Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence

Chapter 692 - 488: Ice Wind Demon Serpent VS The Surviving Demon Monarch

Chapter 692: Chapter 488: Ice Wind Demon Serpent VS The Surviving Demon Monarch

Both were Catastrophe Level.

But there was a difference between their wills.

Its will was that of a dead thing—fragmented and adrift.

But the will of the Giant Dragon before it, though only a sliver, came from a living, whole, Catastrophe Level Giant Dragon at its absolute peak!

The phantom of the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon merely gave it an indifferent glance.

That one look seemed to cross the vast river of time.

"ROAR!"

Another draconic roar echoed.

This time, the phantom of the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon moved.

Its colossal body transformed into a streak of cyan light, ramming straight toward the thousand-meter-tall Demon phantom!

This wasn’t a clash of energy.

It was a pure, overwhelming assault on the spiritual level!

The Demon phantom frantically channeled its remnant will, attempting to resist.

However, it was all futile.

Before the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon’s will, majestic as divine might, its own chaotic and fragmented will was like a mantis trying to stop a chariot!

At the same time, without the Demon’s will to command it, the dark red energy was in full retreat before the breath of the Ice Wind Demon Serpent.

The grayish-white Ice Wind drove straight in, unopposed!

Swathes of black Flame were frozen and shattered.

The Demon’s thousand-meter-tall energy phantom began to collapse and dissipate at a speed visible to the naked eye!

Attacked by two Catastrophe Level beings on both the spiritual and energy fronts.

It was a war on two fronts, and a rout on both!

"No! No! I refuse to accept this!"

The Demon let out a final, unwilling roar.

Its collapsing energy phantom and its remnant will, which had been utterly crushed by the Giant Dragon, seemed to be drawn by some irresistible force.

"WHOOSH!"

With a soft sound, all the violent energy and chaotic will were sucked back, forcefully compressed into the dark red heart on the mountain’s peak!

The sky cleared.

The suffocating, terrifying pressure vanished completely.

The Ice Wind Demon Serpent stopped its breath attack and circled in the air, awaiting new orders.

The phantom of the Flowing Wind Giant Dragon slowly turned its head in the air, and its draconic eyes, formed from light, seemed to give a slight nod in Raylo’s direction.

Then, its massive body dissolved into motes of cyan light and flowed back into the Dragon Scale.

The light faded, and the Dragon Scale returned to its original form, gently floating back down into Raylo’s palm.

Raylo raised his hand and caught the Dragon Scale.

He looked up at the Ice Wind Demon Serpent in the sky and gave a command.

"Return."

The massive Ice Wind Demon Serpent’s body began to turn from solid to ethereal, finally transforming into a streak of light that flew back into Raylo’s hand, reverting to the shape of the menacing Head of the Demon Serpent.

Raylo tucked both the Head of the Demon Serpent and the Dragon Scale away.

The entire peak of Dragon’s Fang Peak instantly fell silent.

All that remained was the dark red heart, which had shrunk from the size of a house to the size of a human head, floating quietly in mid-air.

The patterns on its surface emanated a soft glow, as if the earth-shattering battle just now had never happened.

It looked docile and harmless.

Raylo walked toward the heart, one step at a time.

This time, it was as quiet as an ordinary stone, showing none of its previous strange activity.

Raylo inspected it for a moment, then stored it in his Spatial Bag.

"My Lord, are we returning to Black Stone Territory now?" Hank asked from the side.

Raylo nodded.

"Gordo, you will take the Giant Legion, ride the Cloud Sea Giant Whale, and bring the Two-legged Flying Dragon King with you back to Black Stone Territory."

"Yes, My Lord!" Gordo thumped his chest and replied in a deep, booming voice.

Raylo then turned to the White Siblings.

"Hank, you and your sister will remain in the Black Stone Mountain Range. There are still some items on the list I gave you that haven’t been found in the western part of the range. I need you to speed up the search."

"Yes, My Lord."

Having given his orders, Raylo walked over to Lightning, who had already reverted to his draconic form, and leaped onto his back.

Moonlight, Coal Ball, and Sun jumped up one after another.

"We’ll go on ahead," Raylo said to the group below.

"ROAR!"

Lightning let out a sonorous roar, and with a powerful flap of his wings, transformed into a streak of blue light and shot into the sky, disappearing into the clouds in an instant.

