Lord: Stripped of My Inheritance from the Start

Chapter 537 - 510: Defeat

Chapter 537: Chapter 510: Defeat

"You... How can you possibly..."

Garrett’s voice trembled. The scene before him completely overturned his understanding of reality.

He had clearly seen Ronin pierced by his Thunderbolt, reduced to nothing. Yet here his opponent was, descending from the sky like a phantom, completely unharmed.

The Clone Skill. He had, of course, heard of it.

But he had never heard of a Clone Skill that could fight him for so many rounds without dissipating.

Ronin chuckled, his eyes full of amusement. "Garrett, I used to think that despite being conceited, arrogant, and petty, you at least had some bottom line. That you knew to uphold the dignity and glory of the Oduin Royal Family. It seems I thought too highly of you."

"His Majesty ruled the Kingdom for so many years, balancing all the powers and steering the Kingdom away from war and toward prosperity. But you... for your own selfish desires, you not only abandoned your identity as a member of the Human Race to conspire with the Alien Races, but you even turned your sword on your own father and took his life."

"Shut up! You traitor who betrayed the King! Shut your mouth!"

Garrett grew desperate. His Thunderous Fighting Qi flared, stimulating his body and pushing his speed to its absolute limit as he swung his Great Sword viciously at Ronin.

The latter neither dodged nor retreated. He didn’t even use a Weapon.

He simply raised a hand, covering his palm with Extreme Elemental Power that formed a powerful protective barrier.

CLANG! Garrett’s Great Sword struck Ronin’s palm.

The protective barrier shuddered but did not break.

Ronin closed his hand, gripping the Great Sword tightly, then kicked Garrett, sending him flying.

"Someone like you—who murdered his own father, betrayed his country, slaughtered loyal Knights, and became a lapdog for a Demon God—is not worthy of being the Crown Prince of the Oduin Kingdom, nor are you worthy of inheriting the throne!"

Ronin’s words echoed across the entire square, but everyone’s minds were still stuck on that last blow.

Garrett was a Proud Sun Knight. With his Flame Seal activated, he was hailed as invincible below the Legendary level.

Yet this powerful Garrett couldn’t even take a single blow from Ronin.

So what level was Ronin?

"He’s gotten stronger again!"

Ference couldn’t believe it.

He had noticed it before: whenever Ronin’s Noble Title or territory expanded, the man’s power would surge dramatically.

It was just as he had suspected. This time, Ronin had become the Duke of Conqueror and obtained territories like Watchtower Castle and Mist City, and his strength had grown once more.

Ference didn’t understand the logic behind it, and given the current situation, he had no time to figure it out.

"What do we do?" Andrea asked, his voice laced with nervousness.

He was in his seventies or eighties and hadn’t been in such a perilous situation for a very long time. Today was an exception.

"It’s fine. As long as Serdil is here, we still have hope!"

In contrast to their tension, the other nobles and officials present, big and small, had much more complicated feelings.

Ronin had dared to say such things. Did that mean he was going to depose Garrett and vie for the throne?

They were very curious. Would Ronin crown himself King, despite not sharing the family name? Or would he support his wife or a future heir to become the ruler, while he governed the country as Regent King?

"Ronin, what is the meaning of this? Pledging loyalty to the Oduin Clan is the duty and responsibility of us Vassals!"

Viscount MacLaren of Screaming Island stepped forward to accuse him. "You may not approve of the Crown Prince, but you have no right to slander and defame His Highness! According to the law, you should be sentenced to death by hanging!"

Ronin glanced over, a cold light flashing in his eyes.

He didn’t say another word, simply instant-casting the Sixth-level Fire Dragon Devouring Heaven Magic and sending it straight at the viscount.

"How dare you!"

MacLaren panicked. It was too late to pull out a Scroll to defend himself.

Just as the Fire Dragon was about to devour him, Serdil flashed in front of him, raising both hands to conjure a thick Wall of Sighs that blocked the Fire Dragon.

A tremendous roar and tremor, accompanied by a violent shockwave, swept out in all directions, knocking the weaker nobles and Knights to the ground.

MacLaren was shaken. "Ronin, you’re insane! How dare you openly attack a noble of the Kingdom!"

Ronin sneered. "Viscount MacLaren, do you really think no one knows how many noble merchant ships Screaming Island has sponsored Pirate Gangs to rob over the years? Heh. I still haven’t settled the score with you for ordering Patridge to attack Rapids Island. For that alone, I can declare war on you and the Fleming Clan behind you!"

"You... you..."

MacLaren trembled with rage. Things like this were usually left unsaid, a tacit understanding between powers. He never expected Ronin to expose him so publicly.

"That’s slander!"

Garrett pushed himself up from the ground, panting heavily. The rage in his heart had reached its breaking point.

He had thought that after ascending to Proud Sun and obtaining the Flame Seal, he would be able to crush Ronin. He never imagined this would be the result.

"I don’t believe it!"

He roared suddenly and charged at Ronin again.

Ronin dodged to the side and simultaneously punched him in the face.

BAM!

Garrett was sent flying.

But in that instant, Ronin gave chase, landing another punch right where Garrett was about to land.

"This punch is for your father, His Majesty Bruno, who died an unjust death!"

Garrett, still in mid-air, had no time to adjust his posture before he was sent flying again.

Ronin repeated the move, catching up to him once more.

"This punch is for your sister, my wife, Blanche!"

"This punch is for Philimon and all the other loyal, respectable Knights who died unjustly at your hands!"

"This punch is for Willis and the other nobles and Knights who died in the battle of Mist City because of your recklessness!"

"And this last punch is for the Wushan Clan, and for myself..."

BAM! BAM! BAM!

Garrett didn’t stop flying through the air until the final punch sent him crashing into the floor.

His face was now severely swollen, completely devoid of the heroic bearing a Crown Prince should have.

Ronin’s punches weren’t powerful enough to be fatal, but this series of actions had ground Garrett’s dignity into the dust, again and again.

The Flame Seal on the Crown Prince’s brow flickered wildly. Dense patterns spread across his entire body, causing his aura to soar.

"Just die already!"

As he roared in fury, a massive phantom composed entirely of lightning appeared behind him.

The phantom brandished a colossal fist, brimming with its master’s rage, and raised it to smash down on Ronin.

In that instant, the world seemed to be replaced by a sea of purple as boundless lightning ravaged the surroundings!

The exquisite and expensive buildings were all torn to shreds by the lightning, the debris flying everywhere. Some Knights who couldn’t dodge in time were turned to charcoal by the onslaught.

Ronin swung his Flowing Flame Sword forward. Celestial Fire Scorched Earth transformed into an endless sea of Flame that enveloped the purple Thunderbolt, then powerfully devoured and crushed it, completely obliterating Garrett and the lightning phantom behind him.

RUMBLE~

The violent collision exploded like a clap of thunder. Everyone bore the brunt of the impact, feeling like lonely boats in a vast ocean, about to be capsized by any random wave.

"Too strong!"

"How can Ronin be this strong?!"

"With this kind of power, even dozens or hundreds of Knight Orders wouldn’t be able to do anything to him!"

Everyone trembled inwardly. From this day forward, they would have to re-evaluate their understanding of Ronin, of his power and terror.

At the same time, a question arose in their minds: ’If Ronin really does replace the Oduin Clan, what should we do?’

The ferocious shockwave took a long time to dissipate, leaving behind the devastated square and the ruins of Oduin Hall.

This sacred place, a symbol of power and status, would exist no more after today.

Along with it, Garrett had also disappeared. He was likely buried beneath the rubble.

"The Crown Prince... is dead?"
