Cultivating in the Wizard World

Chapter 714 - 606: The Battle for Supremacy

Chapter 714: Chapter 606: The Battle for Supremacy

The blurred outline hovered before the crack, its presence so intense it made the entire void tremble.

The creatures of the Alliance of Ten Thousand Realms were still screaming maniacally, the Wizards of the Parallel Worlds were still shivering in despair, but when the voice rang out, everything quieted down.

"I didn’t expect you to come this far." The voice of the Alliance Leader was deep, tinged with a bit of fatigue, like a giant awakened from sleep, "It seems I still underestimated you."

He slightly tilted his head, the blurred gaze sweeping over the Wizards of the four major forces, then he nodded, as if making a judgment.

"I recognize your power." His voice was raised slightly, carrying a kind of generous benevolence, "As compensation, I allow you to join the alliance."

The void was quiet for a moment.

The high-ups of the Alliance of Ten Thousand Realms were first stunned, then erupted.

"Leader!" An Eighth Level Giant Beast covered in golden scales suddenly lifted its head, its voice urgent, "These Wizards killed so many of our people, how can we..."

"Indeed, Leader!" Another Energy Aggregation flickered wildly, emotions agitated, "These creatures claiming to be Wizards are too greedy, surely not good news!"

"Leader, please reconsider!"

Those commanders from less harmed tribes echoed, the alertness and hostility in their eyes almost spilling out.

They had managed to secure a place in the alliance with great difficulty; if these Wizards were to join in, given their combat power, it wouldn’t be long before they climbed over their heads.

But those commanders who were severely damaged had a completely different attitude.

An Orc commander, full of injuries, struggled to stand, his voice hoarse, "The Leader is wise! These Wizards have strong combat power, it’s good for them to join us!"

"Yes! We’re in desperate need of such fighting power!"

"Welcome! Warmly welcome!"

They smile as if weeping, but the urge to survive was clear in their eyes.

As long as they could live, as long as they could preserve what remained of their homeland, they’d give up their position willingly.

The most intense reaction came from the Wizards who defected.

Vald stood at the rear of the crowd, his expression turning from fear to pale, from pale to livid.

If the four major forces were really assimilated, these defectors would be traitors who joined the enemy and would be the first to be purged.

"Leader!" He rushed forward, trembling in his voice, "You can’t assimilate them! They won’t submit to anyone! They’ve tried to annihilate our civilization..."

The Leader didn’t reply, just glanced at him.

Vald felt as if an invisible hand had gripped his throat, unable to make any sound.

The Wizards of the Parallel Worlds saw their expressions changing too.

Earlier, when the Ninth Level pressure descended, they had thought themselves doomed.

Those veterans who had been through apocalyptic wars even began recalling their brief and painful lives.

But now, the Leader said "I allow you to join the alliance"...

What did this mean?

Did it mean they wouldn’t die?

Did it mean their civilization had a way to survive?

Some had hope gleaming in their eyes, some quietly clenched their fists, while others instinctively looked towards the direction of the four major forces, wanting to see how those strong counterparts would respond.

Then they saw, the Wizards of the four major forces showed no reaction.

Not entirely no reaction, but those Eighth Level Wizards hovered in the void, their expressions placid, as if listening to a joke unrelated to them.

Their expressions were somewhat odd, yet seemed targeted at the surrounding Wizards.

As for the leader of the Alliance of Ten Thousand Realms, they appeared indifferent.

The Wizards of the Parallel Worlds were stunned.

That was a Ninth Level.

A Ninth Level creature declared it would incorporate you, and this is your reaction?

The leader of the Alliance of Ten Thousand Realms seemed to perceive the strange atmosphere too.

His gaze swept over the expressionless Eighth Level Wizards, his voice sank, "Why, no response?"

No one answered him.

Because just as he asked the question, the Eighth Level Wizards looked at each other and then... suddenly started fighting, with one another.

Ten thousand Eighth Level Wizards instantly divided into four camps in the void, Star Ring Federation against Deep Red Royal Court, Void Architecture Institute against Anti-Entropy Alliance.

Then rapidly fragmented and reassembled, turning into a melee.

The fluctuations of Law and Energy spread like a tsunami in all directions, the entire void trembled under their battle.

Space was torn apart and healed, and torn again; time accelerated and slowed down in local areas, slowed down and accelerated again; causal lines were severed and reconnected, reconnected and severed again.

The leader of the Alliance of Ten Thousand Realms squinted slightly, watching the scene before him, slightly surprised.

The combat power of these Eighth Level Wizards from the Parallel Worlds was beyond what he anticipated.

Their utilization of Law, their grasp of power, their understanding of the world’s essence... everything combined made their displayed combat power seem downright absurd.

If he could assimilate such a force...

His gaze grew more fervent.

He was certain his earlier decision was correct.

The commanders of the Alliance of Ten Thousand Realms were also startled by this sudden internal conflict.

But they quickly reacted, mocking smiles emerging on their faces.

"Hahahaha!" An Orc commander laughed so hard he leaned back and forth, "Look, they haven’t joined yet but start fighting for positions!"

