Chapter 79 Emergency Rescue

Chapter 79: Chapter 79 Emergency Rescue

Ren Hao stood in front of two police cars with his men, sporting a triumphant look, clearly in a good mood.

After sending Lin Xi and Zhou Yan down another road, he advanced with his team, ready to strike the bandits’ lair directly.

But to be safe, he ordered two men to follow Zhou Yan.

Before they even reached the abandoned factory, two subordinates called to say the bandits were here.

He barely had time to think before getting a call from his subordinates at the Wang family home, reporting bandit activity.

Upon confirmation, he felt a surge of anger, like he had been greatly deceived, wasting so much time on this road for nothing.

He sped back and drove rapidly to the other side.

When they reached near the abandoned factory, he met with the two subordinates and learned Zhou Yan’s people hadn’t arrived yet, which improved his mood greatly.

It seemed the credit was his.

"Just petty thieves. Watch me make them surrender and admit their wrongs in ten seconds!" Ren Hao said jubilantly to his men.

Police are the nemesis of thieves; at the sight of them, thieves hesitate.

After all, desperados are rare in this society.

But as a group inside the factory stood up and headed for the exit, Ren Hao’s smug look froze. An old officer shouted,

"Disperse!"

"Get behind the cars!"

Others noticed their opponents wielding weapons that could easily outgun their current gear.

After they hid in trembling fear, a barrage of firepower rained down on them. Fortunately, their survival skills were well-trained.

Otherwise, like the police cars now, they would be riddled with holes!

"Damn, am I dreaming?" the old officer gasped, pulling out his gun and shouting incredulously.

Such total suppression had never occurred domestically before.

The youngest officers were trembling all over, terrified and clueless.

Ren Hao was also stunned, frozen in place.

"If you don’t want to die, grab your weapons now." The old officer remained calm, firing a shot inside and shouted at the others.

Zhou Yan, leaning against a wall, watched Ren Hao’s team being utterly suppressed and didn’t know what to say!

The bandit numbers were nearly double Ren Hao’s, and their weaponry overwhelmingly superior. They also had a better geographical position.

In such a situation, where did they get the confidence to force a surrender!

So the only possibility was that Ren Hao’s team didn’t have full information, yet still tried to flaunt their power and demand the bandits release Miss Wang.

This was utterly foolish! How did he become a team leader?

Zhou Yan really didn’t want to think further. All she could do was hope they held out until the special police arrived, or else it was all over.

"Hmm, where’s he?" When she turned around, Lin Xi was gone.

Actually, Lin Xi hadn’t vanished. He was now gripping a window ledge five meters above the ground, quietly peeking inside.

Inside was a small room, about ten square meters, with two people.

One held a gun, standing at the door with their back to the window, tense, focused downstairs. The other was bound by legs and arms, with fabric over their mouth.

The bound person was a young woman, in trousers and a shirt, wearing black-framed glasses, looking just like a doctoral student from a United States movie, yet extremely beautiful; dressed stylishly, she could rival Zhou Yan’s allure downstairs.

She looked haggard, especially upon hearing gunfire from below, appeared very anxious, struggling a bit.

This person was Wang Xian, whom Lin Xi had seen on surveillance video.

"Stay quiet, or I’ll shoot you!" The armed person turned, impatiently shouted.

By the time they looked downstairs again, Lin Xi had silently opened the window and swiftly leaped onto the ledge.

"Shh!"

Lin Xi gestured for the startled Wang Xian to remain silent. Wang Xian, being smart, nodded, eyes wide, motionless, watching Lin Xi.

"Looks like I should deal with this guy first, and without alerting those downstairs!" Lin Xi thought after glancing down.

If downstairs noticed, upstairs would be attacked by gunfire.

Lin Xi himself could surely survive, but Wang Xian’s safety would be uncertain, considering those below were crazed, and their weapons powerful.

But quietly handling this person wouldn’t be too hard for Lin Xi.

In the next moment, Lin Xi leaped into the room from the window, like a feather, making no sound.

His hand formed a blade, struck the bandit’s neck, knocking them unconscious immediately.

Lin Xi supported the falling person, dragging them to rest against the door with their face inward. Even if someone below glanced up, they wouldn’t notice anything amiss, just find it odd.

At present, this situation left them no time to check upstairs.

Walking towards Wang Xian, she pulled back slightly. Lin Xi softly spoke, "Don’t worry, I’m here to save you."

After explaining, Lin Xi then moved to untie the fabric from Wang Xian’s mouth and the ropes on her wrists and ankles.

"Thank you!" Wang Xian sincerely appreciated.

"You’re welcome, now stand aside a bit," said Lin Xi.

Wang Xian got up and moved away, her face turning pale seeing the bullets flying below, instinctively retreating to the window side.

Lin Xi signaled her to stay calm and began fashioning something from the bedding, tearing a quilt cover into a long rope-like structure.

He proceeded to twist the bedsheet into another long rope-like piece.

He tightly knotted the ends of the two together, creating a length of over three meters, which Lin Xi tugged a few times to ensure it was secure.

"Don’t be afraid, it’s okay." Lin Xi assured Wang Xian when standing in front of her.

Wang Xian nodded firmly as Lin Xi leaned out the window, softly called, "Over here!"

Zhou Yan looked up, truly startled; she thought Lin Xi had run away, then suddenly he appeared upstairs.

This was over five meters up, without stairs or any climbing points.

But she couldn’t worry about such things now and ran over swiftly.

Soon, she saw Lin Xi putting someone on the window ledge, which greatly surprised her. Was she supposed to catch them?

"What are you doing? Put her back!" Zhou Yan whispered to Lin Xi, very tense.

Brother, this isn’t one meter; it’s over five meters.

If she jumps down, someone could actually die!

Not just one person, she herself would likely be crushed too.
