Chapter 3328: Chapter 3329: Bimon Deity
"Knockby has a Deity’s bloodline?" Luigi rubbed his chin, smacked his lips a few times in a low mutter as he spoke, his gaze drifting as though pondering something.
Suddenly, he opened one hand, clenched the other into a fist, and slapped them together: "Right, didn’t we talk about Bimon before?"
"And Bimon corresponds to a Deity, doesn’t it!"
Luigi looked at Angel and Laplace, clearly seeking their agreement in his eyes.
With Luigi bringing it up, Angel also remembered.
Previously, they had discussed why Nak Su had given himself another name, "Bimon." At the time, Laplace had mentioned a rumor.
It was said that in the Druna Plane there was an ancient Beast God whose name was "Bimon."
However, this Beast God named "Bimon" had disappeared a very, very long time ago and seemed to have already fallen.
Because it was tens of thousands of years ago, a lot of useful information had long since been worn away by time; even Laplace herself couldn’t be sure it was true. So Laplace had only followed along the name "Bimon" and mentioned it in passing. She hadn’t truly believed Nak Su had any connection to that legendary Deity.
Luigi had held roughly the same opinion as Laplace back then, treating it as nothing more than a coincidence in names, without overthinking it.
But now, Little Red had clearly said that there was something abnormal in Knockby’s bloodline, suspected to be a divine bloodline.
This made Luigi unable not to think deeper.
Bimon is the name of a Beast God of the Druna Plane; Nak Su inexplicably gave himself the name "Bimon"; "Bimon" disappeared tens of thousands of years ago; and right now Knockby has a divine bloodline inside him...
Combining all this information, Luigi substituted out a conclusion he personally felt had high credibility: the Invention Mouse lineage might very well be the remnant bloodline of Bimon.
It might not be Bimon the Deity’s direct bloodline; after all, if it were truly direct, their strength wouldn’t be this trash.
Most likely they only carry some collateral bloodline, or are descendants of blood diluted countless times.
Luigi voiced his conjecture.
Angel and Laplace, for their part, did somewhat believe it, yet inwardly still largely held a skeptical attitude. Because Luigi’s inference might be logically workable, but in the end lacked evidence.
Without solid proof, no matter how true it might be, you can’t fully trust it.
Still, if in the future they really intend to dig deeper, Luigi’s speculation could serve as a primary research direction.
Angel was mulling over this when a few words from Little Red pulled him back from his "suspended imaginings" to the "reality before his eyes."
Little Red: "Even though I’ve never heard of the Deity ’Bimon,’ I still think Harp Brother makes a lot of sense."
"Why?" Angel asked reflexively.
Little Red said solemnly, "Because Harp Brother said earlier that Bimon is an Outer God from the Druna Plane. I also think Knockby’s bloodline might come from the Druna Plane."
Angel still didn’t understand what Little Red meant. How was she judging that Knockby’s bloodline came from the Druna Plane?
Does the bloodline of Life from the Druna Plane have some unique trait?
Yet Little Red’s answer surprised Angel: she didn’t know how to identify a Life’s bloodline from the Druna Plane.
The reason Little Red believed Knockby might carry Druna bloodline came from another detail he had overlooked.
—The pointed fruit.
The pointed fruit also comes from the Druna Plane.
The pointed fruit is a special fruit; eating it grants all kinds of wondrous abilities. And these abilities basically all originate from Druna’s Deities.
There’s a rumor that the reason the pointed fruit can grant powerful abilities to the Life that consumes it is because the fruit actually contains divine blood. The more concentrated the divine blood in the fruit you eat, the stronger the ability you gain; while those pointed fruits cultivated from divine blood diluted countless times yield abilities weakened along with the dilution.
However, no matter how weak, there will definitely be residual information of the Outer Gods inside a pointed fruit.
Don’t forget, Knockby had just eaten a pointed fruit not long ago. Even though Laplace said this particular fruit had no hidden dangers, it must still contain the power of the Druna Deities.
In theory, after Knockby ate this fruit imbued with special power, there should definitely be a rejecting aura on him.
For example, right now the Dog House is shrouded by Angel’s Illusion Technique; on the surface, they blend in perfectly with the furniture and decorations created by the Illusion Technique, as if indistinguishable. But they themselves are very clear that the Illusion Technique’s Energy around them and the Aggregation Energy within their bodies are completely different things.
Just in terms of Energy properties, they’re fundamentally incompatible.
