Chapter 3126: Chapter 3127: Pile of Physical Objects
Angel glanced again at Miumiu’s situation, she was trying to train the pigeon scouting squad, hoping to cultivate a captain.
Seeing her demeanor, it’s estimated she doesn’t plan to do the main quest right now.
Such a choice is actually not wrong.
This time the main quest gives extremely vague clues, it’s not clear who to look for; the only thing that’s clear is that the other party keeps changing "identity," but the essence remains the same person.
According to current intelligence, it certainly won’t be found in the short term; it will take dozens or even hundreds of cycles before some hint can be discovered.
Given such a long time needed, and having to find corresponding clues, being anxious now is useless. Miumiu prioritizing the cultivation of a captain for the pigeon scouting squad, to patrol the town on her behalf and find abnormal events, is indeed the wisest choice currently.
While Miumiu began preparing for long-term operations, Angel withdrew his gaze.
He originally thought of contacting Miumiu, but upon reflection, decided against it. He can’t offer any help right now if he contacts her; all he can do is talk about external intelligence, but outside information is also dispensable for Miumiu.
She’s not been in contact with Crystal Origin of Dreams for long, and lacks any sense of belonging; saying too much about Crystal Origin of Dreams now would be like listening to gibberish.
Instead of talking about floating topics, he should wait for her to successfully break through Tomorrow Town’s immortal realm and personally experience life in Crystal Origin of Dreams.
Tomorrow Town won’t be ending anytime soon; Angel didn’t continue to linger and went offline.
...
Heart Space.
When Angel opened his eyes, he found that Luigi had returned, sitting at the desk, and under the bright illusionary light from the window, was watching the "Night Sparrow’s Flying Rhapsody." He was reading while smacking his lips, seemingly humming the tune from the score.
Not only had Luigi arrived, but Angel also saw Glaipnir and Laplace.
Glaipnir was sitting near the Heart Wall, manipulating the light points on it, allowing the Heart Space to cruise on the surface of the Sea of Void Mirror, searching for real objects possibly washed ashore.
And Laplace was hovering behind Glaipnir, quietly watching the Sea of Void Mirror.
Angel’s awakening was detected by them immediately.
However, Luigi only moved his ears but didn’t lift his head, continuing to look at the score. Glaipnir remained motionless, solely focused on watching the Sea of Void Mirror.
Only Laplace turned to look at Angel and asked lightly, "Offline?"
Angel nodded: "Just went to see the new resident who fell alone into the immortal realm... What are you doing?"
Briefly explaining, Angel walked out of the Illusion Technique Hut, heading near the Heart Wall.
"Have you found anything?" Angel curiously approached.
With Glaipnir and Laplace gathered, it seems something good might have washed up nearby?
Laplace pointed to a spot on the ground: "Indeed, there are some findings. They’re piled up here."
Following her finger, Angel noticed Laplace was pointing at a "small mountain" beside Glaipnir.
"All of these were fished out from the Sea of Void Mirror?" Angel asked somewhat surprised.
Laplace nodded: "That’s right, all of them."
With this answer, Angel couldn’t help but flash an astonished expression in his eyes.
Previously, he actually saw this piled mountain-like stuff but just thought it was some random debris brought by Glaipnir.
Even though Angel wondered why Glaipnir brought debris, he never thought this mountain of debris was scooped up from the Sea of Void Mirror... because there was simply too much!
The larger ones even included a three-meter tall tree, while smaller ones were full of stones with various strange patterns, piled four or five meters across.
"How come there’s so much?" Angel still couldn’t quite believe it.
He’s been trying to "fish" here frequently these days but never came at the right time and saw shadows of actual objects.
Later, to repay Angel’s "tide of questions" kindness, Luigi even promised him that he would help fish objects out if he saw them, but similarly, there had been no "delivery" these past days.
Angel wondered if Luigi had been lazy or this area of the Sea of Void Mirror had been emptied by the Ancient Tooth Fairy.
In the end, so much was fished out today?
"When we returned from Rabbit Mountain, we noticed an anomaly at a nearby ’Sea Eye.’ This situation is highly likely to blow out some real objects."
Thus, after arriving at Heart Space, Glaipnir swiftly manipulated Heart Space to quickly move to areas where real objects might appear.
Sure enough, within just half an hour, all of this was fished out.
"What are... these?" Angel’s throat moved, his eyes shining as he looked at the real objects with anticipation.
