Chapter 2134 - 2135: Extraordinary Extractor

Chapter 2134: Chapter 2135: Extraordinary Extractor

Two days later, Angel emerged from the hidden room.

As soon as he returned to the study, Angel saw the Tree Spirit.

At this moment, he was still sitting in front of the desk reading a book. However, the book he was reading now was no longer the Culori Chronicles, but the previously read Catalog of Mysterious Items.

Every time the Tree Spirit read one of the Catalogs of Mysterious Items, he was amazed.

He also marveled at the breadth of Culori’s knowledge. After all, mysterious objects are extremely rare in the Southern Domain; even knowing that someone might possess a mysterious artifact doesn’t mean knowing its appearance and function. Just like how the Tree Spirit still doesn’t know what the Resentment Puppet in Sanders’ possession does.

In such cases, even if many publishers wish to, they are powerless to compile a Catalog of Mysterious Items.

Yet Culori not only compiled one, but several volumes. He described the appearance, efficacy, and even some avoidance methods of mysterious objects. How could the Tree Spirit not be impressed?

However, the Tree Spirit’s admiration gradually stopped as a white Spatial Capsule was thrown in front of him.

"Inside this is the refined log-in device. Would you like to take a look?"

The Tree Spirit was momentarily stunned before he realized Angel had come out of the hidden room and tossed the log-in device in front of him.

The Tree Spirit quickly extended his hand and picked up the Spatial Capsule.

This was a one-time spatial artifact; the Tree Spirit didn’t open it to look but instead used his spiritual power to probe inside.

The image that spiritual power feedback fed back instantly appeared in his mind—

Heaps of tools casually piled together, almost forming a small mountain. Even without counting, it was apparent that this pile of log-in devices numbered at least several hundred.

Moreover, the styles of these log-in devices were quite distinctive. Glasses, wristbands, hats, earrings, and other types all appeared.

For example, the eyeglass type included a monocle, regular spectacles, a head-mounted goggle, and a ring-shaped monocle, each with a different design.

The Tree Spirit was dazzled by the sight.

Previously, he had discussed the styles of these log-in devices with Angel, but at the time, they merely considered choosing one. He didn’t expect Angel to refine them all... and even a brilliantly blue Crystal Ball.

"Did you refine all of these?" the Tree Spirit asked in a daze.

"..." Angel didn’t reply to this meaningless question: "Since it’s the first time refining, let’s try a little of everything and see which ones are more popular. Then we’ll know which type to refine more in the future. By the way, the log-in count is currently set at 999 times. Although it can be increased, it would take quite a while."

"How long?" the Tree Spirit asked subconsciously.

Angel replied, "Maybe over a week?"

"If it takes a week to refine, then it indeed takes much longer," the Tree Spirit nodded in agreement, thinking Angel meant one could be refined per week, unaware that Angel referred to refining several hundred in a week.

Angel saw the Tree Spirit’s misunderstanding but didn’t bother to explain. He knew that with time, after refining more, the Tree Spirit would figure it out on his own.

"I’ll take the log-in device to Rhein now." The Tree Spirit said, "By the way, how many are there in total?"

"299," Angel said, providing a number that would be discomforting for those with OCD. It wasn’t deliberate; he had refined 300, but kept the one with the highest log-in count in reserve to give to Frode. Frode, who frequently pulls people into the Wilderness of Dreams, was running low on log-in attempts, so it was timely to replace it.

Although the number 299 was peculiar, the Tree Spirit couldn’t help but be astonished at the large quantity: "So many?! You actually refined all of them in two days?"

The Tree Spirit was surprised not only because of the large number but more importantly because each log-in device had a different design, with no vague shapes, clearly all well-designed.

The chain reaction from design to quantity was what truly amazed the Tree Spirit.

Finally, the Tree Spirit left the ruins full of sighs.

After the Tree Spirit left, Angel paused for a moment in silence before taking out the three items he obtained from the storage analysis table earlier—white porcelain rod, pure white metal brick, and transparent sphere.

The Tree Spirit had been amazed that Angel refined 299 different log-in devices in two days. In fact, Angel spent half an hour looking for design pictures in the holographic tablet, took a day and a half to refine them, and spent the remaining half day investigating the unresolved mysteries in the hidden room.

