Yan City was a coastal city with fresh air and beautiful scenery. A sanatorium had been established on its shores, specifically for retired senior officials to rest and recuperate.
The very night Su Qing arrived at the Yan City sanatorium with Mr. Li and Mrs. Li, she secretly slipped into the sea and headed in the direction of Japan.
The shortest straight-line distance by sea from Yan City to Japan was about 1,000 kilometers. Submerged in the water, Su Qing squinted and thought it over. ‘Even at my top swimming speed, this will still take several days. I should probably find a ride.’
‘Hmm, what would make a good mount?’
Even though it was nighttime, Su Qing’s vision was unaffected in the sea. She swam along leisurely, scooping up some seafood here and there while scanning her surroundings for a target.
“There!”
Seeing a lone orca swimming nearby, Su Qing’s eyes crinkled into a smile.
The orca had clearly spotted her too, and it swam toward her with a flick of its tail. Once it was close, it began to circle her curiously. ‘This two-legged creature has a wonderful scent.’ The orca’s eyes filled with curiosity. ‘I’ve seen two-leggers before, but why didn’t they smell this good?’
Smiling, Su Qing flicked two drops of Green Liquid into the orca’s mouth. She knew her Green Liquid and green mist were fatally attractive to animals.
Sure enough, after swallowing the two drops of Green Liquid, the orca’s eyes lit up, and it let out an excited cry. It even nudged Su Qing’s body gently with its snout. It clearly wanted more Green Liquid; the first two drops had slid down its throat before it even had a chance to savor them.
Su Qing chuckled and gave the orca two more drops of Green Liquid.
The orca grew even more excited, circling Su Qing endlessly. Su Qing knew that orcas were highly intelligent, with an IQ comparable to a thirteen or fourteen-year-old human. She led it to the surface and explained what she needed with a combination of words and gestures.
The orca clearly understood. It nodded at Su Qing repeatedly and swished its tail, motioning for her to climb onto its back.
Su Qing was delighted. She vaulted onto the orca’s back and said, “Alright, let’s go.”
“AWOOO—”
The orca let out an excited cry and started swimming toward Japan with Su Qing. Worried about being spotted by patrol boats at night, Su Qing signaled for the orca to dive underwater.
While not as fast as a sailfish—the fastest creature in the ocean—the orca could still travel at forty to fifty kilometers per hour, which was much faster than Su Qing could swim on her own.
In the middle of the following night, Su Qing arrived just off the coast of Japan. After climbing off the orca’s back, she gave it a few more drops of Green Liquid, hugged its massive head in thanks, and said, “Alright, this is my stop. You can head back now. Maybe we’ll meet again someday.”
The orca seemed reluctant to leave her, circling her and refusing to go. After Su Qing spent some time comforting it, the orca finally gave a reluctant flick of its tail and watched her swim toward the Japanese coastline.
Su Qing came ashore at a remote cluster of reefs. In the distance, she could make out what looked like a fishing village, but it was the dead of night and everyone was asleep. No one noticed her stealthy approach from the sea.
Because the orca had carried her underwater, the patrol boats in the waters around Japan never detected her presence. After all, who would ever imagine that someone could ride an orca from the depths of the ocean to make landfall?
Finding a hidden corner, Su Qing changed her clothes, applied a disguise to her face, then picked a direction and sped off.
Su Qing knew some Japanese from watching anime in its original audio before the apocalypse in her past life. That, combined with her current memory and comprehension abilities as a Superpower User, allowed her to pick up basic Japanese just from those shows. At the very least, she had no problem with simple conversations.
By dawn, Su Qing was walking through a small town called Sanyi Town.
Sanyi Town was not a large place; it was a small coastal town and a popular tourist destination. Many people came to Sanyi Town to vacation and relax. However, Sanyi Town was not close to Ban City, her ultimate destination. Without local Japanese identification, taking any official mode of transport to Ban City was out of the question. Su Qing had no plans to get a fake ID in Japan, either. Her main reason for being here was to deal with the Qiutian Clan.
The Qiutian Clan was an incredibly powerful family in Japan. Her actions were guaranteed to cause a major stir, and the clan would undoubtedly investigate the matter to the very end. If they traced the investigation back to whoever made her a fake ID, it could lead to unnecessary trouble.
In short, Su Qing would not allow Hua Country to be implicated in this business with the Qiutian Clan in any way.
Su Qing wasn’t in a hurry to get to Ban City. Instead, she began to wander around Sanyi Town. She had Japanese currency on her, prepared in advance by Li Fenghuo, so she sampled some local delicacies and bought a few exquisitely crafted souvenirs. She looked just like any other young girl visiting Sanyi Town.
“Here all by yourself, sweetie?” the owner of the small restaurant asked with a warm smile, placing Su Qing’s meal in front of her.
“I am,” Su Qing replied with a matching smile. “My classmates are always talking about how beautiful Sanyi Town is, so I decided to visit during my school break.”
“You’ve got good taste, sweetie,” the owner chuckled. “We may be a small town, but the scenery is fantastic. The coast is beautiful, and we have lots of delicious food. You won’t find our local specialties anywhere else, at least not the real deal. And my family’s recipe? It’s been passed down for generations.”
“Mm, it smells amazing. I’m sure it’s delicious. The aroma is what drew me in,” Su Qing said with a smile.
“Hah! You’re a girl who knows good food when she smells it.” Hearing Su Qing’s praise, the smile lines around the owner’s eyes deepened. “On the house, I’ll give you a thirty percent discount today.”
“Oh, really? That’s wonderful! Thank you so much, ma’am,” Su Qing said, looking pleasantly surprised. She then continued, “I noticed it’s not just the seaside that’s beautiful here; those mountains over there look lovely, too. I was thinking of heading over there for a look in a couple of days. Do you have any recommendations?”
“Oh, dear.” Hearing this, the owner quickly leaned in and lowered her voice. “Sweetie, I’d advise against going to the mountains for the next few days.”
“Oh? Why not?” Su Qing asked, surprised.
