Chapter 729: Chapter 507: Morpheus’s Spatial Rainbow Bridge
Time passed, second by second.
Beads of sweat gradually formed on Morpheus’s forehead.
Clearly, manipulating Space Magic on such a massive scale was no small burden for him.
「A dozen minutes or so passed.」
"It’s done."
The light from the black Magic Staff in Morpheus’s hand slowly receded.
And in the void before them, over a hundred fist-sized points of light, shimmering with different colors, had appeared out of thin air.
Each point of light represented a spatial coordinate he had marked, a location with a residue of special energy.
"The golden points of light represent locations with a strong residual aura of Divinity."
"The red ones represent strong residual Elemental Energy."
"And the grayish-white ones represent a dense aura of death or an Undead Aura."
Morpheus explained.
Everyone’s gaze fell upon the golden points of light.
There were over twenty of them in total, varying in size.
They were scattered across different locations in the void, distant yet distinct.
"It seems the scope of that world-ending war was even broader than we imagined."
Mage Delin said in a low voice, looking at the scattered golden points.
"Let’s split up."
Elemental Tyrant Gregory was already getting impatient.
"We’ll be most efficient if we each take a few coordinates."
His proposal met with everyone’s immediate approval.
They quickly divided up the areas they would each be responsible for.
Raylo glanced at the points of light and chose the one closest to their current position—a golden point that was also the dimmest.
He wanted to start his investigation at the most inconspicuous spot.
"Raylo, be careful."
Mage Delin advised.
"You’re coming with me. Although this world is dead, there’s no telling what strange dangers might linger in places with residual Divinity."
"I understand, Master."
Raylo nodded.
Mage Morpheus extended his hand, his five fingers gently closing into a fist in the void.
There were no earth-shattering fluctuations of Magic Power, no dazzling visual effects.
It was as if his grasp made the entire world emit a nearly imperceptible hum, one that originated from the very plane of Law.
HUMMM...
Ripples in space, almost invisible to the naked eye, spread out from the center of his palm. Like waves from a stone tossed into a calm lake, they expanded, circle by circle, into the Endless Void.
Then, the hundred or so points of light twinkling in the void, each representing a different coordinate, began to move. As if drawn by some unseen force, they slowly shifted and arranged themselves along an arcane trajectory.
Finally, in the void before them, they traced the outlines of over a hundred bridges.
Over a hundred illusory bridges, formed from points of light, spanning countless spatial fragments.
"There."
Mage Morpheus retracted his hand.
"I have used the Space Waymarks to construct temporary ’Rainbow Bridges’ between these marked fragments."
"Using these Rainbow Bridges, we can travel directly to and from any of the marked locations."
The moment his voice fell, the illusory bridges made of light in the sky suddenly flared with brilliance!
Streams of pure Spatial Energy, like rushing torrents, swiftly flowed along the paths traced by the points of light, filling them in.
From within the light, over a hundred real, magnificent bridges spanning the Endless Void slowly coalesced and took form.
They were constructed from a translucent, Crystal-like substance. A seven-colored halo flowed across their surfaces, as if a piece of the sky’s rainbow had been cut out and laid across this dead, dark world.
The sides of the bridges were protected by a thin, shimmering Space Barrier, like the wings of a cicada, completely isolating them from the violent turbulence of the void outside.
"Let’s go."
Mage Delin was the first to step forward. He glanced at Raylo and said in a low voice,
"We’ll check out the nearest golden point of light."
Raylo nodded and followed Mage Delin.
The instant his foot touched the seven-colored Rainbow Bridge, a peculiar sensation spread through his entire body.
The bridge’s surface looked illusory, but it felt incredibly solid underfoot.
He could clearly feel a gentle yet immense Power of Space emanating from the bridge. It enveloped him completely, making him feel as if he were submerged in a warm current, shielded from all the cold and silence of the outside world.
The two walked side by side on the Rainbow Bridge. Below them was the deep, boundless, dark void, and in the distance floated the remnants of continents, smoldering with embers like tombstones.
The scene was magnificent and grand, yet tinged with an immense sorrow.
"Master Morpheus’s Space Magic is truly... incredible."
Raylo couldn’t help but marvel as he looked at the seven-colored Rainbow Bridge, which seemed to stretch on without end.
This method of directly twisting space to build stable passageways was completely beyond his understanding of Magic.
"’Incredible’ doesn’t even begin to cover it."
Mage Delin chuckled and said,
"Morpheus is widely acknowledged as the number one master of Space Magic of our era. He once single-handedly hunted an Abyssal Lord that had escaped into the turbulent currents of space. He crossed seventeen different planes, and finally, on the three-hundredth layer of the Abyss, he took that Abyssal Lord’s head and hung it in his Mage Tower."
Raylo was completely captivated by the story, his respect and awe for the silent, black-robed Mage growing even deeper.
The Rainbow Bridge seemed long, but their speed as they traveled across it was unbelievably fast.