For example, these three items; or the medium-sized mechanical device in the cabinet, whose top resembled a miniature display platform.

Angel toyed with the three distinct items before eventually putting them away.

He had spent a long time in the hidden room investigating and had basically confirmed that these three items were likely the treasures mentioned by Culori in his last chronicles, left for future explorers of the hidden room.

According to the chronicles he wrote—"These are half-finished products eliminated from the Tesiumyr’s Mirror. Although they cannot be used as mysterious objects, a good Alchemist could blend them to create an excellent alchemy tool~"

Angel did not know what the Tesiumyr’s Mirror was, but from the context, it seemed to be a kind of mysterious object Culori was attempting to refine.

Since it mentioned a mirror, Angel speculated that the silvery white brick might be a base, the white porcelain rod a mirror support, and the silvery liquid inside the transparent sphere perhaps the mirror surface?

Of course, this was purely Angel’s speculation, without any evidence, just fanciful thoughts.

Nevertheless, since they were referred to by Culori as semi-finished products eliminated from mysterious objects, it could be assumed they have some foundation for becoming mysterious, albeit very small.

For this reason, Angel did not plan to casually blend them as Culori suggested. Instead, he intended to wait until successfully mastering the Darkening Technique to try, perhaps hoping for a miracle.

Apart from these three semi-finished items, Angel also studied the mechanical equipment he had never seen.

Compared to the obscure research on the semi-finished items, this mechanical equipment was much easier to study.

Although its appearance was an integrated whole with no apparent entry points, by activating it, its purpose quickly became clear without worrying about the exterior.

Upon activation, Angel indeed figured out its function very quickly.

Based on this function, Angel deduced the true name of this mechanical equipment.

This was the Extraordinary Extractor, a legendary device spoken of among Mechanical Alchemists but never seen before.

The reason for this claim is that the method of refining the Extraordinary Extractor has been lost in the Southern Domain’s alchemy circle.

The Extraordinary Extractor, as the name suggests, extracts transcendent traits from extraordinary items.

The extracted transcendent traits can be used in experiments and alchemy. However, they are more often used in spell techniques or other types of experiments because the extracted transcendent trait’s strength generally is not particularly strong. Even if assigned to alchemy tools, it’s likely at best intermediate rank, more likely low quality, or even of no grade at all.

This is because the extraction by the Extraordinary Extractor isn’t outright deprivation, but rather limited exploitation.

Deprivation would completely extinguish the extraordinary traits of an extraordinary item, turning it into a mundane object; exploitation, at most, only squeezes out some of its extraordinary traits. And generally, the amount of extraordinary traits extracted is certainly less than through deprivation.

The only regret is that the Extraordinary Extractor in the hidden chamber is not a general-purpose one but a specially designed type; it only targets magical minerals, capable of extracting extraordinary traits from medium to low-quality magical minerals.

Even so, the Extraordinary Extractor is a quite excellent piece of apparatus. Although its effects in alchemy are limited, to some extent, it can assist in alchemy.

One could say that Angel’s biggest gain from returning to the hidden bedroom is this Extraordinary Extractor.

...

Tree Spirit reappeared inside the ruins about half an hour later. At the same time, he brought a message from Lord Rhein.

"Lord Rhein wants me to come over?"

Tree Spirit: "Yes. You’ll know exactly what it’s about when you get there."

Angel nodded, speculating on Lord Rhein’s intentions as he walked out of the ruins.

Although it’s just mid-Harvest Month, the plateau’s weather always disregards the seasons. The cold wind howled ceaselessly, and sparse snowflakes floated down from the gloomy sky.

Following the direction of the cold wind, Angel headed south and soon arrived at the chasm leading to the Mirror World.

Before entering the chasm, Angel saw the silhouette of Rhein.

Through the swirling wind and snow, Angel could clearly see Rhein standing at the edge of the chasm, speaking softly with two people.

These two people were also not strangers to Angel; they were Maya and her apprentice, returned from Starseer Day.

