Cultivating in the Wizard World

Chapter 702 - 597: Contact

Chapter 702: Chapter 597: Contact

Three days ago, within the territory of the Wizard Civilization in the Parallel World.

Since three days ago, the entire upper echelon of the Wizard Civilization has appeared extremely uneasy.

Because, a massive space rift has appeared on the periphery of the Core Plane.

The entire space rift is large enough to nearly swallow the Core Plane completely, yet the interior of the rift is not connected; rather, it seems deliberately sealed.

The rift appeared without warning, and no Wizard could detect its source.

The Core Plane is extremely important to the entire Wizard Civilization, so after a brief investigation, the Wizards decided to destroy or open it.

But the problem is, they’ve tried every method—Elemental Shock, Information Pollution, Space Seal, Causal Severing...

Yet, regardless of the methods used, neither the space rift nor the seal on the rift moved even slightly.

"Can’t open it." An Eighth Level Wizard retreated with a grim expression from the rift, "The power and technology of this space rift are completely beyond comprehension, far surpassing our level."

Upon confirming that none of their methods could break through this seemingly simple space rift, the High Tier Wizards urgently called for a meeting.

The entire Wizard Civilization, whether closed in research experiments or guarding the territory outside, all High Tier Wizards above Sixth Level were forcibly recalled!

Core Plane, within the "ruins" of the Central Continent, numerous High Tier Wizards gathered endlessly.

This Central Continent appeared exceptionally ravaged, the whole continent even as scorched earth.

The reason for this is because, in the remote past, a race war occurred here.

It was also through this war that the Wizard Civilization established humanity’s position as the ruler in this Plane, using it as a springboard to extend further.

For this reason, the Wizards deliberately preserved the entire ecological environment of the Central Continent, even after tens of millions of years, the entire continent still contains energy radiation enough to kill ordinary creatures instantly.

And in the most central area of the Central Continent, a dilapidated Divine Hall left behind from the war is purposely preserved by the High Tier Wizards of the Wizard Civilization for meetings.

The entire Divine Hall is purposely maintained in ruin, without repair.

Beside the long table pieced together from broken metal in the center of the Divine Hall, sat Eighth Level Wizards with withered faces.

Someone was missing two eyes on the head but had a body full of eyes, someone had one-half of the body replaced by machinery, and someone had the entire skull encased in a transparent container, in which a constantly wriggling brain was immersed.

"The enemy’s purpose is unknown, but it’s confirmed their technology level far exceeds ours; we must activate the Final Combat Module." A Wizard covered in Runes spoke, voice raspy like sandpaper rubbing.

"That would consume at least a third of our slaves." Another argued.

"There are Planes outside to capture slaves from..."

"But if we don’t activate it, it’s death!"

The argument continued for a long time, but eventually, consensus was reached.

For three days, they put everything into piecing together battleships from fragmented Plane debris, filling shriveled corpses and wailing Souls into engines, and armoring every Wizard capable of fighting to the teeth.

At the moment the Final Combat Module was activated, innumerable Wizards’ bodies began mutating—that was the price of forcibly elevating power.

Some grew extra arms, some faces split with new eyes, some bodies twisted into irregular shapes.

Their faces grew more withered, the madness in their eyes more intense, yet their Spiritual Power and physical strength were indeed enhanced.

Then, at the same moment they were ready, the space rift outside the Main Plane moved.

The rift, which they couldn’t budge in three days, was slowly opening now.

All Wizards present frowned at this scene, unwilling to believe it was merely a coincidence.

Meaning, the enemy across has been monitoring them all along, unbeknownst to them!

More importantly, the enemy let them prepare completely!

This implied the enemy’s strength was far beyond theirs...

Soon, the thoughts of the High Tier Wizards present were verified.

As the rift expanded, they finally glimpsed the situation on the other side.

On the other side, four colossal beings they had never seen before were manifesting.

One Sixth Level Wizard responsible for reconnaissance took merely one glance before trembling and falling from mid-air.

"Eighth Level..." His voice trembled, sharp with terror, slightly distorted: "Many Eighth Levels!!!"

The moment the news spread, the entire battlefield fell into deathly silence.

Those withered Wizards raised their heads, looking at the four fearsome war machines across the rift, at those ornate colleagues, at the figures in the sky whose aura was too deep to perceive.

Someone began retreating.

Someone dropped the Magic Staff held in hand.

Others activated escape Arrays directly or transformed into streaming light, fleeing far away.

This simply cannot be fought!

A Seventh Level Wizard stood at the edge of the battleship, gazing at the Eighth Level Wizard figures of the opposite side, suddenly laughed.

Within that laughter was bitterness, despair, and a hint of relief.

"So it is..." He murmured, "Is this the apocalypse of our Wizard Civilization..."

His voice was swallowed by the Energy surging in the void.

Across the rift, the four war machines had completed final preparations.