His awaited lottery time... no, blind-box opening time was finally here?!
As if noticing Angel’s thoughts, Laplace stated lightly, "Actually, this isn’t much, because most of the items here are of no significant use."
While speaking, Laplace waved her hand, dividing the mountain-like items into three piles.
They occupied fifty percent, forty percent, and ten percent of the total real objects respectively.
"These here are just ordinary items, or once were Extraordinary Items, but their transgression traits had been completely washed away by the Sea of Void Mirror, turning them into ordinary items," Laplace pointed to the pile occupying fifty percent of the total, saying.
Angel instinctively used the Eye of Nalda to take a look; indeed, the heap which occupied the majority showed no extraordinary fluctuations.
However, even if they’re just ordinary items, through the washing of the Sea of Void Mirror, they transformed into natural real objects. Natural real objects can still fetch some money in the Mirror Domain.
"Is this... carbonized wood?" While Angel observed the heap, Laplace took out something resembling a black peculiar stone from these ordinary objects, because Angel hadn’t closed the Eye of Nalda, and the feedback from the deep-seated "server" showed it was a form of carbonized wood.
Carbonized wood comes from ancient trees that survive natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and mudslides, being forced into low-lying riverbeds, forming under long-term low-oxygen high-pressure and microbial action.
Using Jon’s words, this is known as ebony or gloomy wood.
This kind of carbonized wood in the Southern Domain, though also rare, is merely ordinary timber. Even if it once was an extraordinary tree, after countless years of burial, its extraordinary traits have mostly escaped with time, practically useless now.
However, Angel did hear that at Shakaburi Academy in the Hills of Null Silence, there was a topic on researching ancient transcendent tree species using charcoal wood. The "Forest of Time" also included related papers, but they didn’t cause much of a stir.
"Yes," Laplace said, "Your Wizards call this wood charcoal wood, but in the Mirror Domain, we consider it a kind of fragrant wood."
"Fragrant wood?" Angel sniffed with his nose, but he didn’t detect any scent.
"The so-called fragrance is not the human definition of aroma, but the scent as defined by the Fragrance Seeking Tribe." Laplace explained.
The Fragrance Seeking Tribe is a group in the Daylight Mirror Domain that isn’t particularly powerful, even weaker than the Ghosts’ tribe, yet the entire Fragrance Seeking Tribe is considered an upper-middle-level race in the Daylight Mirror Domain.
The main reason is that they can create unique incense powders.
The incense powders made by the Fragrance Seeking Tribe are not the same as the fragrances pursued by Witches. Most incense powders lack what one would typically call aroma; instead, they are more akin to medicinal powders with special effects.
Many unique scents at the Trade House of Ancient Tooth Fairy Ruins are considered highly sought-after commodities.
Angel: "Incense powder? I remember previously seeing a type called Pathway Incense Powder in the commodity list at the City of Hot Gold Ruins branch..."
At the time, Angel thought it was some kind of fragrance. Later, he realized it was actually a tool exclusively for Mirror Ghosts.
Mirror Ghosts emerging from the Gloomy Mirror Domain are fond of Pathway Incense Powder, reportedly because it allows them to maintain their energy form for extended periods. Therefore, Pathway Incense Powder from the Ancient Tooth Fairy Ruins is usually monopolized by Resentful Women Town.
"That’s right, Pathway Incense Powder is indeed made by the Fragrance Seeking Tribe," Laplace nodded. "And because the Fragrance Seeking Tribe also purchases fragrant wood in large quantities, the price of fragrant wood is never low."
"So, although this piece of fragrant wood doesn’t have any extraordinary traits, its value is likely the highest among this heap of items. If it’s a fragrant wood transformed from some special type of wood, its price would be even higher."
The reason Laplace specifically pointed out the fragrant wood was because, among this heap of ordinary items, it was like a pearl amidst the ashes.
Having introduced the ordinary items, Laplace moved on to another pile of items.
This pile of items took up 40% of the total volume.
However, in reality, this pile consisted of only two types: a three-meter-tall tree and a pile of stones with red patterns.
The tree had no leaves, only two red fruits. Its bark was black, but upon closer inspection, a faint blood-red glow was visible beneath the black bark.
Even without using mental tendrils, Angel could sense the faint blood energy emanating from the tree.
Moreover, it was transcendent blood energy.
There was no doubt that this was a transcendent Demon Plant... though its energy level wasn’t high, likely due to being washed by the Sea of Void Mirror.
