Chapter 645: Chapter 556: Shameless Accusations (Part 2)
Xiao Man sneered. ’Too bad. This time, whether it was Gongsun or Liu Fengying and her daughter, they’ve all made a huge miscalculation. They’re doomed to be disappointed!’
"Some people are so shameless, they can spout utter nonsense without feeling the slightest bit guilty. I’m truly impressed! But Wu Qin, since you’ve been harmed this badly, why haven’t you gone to the police to file a report? If I’m really the one who did this to you, then call the police and have them arrest me!"
When Wu Qin saw Xiao Man approaching, surrounded by a group of young women, her eyes blazed with fury. She strained with all her might to lift a finger and point at Xiao Man, but it only trembled uselessly. Her hands dangled limply in front of her as she shrieked through her tears, "Tang Manman, it was you! You did this to me! Are you satisfied now?"
Guan Ailan still remembered the investigation meeting at the village headquarters a few years ago. When the two families were swapping the children, Wu Qin had thrown herself into Tang Qingyun’s arms, a sobbing mess. She’d won his complete pity, and he had utterly ignored Xiao Man. The girls had despised Wu Qin for it back then. Seeing her pull the same stunt now, Guan Ailan was disgusted and couldn’t stop herself from lashing out:
"Grow up! Who do you think you’re putting this crying act on for? You’re not even speaking clearly, it’s nauseating. Nobody here is interested in watching your little show, let me tell you!"
Mo Shuixia chimed in, "Who do you claim hurt you? Is your word alone supposed to be enough? Show us some proof! Go straight to the police station or the court and sue them! How dare you come to someone else’s home, screaming and wailing. Are you a half-wit, or are you just malicious? This is obviously a setup to frame someone! If it were me, I would’ve chased you out with a stick by now!"
When Liu Fengying saw her daughter cowering like a frightened little chick from the verbal abuse, her heart ached. She lunged forward, wrapped her arms around Wu Qin, and shrieked at the girls, "Who the hell do you think you are? My daughter is in a different league! You aren’t worth one of her little fingers, so what right do you have to curse my Xuanxuan? Get the hell out of here, all of you!"
Guan Ailan glared, while Mo Shuiling scoffed. "Your precious daughter, your Xuanxuan, is a pile of stinking dog shit. Who’d even want to be compared to her?"
The crowd erupted in laughter. Liu Fengying, trembling with fury, pointed a shaking finger at Xiao Man. "You ungrateful, black-hearted monster! I held you in my arms and carried you on my back when you were just a baby. I fed you, spoonful by spoonful, until you were grown. And this is how you repay us? How dare you be so unfilial and disrespectful to your parents! You’ll face divine retribution one day! And when the heavens send a lightning bolt to strike you dead, don’t you dare come hiding next to me!"
Grandma stepped forward and spat in her direction. "If a bolt of lightning is coming, it’ll strike you first, Liu Fengying! You’re the most venomous woman in the world—vicious and wicked beyond compare!"
Yu Wumei had seen her younger son run out earlier and knew Grandpa had sent him to call for the Party Secretary. Figuring Grandpa had a plan, she had held back from dragging Liu Fengying away. But hearing Liu Fengying curse Xiao Man like this made her furious. She grabbed Liu Fengying’s hair with both hands and began to drag her forcefully toward the gate. "You dare lie in our yard and curse our child? The sheer audacity! Get the hell out onto the road!"
Liu Fengying fell backward and was dragged for a few steps, with Wu Qin still lying on top of her. The mother-daughter pair struggled desperately, squealing like pigs being led to the slaughter.
Xinghua was about to go help her mother, but Grandpa waved his hand to stop her. "Leave them for now. She’s an animal who doesn’t listen to reason. She came to our home to slander our family, but we won’t sink to her level. The Party Secretary is on his way. We’ll get to the bottom of this before we kick her out. This will also let everyone else hear the truth. Besides, we’re not the ones who will be embarrassed."
Her face pale, Wu Qin suddenly forced herself to crawl toward Grandpa. She wrapped her limp arms around his leg, her own face streaked with tears as she wailed, "Grandpa, I’m the one who shares your blood! If you’re going to dote on someone, it should be me, not Tang Manman! She has no relationship with you whatsoever—she’s a complete stranger! After the Tang family took Tang Manman in, they cast me aside like a little beggar and called me a wretched spawn. Grandpa, just think about it! I am your granddaughter! If they call me a wretched spawn, then what does that make you?"
"Cut the nonsense. Did you really think I’d believe your string of lies?" Grandpa yanked his leg free and glared angrily at Wu Qin. "I watched Xiao Man grow up from the time she was a child. How could she be a stranger to me? Blood ties are important, yes, but character is just as important! You weren’t even raised by Liu Fengying, yet you’ve managed to learn all of her underhanded schemes. Isn’t that just shameful? As for why the Tang family cast you out? You know the answer to that better than anyone!"
Wu Qin collapsed to the ground, her sobs growing even more pitiful. "Grandpa, I’m your very own granddaughter! How can you treat me like this?"
Liu Fengying also crawled over to embrace her daughter, tilting her head back to howl at the sky. She called out for Mo Guoqiang, then began shouting to her deceased parents-in-law, "If your spirits are watching from the heavens, then look! Look at how the brother you worked so hard to raise is treating your own descendant!"
