Chapter 445: Putting It into Practice

"Mhm." Elder Ru Qi nodded in a pleased manner, seeing Yi Chen’s attitude, before finally addressing Yi Chen and the other two volunteers now that the mortal pill had been refined.

"The two of you may go now. Since the next two pills that I’ll be refining are going to be Immortal Pills, I’ll personally be handling the processing and refinement process using my spiritual energy to ensure the processed herbs aren’t influenced by their environment... thank you for your hard work, you two."

"Yes, Elder Ru Qi!"

Both of the disciples bowed gratefully and went to their seats soon after. Observing Elder Ru Qi from this close by had been a great learning experience for them.

It was at that time that Elder Ru Qi’s gaze fell on Yi Chen. Initially, she had planned to send all three volunteers back so that she could fully focus on creating the immortal pills, but after everything that had happened, she decided to let Yi Chen be there.

’Handling spiritual herbs for the first time would be a great learning experience for him.’ She thought with a smile and instructed, "Just like earlier, you’ll only be passing the specific herbs, understand?"

"Yes, Elder Ru Qi." Yi Chen instantly nodded after hearing those words, with eagerness to learn evident on his face.

"Let’s begin."

With that said, Elder Ru Qi nodded towards Huo Yin, who started placing the required ingredients on the table one after the other.

Meanwhile, Elder Ru Qi replaced all the used processing equipment with new ones, doing the same for the cauldron.

With the flame set at just the required intensity, the water was being warmed to the required temperature.

Seeing this, she finally decided to start processing the herbs.

"Twilight Grass, it’s..."

Just like before, before she could even point out the spot in which the herb was placed, Yi Chen instantly handed her the required herb.

"T-Thanks."

Taking the herb from Yi Chen’s hand, she started explaining its properties for everyone to hear, but meanwhile a completely different thought was going on in her mind.

’For an unranked pill refiner to be this knowledgeable...he’s truly impressive,’ Elder Ru Qi thought in an impressed manner as, using her spiritual energy, she separated the extract from the grass before placing it inside a beaker, the inside of which was laced with her spiritual energy.

"Diamond Headed Deer’s Horns."

"Here."

"Moonlight Yin Slumber Plant."

"Here."

Yi Chen kept providing a hand to Elder Ru Qi as before while eagerly observing Elder Ru Qi’s actions with great interest.

’So that’s how one utilises their spiritual energy in order to refine immortal pills...’ Yi Chen thought in amazement as time kept passing by, and before long the Low-grade Immortal Pill was formed.

However, that wasn’t the end, as without even taking a breather, Elder Ru Qi began refining the Mid-Grade Immortal Pill the very next moment.

As for Yi Chen, just like all the disciples present, he wasn’t exhausted in the least but instead was reinvigorated with energy, seeing Elder Ru Qi straightway rushing towards the next immortal pill.

The entire refining process continued for another few hours and only came to an end by the time it was three in the afternoon.

"That’s all for the first part today." Elder Ru Qi addressed everyone with a smile on her face after she had handed the refined pills to a few pill apprentices so that they could personally study it.

Clearing her throat, the next moment she continued, "Like I’ve said before, the next part, which will start after an hour’s break, would only be there for the High-Grade Pill Apprentices, so those who fulfil this criterion be sure to come on time, you understand?"

"Yes, Elder Ru Qi!"

Several Inner Disciples who had been sitting in the last rows exclaimed the very next moment.

"Mhm." Elder Ru Qi nodded in satisfaction at the response before turning towards Yi Chen, who was still standing on the teaching stage alongside her.

"Disciple Yi Chen, thank you for your help in this period. Would you like to accompany me and my two assistants for lunch? If you have any doubts related to the session, you can ask me there." Elder Ru Qi suggested with a welcoming smile.

"This..."

However, despite being an attractive proposal, Yi Chen was forced to refuse it.

"...I-I apologise, Elder Ru Qi, but I’ll have to refuse. After gaining so much from your lesson today, my hands are just itching to rush back to my pill refining room and try it out myself!

Once I’ve digested everything that you’ve taught us today, I’ll definitely contact you for guidance, I promise."

Hearing Yi Chen’s response, Elder Ru Qi couldn’t help but let out a slight chuckle and said, "Haha, you can leave then. Remember that you can always use the Sound Transmission Stone to contact me whenever you’re struggling with something urgent, you understand?"

"Yes, Elder Ru! I’ll keep your words in mind!" Yi Chen bowed to her gratefully, clearly understanding the benefits those words carried, as he turned around and took his leave soon after.

Seeing Yi Chen’s rushing figure, Elder Ru Qi let out another chuckle and muttered to herself in a voice that was clearly audible to her teaching assistants, "A bold and passionate young man... isn’t he?"

Huo Yin, who was standing next to Elder Ru Qi, couldn’t help but turn her gaze towards the empty doorway through which Yi Chen had just passed, a complex expression present on her face.

Meanwhile, the moment Yi Chen’s figure rushed out of the Enlightenment Pavilion, he was struck by the sun’s intense rays, making him squint his eyes as a result.

At the same time, his stomach also couldn’t help but growl subtly.

Growl~

However, not wanting to lose his drive, he decided to skip today’s lunch and rushed directly towards his pill refining room soon after.

"Let’s put everything that I learnt today into practice!" he exclaimed with conviction in his heart the very next moment and began refining the Sleeping Crane Pills the very next instant.
