Apocalypse Rebirth: Crazy from Day One

Chapter 414 - 424: Meat It’s All Meat

Chapter 414: Chapter 424: Meat, It’s All Meat

Stella Sterling then wandered around in this space for a while longer. After confirming there was nothing else out of the ordinary, she decided to rest.

’I’d really like to go for a walk and explore the mountains and rivers that manifested over there.’

But she quickly gave up on the idea.

’There’s no rush. In the future, there will be plenty of opportunities to slowly appreciate this world under her control.’

’I’ve been excited long enough. It’s time to rest.’

Stella Sterling glanced at the wild boar meat she had placed on the ground, then exited the space, flopped onto her bed, and prepared to sleep.

After such a long period of stimulation, Stella Sterling couldn’t fall asleep right away.

’How long had it been since she had been this happy? It was just one surprise after another today.’

She didn’t drift off until her mind finally went quiet after a long while. She then slept straight through until late in the evening.

Even when Felix Lawrence’s men came to call her for dinner several times, Stella Sterling didn’t respond.

This made Felix Lawrence anxious. He wanted to check on Stella Sterling to see if something was wrong.

However, he was stopped by Andrew Shaw.

"Miss Sterling hasn’t eaten or drunk anything all day. Can her body take it?" Felix Lawrence asked, a little puzzled.

Andrew Shaw laughed heartily. "Don’t worry, she’s fine. We probably kept her up too late, so she’s just exhausted and sleeping soundly!"

He knew that woman had a magical item that allowed her to retrieve things at any time.

She wouldn’t go hungry. There was absolutely no need to worry about her.

The fact she hadn’t come out probably meant she’d eaten in secret. It wouldn’t be good if Felix Lawrence and the others went in and found out.

Felix Lawrence gave him a puzzled look.

But Andrew Shaw continued, "Hey, don’t worry. We still have plenty of our own food left. We won’t go hungry."

Felix Lawrence thought about it and figured that made sense. ’Besides, this young man is Miss Sterling’s subordinate and is always by her side. He must know her better than I do. If he says she’s fine, then she must be fine.’

So, no one disturbed Stella Sterling. She finally woke up on her own in the evening.

She joined the others for dinner, which was a watery noodle soup.

Yet, everyone ate it with relish.

Seeing that there was nothing unusual about Stella Sterling’s complexion, Felix Lawrence finally relaxed.

After they finished eating, he saw her change into new clothes, put on that familiar mask, and head outside.

He called out to her anxiously, "Miss Sterling, are you going out again tonight?"

Stella Sterling nodded. "Yeah, something came up."

’I’m not about to keep such a huge, fresh wild boar all to myself.’

’After all, I’ve been staying in Felix Lawrence’s territory and enjoying his hospitality. I plan to return the favor.’

’So I need a plausible excuse to bring out the wild boar meat. If I don’t go out, how will I ever convince them?’

Hearing this, Felix Lawrence said worriedly, "The people from Sanctyr Base are looking for you right now. It could be dangerous for you to go out."

He thought for a moment, worried that she might think he was trying to restrict her freedom, and quickly added, "Why don’t I go with you? That way, if something happens, we can have each other’s backs."

"That’s not necessary. Don’t worry, I won’t be found."

But Stella shook her head, rejecting Felix Lawrence’s kind offer.

’If Felix Lawrence tagged along, how would I get the boar out?’

Seeing that Felix Lawrence was still worried but also hesitant to stop her, Stella Sterling thought for a moment and said, "I’ll take Andrew Shaw with me. He’s young, but his skills aren’t bad, and he’s easy to overlook. Plus, we know each other well and have a good rapport."

Hearing the first part of her statement, Felix Lawrence was initially unconvinced. ’His skills are good, sure, but how could he be better than me?’

But after hearing the last part, he hesitated.

’When it comes to rapport, I really can’t compete with the kid. He’s Miss Sterling’s subordinate, after all. They must have fought together before.’

’From that perspective, he really is a better choice than me.’

Andrew Shaw, who was standing to the side, shot Stella Sterling a strange look. ’What rapport? When did we ever have that?’

But he was smart enough to say nothing and didn’t expose her.

’This woman’s behavior is a little odd,’ he thought.

’It’s almost like she’s leaving this time specifically to avoid Felix Lawrence!’

’I don’t know why, but she must have her reasons.’

After exchanging a few more words with Felix Lawrence, Stella Sterling left with Andrew Shaw.

Though Felix Lawrence was worried, he knew he had no right to stop Miss Sterling from doing her own thing.

’I can only reassure myself and trust in Miss Sterling’s abilities.’

"Where are we going?"

Stella Sterling drove away from the area with Andrew Shaw, coming to a desolate, deserted place. Andrew Shaw asked doubtfully.

Stella Sterling stopped the car, adjusted her seat, and then closed her eyes. "We’re not going anywhere. We’ll just rest here for a bit, then head back."

Hearing this, Andrew Shaw became even more confused. He had no idea what she was up to. ’Did we really leave just to find a different place to sleep?’ he wondered.

His mind was filled with questions, but he pushed them all down.

He’d find out what she was up to soon enough.

She wasn’t talking, and asking wouldn’t get him anywhere.

After about two hours had passed, Stella Sterling opened her eyes.

Then she started the car and began driving back toward Felix Lawrence’s camp.

"We’re going back already? Aren’t we going to do anything else?"

Andrew Shaw’s jaw dropped in surprise at her actions. He was completely baffled. ’Did we really just come out here for a nap, and now we’re heading straight back?’

Stella Sterling didn’t answer his question. As they were getting close to Felix Lawrence’s camp, she had Andrew Shaw move to the front passenger seat, completely clearing out the back of the car.

Then, Andrew Shaw saw a wild boar appear out of thin air inside the car.

He had long known Stella Sterling could pull things out of thin air, so that part didn’t surprise him.

But looking at the wild boar in front of him, his eyes still lit up. "Meat! It’s all meat!"

Then he looked over at Stella Sterling. He finally understood what she was doing!

In that moment, his eyes gleamed.