"Witch Maya." Angel descended slowly from the sky, nodding to the elderly witch leaning on a staff. Then he looked at the young man beside her, "Dororo."

Dororo’s eyes flashed with a spark of light upon hearing Angel’s voice.

Maya smiled in return to Angel, then turned to Rhein: "Since Angel has arrived, I won’t disturb you any longer. I’ll go back and organize the gains from this Starseer Day."

"Alright, I’ll find you for a detailed chat later," Rhein nodded, watching Maya and Dororo as they jumped into the chasm.

Once their figures completely disappeared, Rhein turned to Angel: "I was originally just waiting for you here, not expecting that Witch Maya would also return at this moment. Seeing Dororo safe and sound, I’m relieved."

Dororo made a remarkable impression on Starseer Day, and Rhein’s esteem for him naturally rose day by day, worrying that something might go wrong halfway, hence his remark.

Angel was very pleased for Dororo’s recognition but did not speak much on it at this moment, instead asking about the purpose of his visit.

Rhein did not immediately answer but simply extended his hand, holding Angel’s wrist.

With a gentle pull from Rhein, before Angel could react, the surroundings underwent a drastic change.

He found himself in the vast void.

However, this void was different from the outside void, with a burning, intense fireball in the sky above, emitting a bright glow.

Below their feet was a floating magic carpet, supporting their weight and preventing them from falling.

Angel, after briefly sensing the surroundings, immediately understood that he was in Rhein’s Exile Space.

Exile Space is often used by Wizards to dump toxic and harmful waste or temporarily detain some beings, hence its nickname as an Exile Prison. But more often, it’s known as the most private place for Wizards, because here, no matter what you do or say, no information will be leaked, not even Prophet Wizards can lock onto the happenings inside using Divination.

Thus, seeing Rhein pulling him into the Exile Space made Angel understand that Rhein must have very private matters to discuss with him.

Sure enough, Rhein’s words confirmed Angel’s suspicions.

"The main reason I brought you here is to borrow the Dream Conch to transfer some precious demonic materials into the Wilderness of Dreams and also to first attempt some small experiments."

As he spoke, Rhein lightly waved his hand.

At the end of the dark void, an entire circle of dazzling demonic materials floated over.

Angel glanced at the section concerning magical minerals and was stunned.

Piles of top-grade Demon Bloodstone forming a small mountain, dazzling Stellar Stones, a tower built of Stellar Iron, Cold Winter minerals... and even a heap of priceless Abyss Secret Gold, Abyss Mithril, and Illusion Spirit Diamonds that only Legendary Wizards could synthesize.

This was just the magical minerals; there were also other demonic materials, as well as semi-finished and finished alchemy products, and a large number of Magic Rune Scrolls.

Angel gulped, suppressing the urge to stretch out his hands, and barely managed to shift his attention away from the extravagant demonic materials around him.

But even so, when Angel closed his eyes, he still felt a dazzling gleam.

"Is this the foundation of the Barbarian Cave?" Angel’s voice was trembling slightly.

Rhein smiled and shook his head: "This is just a very small portion; there are more precious items, but those cannot be brought out. Even if we want to display grandeur at a Tea Party, those things are unsuitable to be presented."

"Just these are enough to handle one Extraordinary City."

Rhein spoke freely, but this wastefulness was only possible in the Wilderness of Dreams. If he were to use these materials in reality to build an Extraordinary City? Even if merely a thousandth or ten-thousandth of these demonic materials were used, he would never agree.

Due to the excessive radiance of the demonic materials around, Angel’s focus kept being diverted, so he took a deep breath and retrieved the Dream Conch from the Moonlit Coast from his bracelet, saying, "Shall I start now?"

Rhein: "Yes, and as I recall, you can pinpoint the location, right?"

Angel nodded: "The Gateway of Dreams can pinpoint it."

"Good, Lianna sent me a message just now that she built an underground hall in the center of the New City big enough to house all the materials; set the landing point for the demonic materials there."

Angel closed his eyes, perceived the exact location through the Ability Tree, then nodded, and activated the Dream Conch.

Upon activating the Dream Conch, no abnormal phenomena occurred.

Rhein only felt a wave of mystical energy, and then everything returned to normal.