"All to show off in front of the Leader, right?" Another Energy Aggregation let out a piercing laugh, "Truly the conducts of lowly beings."

"Do these guys think showing off power can make them the Leader?"

The Wizards of the Parallel Worlds watched this internal strife, the hope on their faces gradually turning to disappointment.

So these powerful Wizards were just like the people of the Alliance of Ten Thousand Realms, willing to attack companions without hesitation for power and position.

A Sixth Level Wizard who had just signed the contract lowered his head, unable to bear watching any longer: "It’s over... the Wizard Civilization is over..."

His Twin—a Sixth Level Wizard from the Star Ring Federation—looked at him with a peculiar expression upon hearing this.

"Why... why are you looking at me like that?" the Wizard from the Parallel World asked, a little unnerved.

"Nothing." The Twin averted his gaze, the corner of his mouth twitching slightly, as if holding back laughter.

"Aren’t you... aren’t you fighting for command after joining the Alliance?" The Wizard from the Parallel World sensed something amiss from his Twin’s attitude.

The Twin finally couldn’t hold back and snorted with laughter: "Joining the alliance? Who said that?"

He pointed to the group of fighting Eighth Level Wizards: "They’re fighting over the spoils of war."

"Spoils of war?" The Wizard from the Parallel World was stunned.

"Yeah." The Twin gestured towards the rift, "That’s a Ninth Level Creature, alive. Whoever grabs it, owns it."

The Wizard from the Parallel World opened his mouth wide, rendered speechless.

"...Ah?"

The brawl ended quickly.

From the start to the outcome, it took only a few breaths.

An Eighth Level Wizard from the Deep Red Royal Court first broke away from the melee, his entire body shrouded in a dense blood-red mist, his aura as fierce as if he’d just crawled out from mountains of bodies and seas of blood.

Pure, heartfelt excitement was written across his face.

"This material is ours!"

He laughed heartily, flying towards the Leader of the Alliance of Ten Thousand Realms.

Behind him, the Eighth Level Wizards from the Star Ring Federation, the Void Architecture Institute, and the Anti-Entropy Alliance followed closely, their expressions growing increasingly grim.

Some cursed under their breath, some ground their teeth, and others kept glancing back angrily at their comrades left behind.

"Meathead, you’re shameless! We obviously found it first!"

"Bullshit! It’s whoever grabs it!"

"You construction folks said you weren’t interested in these creatures earlier!"

"That was just now! We’re interested now!"

The Eighth Level Wizards hurled insults at one another, but their flying speed only increased.

Meanwhile, those Wizards from the Parallel World who had been struggling in despair earlier were now utterly dumbfounded.

They watched the Eighth Level Wizards, so thrilled as if they had been injected with adrenaline, surge towards the Ninth Level silhouette, their minds blank.

The Leader of the Alliance of Ten Thousand Realms had a drastically altered expression by now.

Standing in front of the rift, he watched the group of Eighth Level Wizards flying towards him, saw the predatory greed in their eyes, and immediately understood their intent.

He’d lived countless millennia, seen countless civilizations, and fought countless wars, always viewing others as prey.

And now, a group of Eighth Level Creatures looked at him with the gaze of hunters.

"Courting death."

Feeling offended, his voice turned icy.

He raised his hand, pressing lightly towards the incoming Eighth Level Wizards.

[World Modification].

In an instant, the laws of the entire void twisted.

The zone he selected was being erased from the plane of existence.

The creatures of the Alliance of Ten Thousand Realms erupted in deafening cheers.

They knew that beings erased by a Ninth Level Creature wouldn’t even leave a Soul behind.

And then, the cheers faltered.

The erased area indeed emptied, yet those Eighth Level Wizards... were still there.

Hovering in the void, their speed undiminished, they continued arguing while flying forward.

The Leader’s "World Modification" seemed to have no effect on them.

The Eighth Level Wizard from the Deep Red Royal Court who led the charge even glanced up at the Leader, a hint of disappointment in his eyes.

Just this?

"Tsk! Just a low-grade Ninth Level." His voice wasn’t loud, but it clearly reached everyone’s ears, as if assessing the quality of a piece of meat, "Dispatching three can completely suppress it."

The pursuing Wizards immediately voiced their displeased protests.

"If you think it’s no good, why not let us have it!"

"It’s my turn already!"

"You got the lion’s share last war, it’s our turn this time!"

The Eighth Level Wizard completely ignored the protests.

He raised his hand and pointed behind him: "You three, come with me. The rest..."

He paused, glanced back at the still rapidly approaching Eighth Level Wizards from other forces, and a mischievous smile crept onto his lips: "Hold them off."

The three Eighth Level Wizards he named unhesitatingly broke away and accelerated towards the Leader.

The remaining Deep Red Royal Court Wizards uniformly turned, facing the pale-faced Eighth Level Wizards of other forces, flashing bright smiles.

"Sorry, gentlemen."

"Bastard!"

"Damn beasts!!!"

In the void, the brawl erupted once more.