Transcendent Demon Plants generally have powerful vitality, and this tree is no exception. More than 90% of its roots were severed, and its branches had become fragile, clearly in a languishing state, yet... it was not dead. In fact, once it arrived in the Heart Space, its roots continued to slowly grow, trying to take root in the Heart Space.
But with its root strength, attempting to breach the Heart Wall was futile.
"This tree is the Divine Blood Tree; however, your Wizards refer to it as the Beast Blood Tree." Laplace approached the tree, and with a swirl of silver-white hair, she picked a red fruit from the tree: "Divine Blood Fruit, or Beast Blood Fruit, you should be familiar with it."
As she spoke, Laplace handed the fruit to Angel.
Angel nodded. The Beast Blood Fruit comes from the Wild Realm and is a transcendent fruit. All bloodlines originating from the Wild Realm can be refined by consuming the Beast Blood Fruit, which increases purity.
Among Bloodline Wizards of the Southern Domain, a significant portion choose bloodlines of Magical Creatures from the Wild Realm, making Beast Blood Fruit a valuable Demonic Material in the Southern Domain.
However, the Beast Blood Fruit has some drawbacks, and it’s unlikely to sell for a particularly high price. In terms of Magic Crystals, they generally don’t exceed three digits.
Angel carefully examined the Beast Blood Fruit to confirm it had no other unique aspects, then set it aside.
"The Beast Blood Tree comes from the Wild Realm... does that mean these items are all from the Wild Realm?" Angel looked curiously at the pile of items.
Since they emerged simultaneously from the same Sea Eye, these items were most likely from the same place.
"Yes, they should all come from the Wild Realm," Laplace said. She then pointed at the stone with blood-red patterns beside it: "This is Boiling Stone."
Angel nodded; he had already discerned what it was.
Boiling Stone, also known as Boiling Blood Stone, can activate the bloodline of Barbarians. Specifically, it triggers... the boiling of Barbarian blood. For Wizards, it’s of no use unless a Wizard has implanted a Barbarian bloodline. However, Barbarian bloodlines are closely linked with Wild Gods, and Barbarian bloodlines themselves aren’t strong, so standard Wizards wouldn’t choose to implant Barbarian bloodlines.
Nonetheless, Boiling Stone has its value; it serves as hard currency within various Barbarian tribes in the Wild Realm and can be used as a trading currency among Barbarians.
But Boiling Stone holds little value for Angel, as he currently has no plans to visit the Wild Realm.
Since the first two piles of items weren’t particularly useful, Angel naturally shifted his focus to the final pile.
The last pile of items accounted for less than 10% of the total volume.
The final pile consisted of only two palm-sized glass bottles.
Both glass bottles were transparent, allowing the contents to be seen. One contained a pale yellow liquid, somewhat viscous, and when shaken, one could see sparkling points of light within the liquid.
The other bottle’s contents were something Angel couldn’t comprehend; at first glance, it seemed to hold shattered, tiny mirror fragments, glinting with colorful streaming lights, but upon closer inspection, it resembled an iridescent light mist, just cut into pieces.
Even though separated by a glass, Angel couldn’t determine the interior’s true form: liquid, gas, solid, or perhaps none of these?
Perhaps noticing Angel’s confusion about the iridescent bottle, Laplace explained: "Contained inside are memory fragments."
Memory fragments.
Angel paused for a moment before recalling that what the Sea of Void Mirror predominantly produces is memory fragments, and the Ancient Tooth Fairy even sells them.
However, Angel remembered that extracting memory fragments required Aggregation Energy and a special method, making it one of the materials used for Temporal Bodies.
Since it wasn’t particularly useful to him, he hadn’t paid much attention.
"These were the memory fragments extracted from the visual images accompanying other items that emerged from the Sea Eye." Laplace said indifferently, "Upon inspection, the memories seem to come from a subordinate of a Wild God... No fascinating images, although the appearance of that Wild God’s subordinate seemed quite interesting."
In short, this bottle of memory fragments, Laplace planned to use for crafting a temporary Temporal Body.
Realizing the bottle only contained memories for Laplace’s creation of a Temporal Body, Angel’s interest naturally waned, and he shifted his gaze to the remaining glass bottle.
So far, the salvaged items were numerous, but none seemed valuable, and none appeared usable for him.
Now, it rested upon what the pale yellow liquid in the bottle entailed, and whether it could be suitable for him.
