLE!

A sound like thunder from the highest heavens echoed throughout Red Pine Castle, and for a moment, the very earth shook.

The surrounding Griffins shrieked in terror. One, then two, broke free from their tethers and flew into the sky. The massive shockwave swept over the landing platform, leaving it in a state of utter ruin.

The three-colored Combat Skills clashed, but in the end, Ridder’s attack broke through with overwhelming force, its remaining power striking Garrett and Yuge heavily.

Both men spat blood as they were sent flying, severely wounded!

Instantly, the clear sound of a Horn echoed throughout Red Pine Castle, and large numbers of Knights began swarming toward the location.

"Dammit, what the hell is going on?"

Outside the castle, a man in Heavy Armor with a massive, bear-like frame cursed angrily. He leaped from his Magical Beast mount, striding on air as he rushed toward the castle’s interior.

As the dust settled, Ridder stood firm in the center of the battlefield. The Fighting Qi Armor on his body slowly dissipated; he was completely unharmed by the exchange.

"Your Highness, let’s end this here!"

Ridder said in a low voice, "The Wushan Clan and the Oduin Clan have a close relationship. I do not wish to be the one to damage that friendship."

Garrett’s arm was covered in blood, and his expression turned savage.

’Without a doubt, this man is a Proud Sun Knight!’

’Just how much has that Ronin been hiding?’

"Ridder, do you think you can injure me and then end this matter with just a few casual words?"

Garrett was unwilling to accept it.

Ridder’s eyes narrowed. Though he was level-headed, it didn’t mean he was incapable of anger.

"That last attack was not my strongest. If we continue to fight, I can’t guarantee you’ll get off with just light injuries like this time."

"Hahaha, how arrogant!"

Garrett roared, "All Knight Orders, heed my command!"

In an instant, the surrounding Knights roared in response. They didn’t know Ridder’s identity and assumed an enemy had charged into their main camp.

However, even if they had known who Ridder was, they still would have obeyed Garrett’s command.

Ridder scanned his surroundings.

If these were all enemies, if they were Witch Soul Knights, he would have started a massacre long ago.

But this was Red Pine Castle, and these were the Kingdom’s soldiers.

Continuing to escalate the situation would only cause bigger trouble, which Ronin would ultimately have to bear the consequences for.

Ridder’s brow furrowed. Things having reached this point, his only choice to avoid further escalation was to find an opportunity to retreat first.
