Beast Taming: I'm Really Not a Cultivation Master

Chapter 457 - 425: A Terrible Midnight Affair

Chapter 457: Chapter 425: A Terrible Midnight Affair

In any case, he wasn’t in a hurry on this trip to the Dimension Plane, and he had already learned most of what was being taught in his school courses. Thus, Li Qian readily agreed to Teacher Liang’s suggestion and prepared to help her complete the Array Dance.

Bai Bingbing also joined the three-person workgroup.

After leaving the Earth Palace and returning to camp, they made some simple preparations, and the work was about to begin.

Irina found a moment when they were alone and suddenly lowered her voice, asking Li Qian, "What are you thinking?"

"What do you mean, ’what am I thinking’?" Li Qian was a bit baffled by Irina’s sudden question.

"That pair, the teacher and her apprentice... It’s obvious they have ulterior motives for getting you involved," Irina reminded him kindly.

Li Qian glanced at her. "What kind of motives could Teacher Liang and Bai Bingbing possibly have? I’m the one who needs to complete this Array Dance. They’re helping me!"

"That’s what’s so strange. Unconditional help, and it’s not like you’re family or anything. Do you really think that’s possible?" Irina pointed out the inconsistency.

Li Qian was completely unconcerned. "To be honest, this Array Dance is very important to me. Who else can I turn to besides Teacher Liang? Besides, if you say they have ulterior motives, then what are they? They can’t possibly be after my body, right?"

Hearing this, Irina nodded seriously. "Don’t be so sure. That’s actually a strong possibility. Didn’t you see the way that Bai Bingbing was looking at you? Her eyes were practically glued to you."

"Uh..." Li Qian hadn’t expected Irina to be so blunt. He froze for a moment before a realization dawned on him, and he couldn’t help but rub his nose. "Even if that were true, it’s not like I’d be the one getting the short end of the stick!"

When Li Qian said that, it was Irina’s turn to be stunned. She found herself utterly unable to refute his words.

Seeing her reaction, Li Qian chuckled. He walked over and patted Irina’s shoulder. "Relax, I know what you’re worried about. That girl, Bai Bingbing, she’s beautiful, but we’re not a good match. We’ve barely had any interaction, and now this whole thing has happened. If we were to actually start dating, who knows how much trouble it would cause down the line."

"Besides, the Li Family has only had one son for three generations, and most girls from the Snow Race require the husband to marry into their family. So I’m well aware that it’s pretty much impossible between us."

After hearing Li Qian’s explanation, Irina immediately jumped on board. "It’s good that you know. A girl like Bai Bingbing is out of your league. You two aren’t from the same world."

After listening to Irina ramble on for a few more sentences, Li Qian stopped wasting time and went straight to Teacher Liang’s tent.

When he arrived, Bai Bingbing was already inside the tent. ’I don’t know if it’s just my imagination,’ Li Qian thought, ’but the way she’s looking at me seems a little strange.’

When Teacher Liang saw Li Qian arrive, she used the local network on her smart wristband to transfer a portion of the data to both him and Bai Bingbing.

"This is all the data on the Fourth Epoch that I’ve organized so far. A small part has already been compiled into volumes, but most of it is still raw images," Teacher Liang said. "I’ve already sent you the keywords and key images for filtering. The two of you just need to search according to them."

"Package the organized data and send it back to me. If there’s anything you’re unclear on, you can ask me anytime." As she spoke, she waved her hand, and tables and chairs instantly appeared inside the tent.

The tent was instantly transformed from a living space into a small workshop.

Li Qian wasn’t surprised by this sight.

’It’s only normal for Teacher Liang’s Spatial Equipment to be larger than mine.’

After entrusting her other students to Teacher Yang, the trio of Teacher Liang, Bai Bingbing, and Li Qian began their work on completing the Array Dance.

Li Qian and Bai Bingbing directly linked their VR glasses to their smart wristbands and began viewing the data Teacher Liang had sent.

As for Teacher Liang, she was also wearing VR glasses while continuously making gestures in the air at something unseen.

And so, time flew by. Soon, the sky darkened, and the second night arrived.

After a full day of work, Li Qian returned to his tent. He was truly exhausted from browsing through so much information and maintaining a state of intense concentration the entire time.

Before long, he closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep. In his dreams, he vaguely heard the sound of countless dogs barking, "WOOF WOOF WOOF..."

Li Qian rolled over in his sleep, not waking up, until a loud "BOOM!" from an explosion rang out, jolting him awake with a start.

"What happened?" Li Qian threw on some clothes, darted out of his tent, and immediately asked the question when he saw Bai Bingbing and Irina leaping out of their own tents as well.

However, after seeing the confusion in their eyes, Li Qian realized they were probably just as clueless as he was—completely in the dark.

Sure enough, both of them just shook their heads in bewilderment. Soon, all three of them focused their gazes on Teacher Liang’s tent.

Teacher Liang would definitely know what was going on.

Just as the three of them took their first few steps, a figure came rushing over and blocked their path. "You three, please leave this area immediately! There’s been an accident, and it’s not safe here."

Bai Bingbing looked at the young Guard who had rushed over and immediately asked, "What’s going on?"

The young Guard glanced at the three of them before giving a brief explanation. "We don’t know what happened, but a large number of canine Pet Beasts suddenly poured out of the Earth Palace."

Without pausing, the young Guard continued, "These canine Pet Beasts appeared out of thin air and immediately began to frantically attack our comrades stationed inside the Earth Palace."

Upon hearing this, a concerned expression appeared on Bai Bingbing’s face. She pressed, "What about Teacher Yang and Teacher Liang?"

The young Guard pointed toward the Stone Tower. "Teacher Yang, Teacher Liang, and our Captain Hao are all in the corridor, suppressing those canine Pet Beasts."

"How could so many canine Pet Beasts suddenly pour out?" Bai Bingbing asked anxiously, her voice grave. But it was obvious that for now, no one had an answer to her question.

"We should go take a look..." Li Qian frowned, looking toward the Stone Tower as he spoke tentatively.

The young Guard shook his head without hesitation. "No. Captain Hao gave orders. No one is to approach the Stone Tower except for him and the two teachers."

"Not only can you not get closer, you have to retreat to at least a kilometer away."

The young Guard’s solemn words made Li Qian instantly realize the severity of the situation.

He didn’t dare hesitate for a second and immediately turned to retreat. Seeing that Bai Bingbing was still frozen in place, Li Qian urged her, "Let’s go. If we stay here, we’ll only be a burden to Teacher Liang and the others."

Li Qian had a very clear understanding of his own current strength.