By the same logic, when Knockby is in a foreign Energy environment, or ingests Energy from another world, the scent he gives off and the surrounding Energy must be distinct.
With Little Red’s Special Ability, she can easily sniff out these differences.
What’s more, Knockby had only just ingested the pointed fruit from the Otherworld; Little Red is even less likely to overlook any discrepancy in scent, but...
"I carefully sniffed him just now; there’s absolutely no abnormal aura on Knockby." Little Red: "Under normal circumstances, after Knockby swallowed the pointed fruit, completely digesting the Alien Energy inside it would absolutely not be something achievable in a short time."
"But right now, I don’t smell a single discordant scent. This means Knockby has already digested, or rather ’assimilated,’ the Energy of the pointed fruit."
This is extremely unusual.
Even for Little Red herself, if she wants to fully assimilate Alien Energy and mask the aura it emits, she still needs some time.
Knockby doesn’t have Little Red’s sense of smell, yet he made the Alien Energy vanish so quickly; this definitely isn’t concealment, but true assimilation.
To achieve this, in Little Red’s view there is one and only one possibility: Knockby also possesses the bloodline of the Druna Plane, and a rather high-tier bloodline at that; only then could he rapidly assimilate Energy of a lower tier than his own.
So that’s why Little Red agreed with Luigi’s speculation.
Luigi believes Knockby carries the "Bimon" bloodline, while Little Red has sensed that Knockby has Druna bloodline, suspected to be a divine bloodline. Cross the two, and doesn’t it indirectly indicate that Knockby’s bloodline is the bloodline of a Druna Outer God?
Perhaps this bloodline doesn’t necessarily come from Bimon the Deity, but the odds that it’s from an Outer God are overwhelmingly high.
And indeed, Little Red’s words really pulled Angel back to reality.
Earlier, Angel had felt that Luigi’s speculation was too ungrounded, lacking any hard evidence; but now Little Red had provided a piece of evidence. Even though this evidence doesn’t directly Pointing to Bimon the Deity, it’s not far off.
Moreover, if one insists on saying Knockby is connected to Bimon, Angel would now raise both hands in support.
"Looks like my guess is most likely right. Then we’ve really struck it rich this time..." Luigi rubbed his hands together in excitement, his gaze toward Knockby filled with anticipation.
Fortunately Knockby was currently veiled by Illusion Mist; otherwise, Luigi’s enthusiasm alone would probably scare him into bolting around in panic.
Unlike Luigi’s excitement, Laplace remained utterly calm, even a bit disdainful of Luigi’s exhilaration. She couldn’t help but pour cold water: "If the Invention Mice really do have Bimon the Deity’s bloodline, then their line must have bred through many generations already. Pifeifei is absolutely not the first generation, at most just the first generation discovered by Pirush."
"So many generations have passed, and not a single Invention Mouse has ever manifested the glory of its ancestors. What makes you think you can do it?"
Laplace’s words were a bit of a buzzkill, but they did make Luigi sober up a little.
On the other side, Angel also agreed with Laplace: possessing a Deity bloodline and actually awakening that Deity bloodline are two different things.
Take the many Beast Species of the Wild Realm for example; more or less, they all carry a Wild God bloodline in their bodies.
Yet even so, not every Beast Species can return to their ancestry and attain resplendent Divine Power. Besides, even if the bloodline is activated and they obtain Divine Power, it doesn’t mean they can truly display the Wild Gods’ glory.
Even humans, if you really trace them back to the source, may well carry some special bloodline within. But the mediocre still stretch like an endless sea, the wave-riders are only a scattered few, and among the billions, there is hardly one who overturns heaven and tramples the sea.
So Angel also felt Luigi was getting happy too early...
However, while Luigi agreed with Laplace, he had his own idea—and that idea was even derived from something Angel had said earlier.
Angel froze for a moment, pointing at his own nose: "My words?"
Luigi nodded. "Didn’t you say before... fate is a very strange thing. From our vantage point we might not see anything clearly. But if you switch perspectives, maybe Knockby’s appearance was precisely to bring us together with Bimon?"
"You think that it was Knockby who tugged on the Power of Destiny, letting us encounter Bimon by a twist of fate."
Angel nodded. He had indeed said this. He had always felt that meeting Knockby and Bimon had been very coincidental; he had even planned to take them to see Dororo afterward, to let Dororo check whether his fate had been tampered with.
Luigi said, "Since Knockby’s meeting with Bimon may have been nudged along by fate, isn’t there another possibility—that Knockby and Bimon meeting us is also dictated by fate?"
