Wizard: Building a Golem Legion From Zero

Chapter 544 - 528: y

Chapter 544: Chapter 528: y

Before Allen even stepped into the Special-Level Isolation Zone, Sargeras’s voice had already pierced through the triple lockdown doors.

"Wizard! You despicable thieves!

"You think this busted cage can trap me? When I return to Purgatory, I’ll hang your soul in a Demon Fire Cage and burn it for ten thousand years!"

Biological Laboratory Seven, Special-Level Isolation Zone.

The walls, floor, and ceiling here were cast entirely from solid Magic Metal, their surfaces densely inscribed with Suppression Runes.

On a ten-meter-diameter circular platform in the center of the room, a head-sized cluster of dark flames was pinned tightly in midair by dozens of spectral green chains.

Each chain was specially forged to target souls. "Silence," "Suppression," "Stripping," "Solidification"... together, they formed the ultimate soul prison.

The entity sealed within was none other than the soul of Sargeras, the Ninth-Layer Lord of Purgatory.

"You worm hiding behind an iron shell! Bastard! I curse your soul to be eternally exiled in the void! Your bloodline will—"

Allen walked slowly into the isolation zone, the heavy doors closing silently behind him.

The moment he stepped inside, Sargeras’s cursing came to an abrupt halt.

He sensed Allen’s arrival. The soul violently shrank into a ball, and the mind-tearing, tyrannical aura from earlier vanished without a trace.

"Why did you stop?" Allen’s tone was teasing.

"Look who’s here. If it isn’t the mighty Morning Star Wizard, Allen Wesren."

Sargeras’s tone immediately did a complete one-eighty, dripping with flattery.

"Perhaps there has been a tiny misunderstanding between us. But look, you have already proven your power, and I, too, have witnessed your wisdom. Great beings like us who stand at the pinnacle of the world shouldn’t be mortal enemies.

"Let’s make a deal.

"You desire power? I can give it to you. You desire wealth? I can give it to you. You desire status? I can give that to you as well.

"Release me back to Purgatory. In return, I swear upon my true name to offer you my loyalty. Just give me a chance, and the dominion over the ninth layer of Purgatory shall be yours.

"The Demon Legion under my command, which once conquered worlds, will answer your call. The boundless wealth I have accumulated, the countless believers I have enslaved—all will become your property! You will become a Wizard King ruling over a realm of Purgatory!"

The astronomical wealth he promised was enough to make a Wizard Organization rise overnight, becoming a colossal power spanning several Planes. To any Alchemy Wizard, this was an immense temptation.

Sargeras stared fixedly at Allen, waiting for him to show even the slightest hint of greed.

However, Allen merely tilted his head slightly, not even batting an eyelid.

This pie-in-the-sky promise was too grandiose and hollow—impossible to swallow. A demon’s mouth never held the truth, and who knew how many traps were buried within such vows. He didn’t even respond to Sargeras, instead speaking to the empty air:

"Jarvis, activate the Soul Probe.

"Set power to six percent, and begin scanning from the shallow memory layers."

[Calibrating... Soul Probe, activated.]

HUM—

Above the platform, a Light Needle thinner than a hair, condensed from pure Spiritual Power, materialized out of thin air and slowly pierced toward Sargeras’s soul.

"No—!"

Sargeras’s soul erupted into a shrill, agonizing scream.

It was the ultimate agony of being dissected alive. The Soul Probe scraped against the essence of his soul, peeling back his memories, knowledge, and even emotions, revealing them layer by layer.

Allen ignored the repeated screams, his gaze falling onto the glowing screen that unfolded before him.

Countless chaotic images and data streams flashed by, rapidly categorized, organized, and modeled by Jarvis.

[Extracting keywords: Demon advancement...]

[Analyzing Law Model: Blood Pool Rebirth...]

[Reverse-engineering Rune structure: Cross-Plane Summoning...]

[Establishing database: Soul Contract, Sacrificial Ceremony, True Name Shackles...]

Although the data was somewhat fragmented, these subjects alone were enough to fill the annual research plans of several laboratories on Cybertron.

Allen lightly dragged his fingertips across the glowing screen, watching with keen interest as these technologies were painstakingly dismantled before him.

Rule over Purgatory? Command Demons?

How ridiculous.

What right did a pack of chaotic, disorderly beasts, who only knew how to fight on instinct, have to be integrated into his precise and highly efficient warfare system?

