Chapter 1317: Chapter 144: The Hidden Divine Road
Looking at Yun Sheng’s desolate expression, Bo Bo also felt a pang of sorrow. Her mistress seemed cold and aloof on the surface, but in truth she was cold outside and warm within; once she recognized someone, that person would be her friend for life.
I have to think of a way to comfort Mistress.
"Dear Mistress, don’t be sad. Bo Bo guarantees that silly boy definitely won’t die, because... Bo Bo can feel that somewhere in the Human World, there is still an Ancient-era Path of Gods left behind. As long as we settle the matters on the Bahuang Continent and then find that abandoned Path of Gods, that silly boy can be saved." Bo Bo hesitated for a moment, but still couldn’t help speaking up.
"Bo Bo, is that true? You can sense the existence of the Path of Gods?" Yun Sheng suddenly lifted her head.
People of the Divine World had a minimum lifespan of five hundred years. Once they became Demigods, they could live up to a thousand years; if they became Main Gods, their lifespans were limitless. That way, Gu Feng could be saved.
"Dear Mistress, when has Bo Bo ever lied to you? Actually, Bo Bo also said that with this advancement, Bo Bo gained a new Divine Skill. That Divine Skill is called Treasure Eye. Using Treasure Eye, Bo Bo can, within the range of the Human World, locate Divine Artifact Level items, and even Divine-level Relics like the Path of Gods." Bo Bo’s eyes shone brightly.
Bo Bo actually wasn’t all that willing to talk about this special Treasure Eye skill, because its function was a bit chicken-rib–like.
Think about it: the Human World is ultimately not the Divine World. Things like Divine Roads and Divine Artifacts are even rarer than rare treasures; the chance of discovering them is on the order of one in hundreds of millions.
Besides, Bo Bo had just advanced, and her new Divine Skill was still unfamiliar.
She had considered this point, and planned to wait until she had fully mastered Treasure Eye, confirmed the location of the Path of Gods, and then tell Yun Sheng, to give her a surprise.
Now that she had blown it early, Bo Bo felt a bit discouraged. She really did have a big mouth and couldn’t keep secrets—but she just couldn’t stand seeing her own mistress looking so dejected.
Bo Bo’s words instantly turned Yun Sheng’s sorrow into joy.
Bo Bo’s growth over these days was obvious to all, and with the help of the Faith Statue now, her cultivation was definitely growing by leaps and bounds.
Since there was still a Path of Gods in the Human World, Yun Sheng believed that within a few years Bo Bo would definitely be able to find the exact location of the Divine Road. By then, Gu Feng would be saved.
"Bo Bo, then I’ll be waiting for your good news. For now, let’s return to the Bahuang Continent, find the Divine-level Witch Artifact, and expose Hu Linglong’s true face." Yun Sheng let out a breath of relief.
Bo Bo nodded and began to chant.
In the blink of an eye, the two of them were back in Fengyou City. After Bo Bo transformed into human form, her sense of direction was indeed much better.
Only, as soon as they returned to their original spot, Yun Sheng and Bo Bo were both stunned.
The Divine Realm Treasure Ship was gone, and Boss Peng Yu and Little Yingying and the others were also nowhere to be seen.
Yet in just half a day, the spot where the Treasure Ship had been docked now had several corpses lying around. The surroundings were a complete mess; clearly, a fierce battle had just taken place here.
"Mistress, something’s not right. Could something have happened to Little Yingying and the others?" Bo Bo’s expression was anxious.
Yun Sheng’s beautiful eyes swept over the scene. Fortunately, none of the corpses belonged to their own side, and she relaxed slightly.
Obviously, the situation earlier must have been extremely dangerous, so Boss Peng Yu and the others had piloted the Divine Realm Treasure Ship to temporarily flee.
But after clearly seeing the condition of those corpses, Yun Sheng’s brows furrowed tightly again.