"And that I, or you, are the hand of destiny that digs out the glorious bloodline within them?"
"Otherwise, is fate really just borrowing our hands to let them meet each other? That feels way too flimsy."
Luigi used Angel’s earlier musings to spin out his own line of reasoning.
Angel could understand it, but he couldn’t quite accept it.
When he’d said fate felt too coincidental, he hadn’t loaded it with any emotion; it was purely a cautious self-defense—after all, he’d once been laid out perfectly according to the Book of Kael’s arrangements.
Luigi was different. He pinned the coincidences of fate onto himself. In his own world, he believed he was the protagonist; and in other people’s destinies, he could still play a critical role.
He treated "fate" as a turn of phrase, and the subject of that phrase was himself.
This was, in essence, excessive narcissism.
It was the first time Angel had seen Luigi show such narcissism outside of his performances.
Maybe it was also because Luigi didn’t take "fate" very seriously, or thought of "fate" as more of a joke. Still, after thinking it over, Angel could understand. Fate was too nebulous; not everyone had gone through the Book of Kael’s scripted choreography.
Without tasting the affairs of the world, how could one know the world’s bitterness.
That said, even though Angel didn’t really agree with Luigi’s convoluted rhetoric, he still didn’t bother to correct Luigi.
Because he himself couldn’t be sure whether a hidden hand of fate truly existed behind Knockby.
He couldn’t see through fate. The only option was to leave it to time.
Time would prove whether fate had meddled—and whether Luigi’s words had any merit.
...
Seeing that Angel no longer refuted him, Luigi assumed he’d successfully convinced him.
Using Angel’s own words to make Angel bow, this made Luigi very pleased with himself. Yet he also noticed that Angel’s emotional state was nowhere near as excited as his own.
Knockby and Bimon had clearly been bought by the two of them together, and yet he was the only one excited. This left him feeling somewhat disgruntled.
Was Angel being too pessimistic?
Angel didn’t know what Luigi was thinking, but if he did, he’d probably just chuckle, shake his head, and let it go.
He was naturally not pessimistic; he was more than happy to see Knockby and Bimon grow.
Still, no matter how special they were, in the end they only carried an Outer Gods bloodline... and one that had been diluted over who knows how many generations.
In Angel’s collection, however, there were shells bearing the direct bloodline of Demon Gods, and even corpses of Demon God Avatars.
In terms of the concentration of divine blood, Angel’s side clearly held the upper hand.
Moreover, the Demon Gods of the Abyss were top-tier existences among Deities of the same rank. The Outer Gods of the Druna Plane, if they truly faced an Abyssal Demon God of the same level, would end up swallowing their defeat.
Angel didn’t know exactly how powerful the Deity "Bimon" was, but since it had inexplicably "fallen," and its descendants were still so unpromising, that suggested Bimon’s main body wasn’t necessarily that formidable. It really might not be able to surpass the Lord of the Flameless.
All things considered, what Angel possessed far outstripped Knockby and Bimon. So why would he be shocked over a bit of Deity bloodline?
Compared to Knockby’s hazy future, what Angel actually cared about more was Little Red’s abilities.
Previously, although Little Red had displayed its Special Ability before them, it hadn’t seemed particularly exaggerated.
This time, however, the scent Little Red picked up from Knockby almost traced Knockby’s entire past and present... Just from a single "sleeping remnant bloodline," it completely parsed out all the secrets even Knockby itself didn’t know.
With such powerful analytical logic and information extraction capabilities, it was no wonder the Everything House trusted Little Red with the crucial task of parsing the Empty-hearted People.
Having experienced Little Red’s immense power up close, Angel’s stubborn thoughts began to shift, if only slightly.
He had once considered letting Little Red parse the Star Servant, but later, for various reasons, he’d talked himself out of it.
Now, that thought resurfaced.
He planned to cultivate the Star Servant into the Gatekeeper of the Heart Space—a fairly critical role, holding dominion over access to and from the Heart Space.
To be safe, perhaps he really should have Little Red take a look at the Star Servant.
After all, the Star Servant came from the Hante World.
In the past, Angel might not have paid the Hante World that much attention; but since arriving in the Mirror Domain, he had learned a great deal about the Hante World from all sides.
He realized that the Hante World he knew was probably only the surface. There were deeper Undercurrents surging on the dark side of the Hante World.
If the Star Servant was also entangled in those undercurrents, Angel might have to rearrange his position.
And if he wanted to extract information from an Empty-hearted Person, only Little Red could help.
