Chapter 644: Chapter 642: Slap
Just moments ago, Angela had watched as Yarn and Alton emerged from Beijing University, accompanied by a few female students. The group was chatting and laughing, a sight that stung Angela’s eyes.
’So, Yarn has been in Beijing for several months. Has he fallen for the female students here? Is that why he’s been treating me with more and more indifference?’
The more she thought about it, the worse Angela’s expression became.
"Find out who these female students are. And find out how they know Yarn. I want every single detail," Angela said to her bodyguard, gritting her teeth fiercely.
"Yes."
"Home." The image of Yarn laughing with those girls was too galling. Angela felt that if she followed them any longer, she wouldn’t be able to suppress the fire in her heart. She simply had her bodyguard drive her home. Once she arrived, Angela smashed several decorative objects, but it did little to quell the rage in her chest.
Song Yufang was also seething with anger.
The incident where Yarn and Alton invited Su Qing and her friends out had happened on the way to the cafeteria, so of course, people saw it. Inevitably, the news spread. By the time Song Yufang found out, the group had already left Beijing University.
Song Yufang’s resentment toward Su Qing deepened. Before she could even go find Zhao Xiaohui to secretly stir up trouble, Zhao Xiaohui came looking for her.
"It’s too much, just absolutely too much." Zhao Xiaohui paced back and forth in Song Yufang’s dorm room. "That Su Qing is a total seductress, hitting on foreigners in front of the whole school. She’s a disgrace to all of us from Hua Country."
"Don’t say that." Song Yufang suppressed her own anger and said to Zhao Xiaohui in a gentle voice, "They’re probably just making friends. Everyone has the right to make friends, after all. Besides, with her background, it’s only natural that she’d be able to befriend people like Yarn and Alton."
"What do you mean?" Zhao Xiaohui retorted. "Does her background give her the right to be so arrogant? She’s just showing off. Yu Fang, you’re just too kind. I feel so bad for you."
Before Song Yufang could say anything, the curtain of the bed opposite hers was thrown open with a SWISH. A girl climbed down, snorted coldly, glared at Zhao Xiaohui, muttered "Idiot," and then left with her bag.
"Hey, what’s her problem?" Zhao Xiaohui was indignant. Watching the girl leave, she complained pitifully to Song Yufang, "Your roommate is insane. I didn’t even talk to her, so why did she curse at me?"
"Just ignore her. She’s a bit of a recluse," Song Yufang quickly soothed her.
When Song Yufang had moved out of Su Qing’s dorm, no other room wanted to take her in. So, the school had arranged a separate, smaller dorm for her. The person who moved in with her was her current roommate, who had also moved out of her previous dorm because her reclusive nature made it impossible to get along with her suitemates.
However, in the past year, Song Yufang hadn’t interacted much with this roommate. When they first moved in together, they had argued frequently. Since there were no other dorms to switch to, they developed a mutual dislike for each other and eventually just ignored one another completely.
"Yu Fang, it must be so hard for you to live here," Zhao Xiaohui said, her heart aching for her friend. If her own dorm hadn’t been full, she would have asked Song Yufang to move in with them.
Song Yufang smiled. "It’s nothing. It doesn’t really affect me since we barely interact. Don’t worry about it."
And so, the conversation turned back to Su Qing. Zhao Xiaohui fumed with indignation while Song Yufang, on the surface, tried to calm her down. In reality, she was subtly fanning the flames, making Zhao Xiaohui despise Su Qing even more. It got to the point that when Zhao Xiaohui saw Su Qing on Monday morning, she couldn’t help but snort coldly at her and mutter under her breath, "Hussy."
However, although Zhao Xiaohui’s voice was low, the classroom was quiet, and several people nearby heard her. They gave her strange looks, and a few even frowned. Su Qing hadn’t done anything to provoke Zhao Xiaohui, yet Zhao Xiaohui had cursed her for no reason. It was behavior that others couldn’t stand to see.
"Zhao Xiaohui, what did you just say?" Li Huan shot to her feet and demanded, glaring angrily at Zhao Xiaohui.
Zhao Xiaohui had only meant to curse quietly, but she hadn’t expected her voice to be loud enough for others to hear. Now, being called out publicly by Li Huan, she felt her pride was on the line. She lifted her chin and said, "What’s it to you? I wasn’t cursing at you."
"You—" Just as Li Huan was about to say more, Su Qing grabbed her arm. Su Qing stood up, walked directly over to Zhao Xiaohui, and without another word, slapped her across the face.
SLAP! The crisp sound echoed through the classroom for everyone to hear.
"She deserved it!" Li Huan and the others felt incredibly satisfied seeing Su Qing take action.
Zhao Xiaohui covered her face in shock, staring at Su Qing in disbelief. Over the past year, she had antagonized Su Qing quite a bit, but Su Qing had never once laid a hand on her. Who would have thought that today, just because she’d accidentally spoken a little too loudly, Su Qing would slap her in front of the entire class.
"Su Qing, I’ll kill you!" Zhao Xiaohui’s face burned with humiliation. In her entire life, she had never been slapped in public. She felt like that one slap had destroyed her dignity and reputation. Instantly, she raised her hand to strike back.
Su Qing caught Zhao Xiaohui’s swinging arm and, with her other hand, slapped her across the face again. Su Qing had been wanting to deliver these two slaps for a long time; she just hadn’t gotten around to it. Since Zhao Xiaohui had walked right into it today, she naturally seized the opportunity to teach her a small lesson.
The incident before summer break, when Master Wen had come looking for trouble, was a perfect example. It was Zhao Xiaohui who had been secretly feeding him information and stirring things up. Su Qing had wanted to deal with her ever since.
"You... you’re a bully!" Slapped again, Zhao Xiaohui burst into angry tears. She had never been so humiliated in her entire life. But Su Qing’s grip was terrifyingly strong; no matter how hard she struggled, she couldn’t break free. She felt like her arm was about to be snapped in two.
"Let’s talk this out, let’s talk this out." Even Huo Tao disapproved of Zhao Xiaohui’s behavior. He had remained silent when Su Qing delivered the first slap, but after the second, he finally spoke up. "We’re all classmates. It’s better to talk things through."
"Fine. I’ll listen to the class president." Su Qing released her grip and gave a gentle push, causing Zhao Xiaohui to stumble back into her chair. Su Qing smiled cheerfully at her, but her eyes were cold. "Zhao Xiaohui, you’ve provoked me countless times before, and I never laid a hand on you. So let me tell you this: from today onward, if you target me again for no reason, I’ll go straight to using my hands. I’d like to see just how thick your skin is, and how many of my slaps it can take."