All these bodies were unfamiliar faces—not those Divine Soldiers and Generals from the Heavenly Fox Temple, and by the looks of them, they weren’t from any branch of the Eight Desolate Beast Clan either. They seemed more like members of other Beast Clans on the continent.
Among these people were Tiger-men and some Half Wolves, all of them without exception ferocious Beast Clan warriors.
Why had these people attacked the Divine Realm Treasure Ship?
"Jie jie." A ghastly, eerie laugh suddenly sounded out like that of a ghost.
Immediately after, dozens of shadows—some beasts, some Half-Beasts—emerged from all directions, crawling out from various corners.
These Beast Clan warriors were not of the Eight Desolate Beast Clan, but of several other Beastman tribes that roamed near Youdu and had powerful strength.
Other Beast Clans had actually dared to intrude into the Sky Fox Tribe Country without permission... In the past, this would have been an act of sheer audacity. On the Bahuang Continent, the Eight Desolate Beast Clan was indisputably the noblest of the Beast Clans, like nobles among the Human Clan. For hundreds and thousands of years, the other Beast Clans had always treated the Eight Desolate Beast Clan with the utmost respect.
However, due to the gradual decline of the Sky Fox Tribe Country, governance of the surrounding areas—especially some of the poorer Capitals—had grown increasingly lax. As a result, some relatively powerful Beast Clan tribes even dared to enter the Capitals within the Sky Fox Tribe Country.
Right now, this mixed army of Beastmen and Half-Beasts in front of them was precisely one such tribe.
Ten feet away from Yun Sheng and Bo Bo stood a Werewolf with a hulking frame. His skin was a silvery gray, and along his back and spine grew a row of gray hair like steel spikes.
The nails on his hands and feet were like iron claws. His pair of gray eyes were sinister and cold, exuding an indescribable savagery.
"Hell Demon Wolf Clan?" Yun Sheng had an excellent memory and never forgot what she saw.
Back in Cangdu, she had once obtained from He Lai some information on the Beast Clans of the Bahuang Continent, and she remembered having seen this tribe.
They were the strongest branch of the Wolf Clan Beastmen in terms of strength, adept at prowling at night, and were assassins on the Bahuang Continent whose very name made people tremble.
It was said that the claws of a Hell Demon Wolf were comparable to Holy Artifact–level weapons. Even the Hei Qilin Tribe and the Bimong Giants, who were renowned for their astonishing defense, found them a headache to deal with.
Yet since Yun Sheng had come to the Bahuang Continent, she had never had any dealings with the Hell Demon Wolf Clan. Why were they trying to ambush them?
However, Yun Sheng’s doubts were soon answered.
"Aban...doned... God." The most burly of the Hell Demon Wolves lowered his head and growled a few words to the Hell Demon Wolves beside him.
The Hell Demon Wolves were a very solitary branch among the Beast Clans. They disdained interacting with the Human Clan, so their language skills were poor, and they only communicated in the Wolf Clan tongue.
But after Yun Sheng obtained the Sky Fox Inheritance of Beast Language, she had become fluent in all kinds of Beast Clan languages of the Bahuang Continent. From the Demon Wolves’ conversation, she roughly made out the gist.
The leading Demon Wolf was called Man Luo, and he was the Clan Leader of the current Hell Demon Wolf Tribe.
They had somehow received secret information that an Abandoned God from the Divine World had appeared in the suburbs of Youdu.
When they arrived in the outskirts, they had a fierce battle with Boss Peng Yu from the Divine Realm Treasure Ship. In the end, Boss Peng Yu and the others were no match and could only rely on the Treasure Ship’s speed to escape.
Just as the Hell Demon Wolves were seething with anger, they keenly caught the scent of the Divine World nearby, and so they circled back.
Man Luo simply didn’t know which of the two women before him was the actual Abandoned God.
"Hu...man... can understand our words?" Man Luo quickly realized that Yun Sheng could actually understand what they were saying.
~In the previous Chapter, I mistakenly typed Qi as Lu. Thank you all for pointing it out. Scatterbrained Da Fuzi bows in apology~