The Cloud Sea Giant Whale gave a long, drawn-out cry as its massive body slowly ascended, carrying more than a hundred Hill Giants and the unconscious Two-legged Flying Dragon King toward Black Stone Territory.

Lightning’s flying speed was extremely fast.

Soon, the familiar silhouette of Black Stone Territory appeared on the horizon.

Raylo steered Lightning down, landing in the huge plaza in front of the Lord’s Mansion.

In the center of the plaza, the eight-legged Mobile Alchemy Workshop stood silently, like a slumbering iron beast.

A few Knights on guard duty saw Raylo return and immediately stepped forward to salute.

Raylo waved them off and walked straight toward the entrance of the Alchemy Workshop.

The workshop’s great door remained shut.

At the entrance, the two Legendary Mages, Delin and Wendel, were sitting cross-legged.

On the empty ground before them, an incredibly complex Rune Matrix was drawn with Magic Powder. They were clearly trying to deduce something.

Master Barnaby was busy with Carl and a few Apprentices in a large room that had been cleared out to serve as a library.

In just a short time, the library was already beginning to take shape.

Mage Delin and Master Wendel both had their brows furrowed, as if they had encountered a monumental problem.

"Mage Delin, Master Wendel."

Raylo walked up and greeted them.

Hearing his voice, the two Legendary Mages snapped out of their deep thought.

The moment Master Wendel saw Raylo, he huffed and blew on his mustache irritably.

"You kid, you’re finally back!"

"I was starting to think you’d died out there!"

Mage Delin stood up and dusted off his Mage Robe.

"Raylo, how did it go? I heard you went to the Black Stone Mountain Range again. Was it a smooth trip?"

"Smooth enough."

Raylo nodded.

He glanced at the closed door, then at the complex Rune Matrix on the ground.

"It seems you haven’t solved the puzzle of this door yet?"

"Hmph! What do you take this for?" Master Wendel said testily, pointing at the door.

"This is the ultimate masterpiece left behind by that madman, Phillips! The Alchemy puzzle on this door involves dozens of Magic Domains. Its complexity is simply inconceivable!"

"We two old codgers have been studying it for days and have only just scratched the surface, just found a potential direction."

Mage Delin also sighed.

"Phillips’s wisdom in the Alchemy Domain is truly as vast as a sea of stars. We could spend our entire lives and still might not glimpse its entirety."

Raylo looked at the complex expressions on the two Legendary Mages’ faces, a mixture of frustration and excitement, and smiled.

He knew that for true Mages, such a challenge was far more alluring than any Treasure.

"Masters, don’t be so anxious," Raylo said.

"I brought something good back for you this time."

"Oh?"

The moment he heard the words "something good," Master Wendel’s eyes lit up.

Mage Delin also cast a curious glance.

From his Spatial Bag, Raylo took out the dark red, human-head-sized heart.

"This is..."

The moment the heart appeared, the pupils of both Legendary Mages constricted sharply.

They could clearly feel the immense Chaotic Energy contained within the heart.

"The heart of a Catastrophe Level creature?" Mage Delin said gravely.

"And a Demon Monarch from the Abyssal Plane, no less."

"That’s right."

Raylo nodded and handed the heart over.

"My subordinates found it on Dragon’s Fang Peak in the Black Stone Mountain Range. Have a look, Masters, and see if it has any research value."

"It does! Of course, it does!"

In a flash, Master Wendel shot forward and snatched the heart from Raylo’s hand, his eagerness palpable, as if he were afraid Raylo would change his mind.

He cradled the heart in his hands, turning it over and over.

"A perfect energy structure... Chaotic yet self-contained Laws..."

"Heavens! This is practically... a work of art from the Abyss!"

Mage Delin asked, "Raylo, how did you get your hands on this?"

He looked at Raylo with a questioning and scrutinizing gaze.

A Treasure of this level wasn’t something one could just stumble upon, even after the spatial storms.

Moreover, the remains of a Catastrophe Level creature would certainly be guarded by powerful Magical Beasts.

"Just good luck."

"You know I tamed a Little Black Dragon in the Black Stone Mountain Range," Raylo explained casually.

He didn’t explain the process in detail, but instead offered a reminder.

"Be careful, Masters."

"The Demon’s will still lingers inside this heart."

"It’s very weak, but it’s still the will of a Catastrophe Level being. It shouldn’t be underestimated."

"Oh? It’s still ’alive’?"

Master Wendel’s eyes grew even brighter.

The research value of a dead specimen versus a live sample was a world of difference.
