Chapter 1650: Chapter 963: Finale (Part 2)_3
Suddenly!
The eyes turned red.
Bidding farewell to the villagers, several people walked towards the dormitory, with Zhou Zhongqing still blaming them for not notifying him before coming over.
"Mutang said he missed you, and since there was nothing much happening during National Day, we decided to come see you." Tang Wan smiled.
"It’s too far, and the conditions here aren’t great. There’s no need to trouble yourselves with a round trip. In just over a month, I should be heading back." Zhou Zhongqing was stubborn, though the feeling in his heart was different.
After arranging a place for them to stay, Jiang Xiaowai had already run out.
Tang Wan was initially worried that he hadn’t been to such a place before and might not adapt. After all, at home, there’s a phone, a tablet, and various toys. Here, he might make a fuss.
But on the first day he arrived, the boy quickly got familiar with a group of kids in the village.
He found everything new and exciting, following them into the mountains to roam around wildly, adapting very well.
...
Originally, they planned to stay for three days, and for the first two days, nothing went wrong. Life in the mountains was far from the hustle and bustle, calm and peaceful. Probably because they knew Zhou Zhongqing’s little grandson was visiting, many villagers specially brought over some delicious food, so Jiang Xiaowai wasn’t deprived in terms of food.
Although Tang Wan and Jiang Jinsang are not professional medical personnel, both have some medical background, one having learned while taking care of the elder Tang, the other being self-taught from long-term illness, and they could lend a helping hand.
On the day they were about to leave, Zhou Zhongqing was planning to finish the consultations and have a nice meal with them.
Just then, a man rushed in hurriedly, speaking in dialect, so hurried that Zhou Zhongqing could not immediately understand.
"He said someone has fainted!" a villager translated.
Zhou Zhongqing quickly picked up his things and went to check.
Jiang Xiaowai was playing house on the side with a group of children, and seeing Zhou Zhongqing and the group rushing, the curious kids ran along.
The man, it was said, suddenly collapsed while working in the farm, with a few people around him at a loss of what to do.
Seeing Zhou Zhongqing coming, they quickly made way.
At a distance, Jiang Xiaowai watched him check the eyes of the person on the ground, then open his mouth for an examination, and instruct others to loosen his clothing.
Then, he saw Zhou Zhongqing take a pen-like object and directly inserted it into the man’s abdomen.
A few children initially wanted to move closer to see better, but they stopped in their tracks when they observed this.
Under his series of actions, in just a few minutes, it seemed as though the person, who was lying motionless, had his soul suddenly pulled back, and his body moved slightly.
"Find something sturdy to put him on, quickly carry him to my place, I’ll help him handle it. Then prepare a vehicle immediately to take him to the nearest hospital; he needs surgery."
A group of people busied themselves, and villagers, seeing the children around, quickly sent them home.
When Jiang Xiaowai returned to the dormitory, Zhou Zhongqing was doing emergency treatment for the man; outside, villagers had prepared a vehicle, and so he went along with them to the city hospital.
Jiang Jinsang and his group of three were originally scheduled to leave the next day in the morning, and the timing couldn’t be changed.
So by the time they left, they hadn’t seen Zhou Zhongqing. But they heard that the villager who had fainted was treated in time, so he was out of danger, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
"Grandfather is saving someone, so we won’t be able to see him, we have to head back first." Tang Wan looked at Jiang Xiaowai.
The little guy nodded seriously...
It’s just that the image of Zhou Zhongqing treating the patient lingered in his mind, deeply rooting itself.
"Mom, when I grow up, can I be like Grandpa?"
"Of course." Tang Wan patted his head, "But to be a doctor, you need to study especially hard and be particularly diligent."
**
The journey back wasn’t easy either; the winding mountain roads jolted Tang Wan to the point of almost vomiting, and then they rushed to catch a flight back to Beijing, and by the time they arrived home, it was already midnight.
Tang Wan was so unwell that she didn’t even have the energy to take a shower. She fell asleep as soon as she leaned on the sofa upon entering.
Jiang Jinsang held their already sleeping son, settled him in, and then prepared to carry Tang Wan to bed.
"Fifth Brother..."
"Feeling better? If you still feel unwell, better to go to the hospital for a checkup tomorrow."
"No need, I’m just not used to traveling by long-distance bus for such a long time, a good night’s sleep will cure it."
"If you feel uncomfortable anywhere, be sure to tell me. I’ll run a hot bath for you, soak for a while before you sleep."
At Guantang Villa, in their bedroom, there was a big bathtub.
This was something someone had selfishly set up, and before having kids, there weren’t many opportunities to use it, but after having a child, it directly became a swimming pool for the little guy.
Jiang Xiaowai often splashed water and played in it.
Tang Wan rested for a day, waking up at over nine in the morning the next day. Jiang Jinsang had gone to work, and Jiang Xiaowai was sent to the old house, she had a few missed calls on her phone, either from Ruan Mengxi or Shen Shuci, aware she was back and wanted to invite her out.
As she browsed through the missed calls, she unexpectedly...
Saw one from Xie Duo.
They had each other’s contacts from years ago, but had never been in touch over the years.
Even though she missed the call, Xie Duo had sent a text message:
[Have something to ask your help with, please reply when you see this.]
Afraid that Tang Wan wouldn’t recognize his number, he specially noted it was Xie Duo.
Ruan Mengxi and the others were fine, but Xie Duo suddenly reaching out to her for help indeed grabbed Tang Wan’s attention, and she called back.
"Mr. Xie."
"Am I disturbing you?"
"Not at all, what can I help you with?"
"I want to buy a few things from your studio, I’m clueless about these, wanted to consult you."
Tang Wan recollected Shen Zhixian mentioning that he was meeting the girlfriend’s parents, "Is it for Miss Yuan’s mother?"
Xie Duo didn’t deny it, "Yes."
"Where are you now?"
"I’m at home."
Tang Wan glanced at the time, "Then head over to my studio now, I’ll set off there too."
Estimating they’d reach the studio by ten in the morning, enough time to pick things out.
Meeting the parents was a big deal for Xie Duo, clearly, he took it seriously, and being during the National Day holiday, everyone in the studio was off, Chen Zhi had returned to Pingjiang for the festival, leaving only a few security guards on duty; hence Tang Wan had to personally go over.
Xie Duo felt somewhat apologetic for bothering Tang Wan during the holiday, and knowing that Jiang Xiaowai liked eating custard mooncakes, he specially brought two boxes over.
Yet what he hadn’t anticipated was that what was supposed to be a simple shopping visit ended up giving him a fright that broke out in a cold sweat.