To stoop down and manage that pile of mud himself would be an absolute insult to his computational power.

While Jarvis frantically parsed the data, a faint, eerie blue light rippled in Allen’s eyes. Soul Vision quietly activated.

His gaze pierced through the facade of the dark flame, reaching straight into Sargeras’s Soul origin.

There, he saw three halos, radiant as stars yet exuding entirely distinct auras. They were [Evil Energy], [Decay], and [Flame].

This was the core mystery of Dawn Star Level lifeforms—the "proven" Law Marks. Like three thick roots, they were firmly embedded in the deepest recesses of Sargeras’s soul, serving as the ultimate secret behind his power.

This was the true, priceless treasure of a Dawn Star Soul.

Allen’s breath hitched slightly, an intense desire to explore flashing through his eyes.

He tried to touch the [Decay] halo with his Spiritual Power. However, the Law Mark was like a mirage in the water—completely untouchable.

"I can see it, but I can’t interfere," Allen calculated rapidly in his mind.

His current Soul Law was still stuck at the first stage of "touching." It was like a user with system guest access: he could see the existence of the underlying code, but without "administrator privileges," he was completely unable to copy, cut, or modify it.

"What a pity. My current technological level isn’t enough to pick this lock yet."

With a touch of regret, Allen withdrew his gaze. "I can only keep it as a living specimen for now and conquer it later."

"Ahhhh!!"

Under the continuous, subtle stimulation, some of Sargeras’s deep memories began to surface uncontrollably.

The image on the glowing screen abruptly shifted.

A vast, boundless expanse of crimson earth appeared before Allen’s eyes.

Viscous Blood Pools surged like oceans as countless newly born Low-tier Demons crawled out from them, releasing chaotic roars. The sky was an eternal dark red, devoid of both sun and moon.

But what made Allen’s gaze lock in focus was the cracked surface of the earth.

The massive rifts in the ground were bottomless. On the rock walls on both sides, exposed metal veins as massive as mountain ranges gleamed with an eerie light!

And at the edge of his vision, a towering peak made entirely of pitch-black metal stood silently on the wasteland. Its surface was pitted and potholed, completely ignored by everyone.

Allen’s movements paused.

"...Purgatory Demon Iron." He uttered the words almost subconsciously. "An entire mountain of raw ore veins?"

These Demons... were they begging for scraps while sitting on a gold mine?!

Under the dual torment of searing soul agony and the forceful Stripping of his memories, Sargeras’s will finally began to collapse.

"Stop... please stop..." he begged intermittently.

Allen raised a hand, and the Soul Probe paused its work.

In Sargeras’s memories, these ubiquitous open-air ores were actually just "rocks" that the Demons hurled at each other during fights.

Through repeated, agonizing memory extractions, Allen finally forced Sargeras to divulge more intelligence regarding Purgatory.

This Plane possessed an extremely rich abundance of supernatural resources. However, Demons were chaotic by nature and revered violence; they had absolutely zero "industrial systems." Everything remained in the most primitive stages of plundering and annexation.

In Purgatory, there was always only one true hard currency—souls.

Demons would trade precious ores, powerful weapons, or even territories just to exchange for a fingernail-sized Soul Fragment. This was because a Demon’s advancement, Blood Pool Rebirth, Cross-Plane Summoning, and even the reinforcement of the Power of Laws all required the exact same thing to be paid as a price.

"Those minerals... metals..." Sargeras’s voice was weak and delirious. "What use are... those things... other than forging some crude weapons...?

"Only souls... yes, only souls are the only hard currency!

"Advancement... requires souls... Resurrection... requires souls... For everything, you must pay ’taxes’ to Purgatory..."

Sargeras’s weak mental fluctuations transmitted intermittently, full of humiliation. "This is a shackle carved deep into every Demon Soul... It cannot be defied..."

Allen’s eyes flickered slightly.

This intelligence about Purgatory verified his hypothesis.

Purgatory itself was a massive, automatically operating soul-harvesting system.

Absurdly rich resources, a chaotic society, laughably primitive productivity, and a quantifiable "taxation" Law centered entirely around souls...

He looked at the unmined mountain range of evil iron on the glowing screen, and at the Demons slaughtering each other for fingernail-sized Soul Crystals. A thought began to grow madly in his mind.

These beasts really were begging for scraps while sitting on a mountain of gold!
