Chapter 357: Chapter 327: Combination Attack
Doubts aside, the Rock Giant’s poor condition was an absolutely wonderful thing for their team.
They saw hope—the hope of defeating their opponent.
At this thought, the team members attacked with renewed vigor. Dakoli, holding nothing back, summoned his second Pet Beast: the Earth- and Wood-attribute Moon Platform Turtle.
The Moon Platform Turtle wasn’t fast, but its defense was extremely strong. Coupled with its decent control abilities, it was quite a rare Pet Beast.
The only shame was that the Moon Platform Turtle hadn’t reached Commander Level. It was stuck at the Elite Peak; otherwise, it would have played a much more important role.
Seeing this, Li Qian didn’t hesitate either.
The Summoning Array flared to life once more, and he summoned Frostfire Salamander Xiaoliu.
Exchanging a glance with Dakoli, Li Qian suggested, "Dakoli, let’s hit it with something big."
"How do we do that?" Dakoli asked.
On the surface, he appeared calm, but inside, his mind was reeling.
He’d never imagined Li Qian’s strength would be so terrifying.
To think he had two Pet Beasts at the Commander Level.
And by the looks of it, they weren’t new to the Commander Level either.
Amidst his shock, he immediately realized an opportunity had presented itself.
With a teammate as powerful as Li Qian, it seemed they truly had a chance to punch above their weight and achieve victory against a stronger foe.
So he responded at once.
"Ranged attacks. Use your most powerful Skills!" Li Qian said, laying out his plan.
As he spoke, he was already issuing his command to Xiaoliu through their Soul Contract.
Upon receiving the command, a dark red light began to flash from the upright barbs on Xiaoliu’s dorsal fin.
This was the telltale sign of a Frostfire Salamander about to unleash a Skill.
A flashing red light indicated a Fire Skill, while a ghostly blue light signified an Ice Skill.
’Dragon Flame Song!’ Li Qian commanded in his mind.
The moment the thought formed, a torrent of high-temperature flame erupted from Frostfire Salamander Xiaoliu’s mouth.
The flame surged forth, rushing forward with the force of an avalanche.
In mid-air, the terrifyingly hot flame coalesced into a fire dragon.
The crimson fire dragon was over a hundred feet long, with a diameter of at least ten.
It was an absolutely terrifying sight.
Nearby, Dakoli’s eyes went wide as he witnessed the scene.
He looked as if he were seeing a monster.
Not daring to delay for a second, he immediately sprang into action.
At his command, the Meteor Monkey launched its own attack.
Its attack looked just as frightening.
The Meteor Monkey thrust out its hands. In its left, a terrifying, bluish-purple ball of lightning condensed, while its right was wreathed in a fearsome gale.
It punched forward with both fists, launching the pale violet ball of lightning and a Wind Disc formed from the gale.
The Wind Disc and the lightning ball intertwined with the terrifying Dragon-shaped Flame, forming an even more ferocious assault that shot straight for the Rock Giant.
GULP...
Watching this, Pilo and the others couldn’t help but swallow hard.
The tomboy, Li Yuhu, had a brilliant gleam in her eyes, her thoughts a mystery.
’Is this really an attack a first-year can dish out?’
’This is Elite Level...’
’No, these two have both reached the Commander Level.’
’Their combat power is seriously off the charts.’
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The terrifying, fused assault from Li Qian’s and Dakoli’s Pet Beasts finally slammed into the Rock Giant.
The Rock Giant was already badly injured and couldn’t possibly dodge.
ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!
Engulfed by such a terrifying attack, it let out a defiant roar.
But the roar was quickly cut short.
Immediately followed by an even more terrifying explosion.
At last, the scene fell quiet.
The battlefield, where the Rock Giant had stood, was utterly unrecognizable.
All that remained was a terrifyingly deep crater.
It looked as if a meteorite had crashed there.
"Did we get it?" Ding Ganmao stared wide-eyed at the crater, muttering to himself.
"An attack that terrifying... it has to be dead," Wang Guanjun mused, also murmuring to himself.
Li Yuhu glanced at her wrist, a smile spreading across her face. "Success! My Energy Detection Watch is no longer picking up that Dominator Level Energy signature!"
"We finally got it." Hearing Li Yuhu, the "Invisible Captain," Dakoli, let out a long sigh of relief.
’The Energy Detection Watch wouldn’t be wrong.’
’If an attack like that couldn’t finish it, he’d truly be out of ideas.’
’All he could do then is rely on Li Qian.’
At this thought, he glanced over instinctively.
When his gaze fell upon Li Qian’s Frostfire Salamander, he couldn’t help but feel a surge of envy.
’He didn’t recognize this Pet Beast at all.’
’But it had to be an extremely rare and Powerful type of Pet Beast.’
"Can I see its stats?" As he spoke, Dakoli pointed to his watch.
Li Qian nodded.
’Dakoli must be wearing a comprehensive detection watch.’
’It can detect ambient Energy Intensity and also look up information on some Pet Beasts.’
’Frostfire Salamanders are rare, but they exist in the Dimension Planes and on the Outer Heaven Battlefield.’
’So I’m sure the Beastmaster Association has it on file.’
’And if it’s on file, it can definitely be found.’
Sure enough, as Dakoli aimed the face of his watch at Xiaoliu, the Frostfire Salamander’s information appeared.
When he saw that the Frostfire Salamander was an Ice and Fire Dual Attribute type with a Racial Potential as high as Tier Nine Dominator, Dakoli instinctively started to say something...
...but considering the situation, he forced himself to swallow the words on the tip of his tongue.
Li Qian ignored Dakoli’s shocked expression. He was still frowning, lost in thought.
He walked toward the crater, step by step. "Don’t celebrate just yet," he said. "I have a feeling something was off with that Rock Giant."
"What do you mean?" Ding Ganmao asked, not quite understanding.
"I felt it too." An Duowan, the quietest of the group, echoed Li Qian’s sentiment and walked over as well.
Reaching the edge of the crater, he offered his explanation. "Even with its attribute disadvantage, and even with so many of us ganging up on it, it shouldn’t have gone down that easily."
"Isn’t it a good thing that we took the enemy down so easily?" Wang Guanjun scratched his head, confused.
"It is, but..." Li Qian nodded, but his voice trailed off.
Pilo picked up on the unspoken meaning in Li Qian and An Duowan’s words. He ventured a guess, "Are you suspecting it was already injured when it showed up?"
"That’s a possibility," An Duowan nodded.
Pilo’s guess was exactly what he had been thinking.
It was also the very thing that was bothering Li Qian.
