Chapter 489 - 239: Dream Start Magical Director

Chapter 489: Chapter 239: Dream Start, Magical Director

Yang Qi loaded the Transport Cage onto the vehicle and opened the door to the inner compartment. Great Sage pushed open the inner door on its own, slipped into the spacious but unfamiliar area, and began looking around.

Next were Huan University and Huan the Second.

The two raccoons were in separate, smaller Transport Cages, crying out anxiously.

Yang Qi loaded them onto the vehicle as well and opened the cage doors.

The two raccoons cautiously poked their heads out. When they saw Great Sage, who had arrived first, they carefully crept out and made whimpering sounds at him from afar in greeting.

Great Sage, perched high up, looked down on them and chittered back twice in response.

For the time being, the three herbivores/omnivores coexisted peacefully.

Then came the main event: the little lion, Stone.

Stone was now the size of a medium dog, and his impressive bearing was already starting to show.

Upon seeing Yang Qi, he pounced excitedly, rubbing his big head against him.

Yang Qi played with him for a while before guiding him into a larger Transport Cage and loading him onto the vehicle.

When Stone was released into the compartment, the atmosphere inside instantly shifted. The scent of a predator, however young, filled the space.

Huan University and Huan the Second’s fur stood on end. They let out terrified shrieks, huddled in the farthest corner of the compartment, and trembled so violently they were practically curled into a ball.

Great Sage also tensed up, rising from its perch with its fur bristling slightly. It bared its teeth, let out a warning HISS at Stone, and hopped restlessly on the perch, clearly agitated.

The predator’s natural aura filled them with instinctual fear.

Stone, however, paid them no mind. He was just curiously sizing up the new environment and looking at the "little things," letting out a soft, questioning rumble from his throat.

Yang Qi calmed Stone, having him lie down in a cushioned resting area on the other side of the compartment. Then he used his Spirit Communication Technique to soothe Great Sage and the raccoons.

After a good while, Great Sage finally lay back down, though it still watched Stone warily.

The raccoon brothers also calmed down a bit, but they remained huddled together, not daring to move.

Yang Qi breathed a sigh of relief.

Next were the three leopard cubs.

They were in a large, partitioned Transport Cage and were likewise loaded onto the vehicle and released.

As soon as the three fluffy little creatures were out, they were immediately filled with curiosity about the strange environment. They chased and tumbled over one another, letting out high-pitched, squeaky roars.

Their presence also put Great Sage and the raccoons on edge, but the oppressive feeling they exuded was weaker than Stone’s.

Thanks to Yang Qi’s soothing, they managed to maintain a semblance of peace.

Finally, it was Happy and his two wolf companions.

The three adult Gray Wolves were guided into separate Transport Cages. They were full of anticipation for the move—Happy, in particular, was very excited.

But the moment they were released one by one and stepped into the compartment—

SKREEEEE!

Great Sage completely lost it.

It leaped from its perch with a piercing shriek and began scrambling frantically around the compartment, as if terrified out of its wits.

Wolves!

Three living, breathing, powerfully-built adult wolves.

For a primate, this was a natural enemy etched into its very genes!

Huan University and Huan the Second were so terrified they couldn’t even squeak. They clung to each other for dear life as they trembled in a corner, looking as if they were about to pass out.

Even Stone and the three leopard cubs stopped their playing, warily watching these three "big dogs" that radiated an air of wildness and danger.

After entering the compartment, Happy and his two companions first sniffed the unfamiliar scents with curiosity before their gazes were naturally drawn to Great Sage and the raccoons.

It wasn’t a desire to hunt, just curiosity and confusion.

AWOOO~

Happy even tried to inch closer.

Just as the compartment was about to erupt into chaos...

VMM!

A sharp glint appeared in Yang Qi’s eyes as the aura he had kept suppressed suddenly erupted.

The intangible pressure of the Qi Cultivation Sixth Layer Perfection, like an ethereal mountain, descended precisely upon the agitated Great Sage and the three wolves.

It did not target Stone or the leopard cubs, and especially not the terrified raccoons.

For Great Sage and Happy, whose spiritual intelligence had been awakened and whose perceptions were keen, this aura was far more terrifying than the roar of any wild beast.

It was a pressure that stemmed from a higher order of life, from the very depths of their souls.

SCREE—

Great Sage’s shriek came to an abrupt halt. It froze solid, as if pinned to the perch by an invisible force. It looked at Yang Qi in terror, its body trembling slightly.

WHIMPER~

As for Happy and his two companions, it was as if a bucket of ice water had been thrown on them, triggering instinctual submission and terror.

They whimpered, tails tucked, and immediately dropped to the ground, lowering their heads and no longer daring to even glance in the direction of Great Sage and the raccoons.

Instant silence fell over the compartment.

Only Stone and the little leopard cubs looked on, bewildered, along with the raccoon brothers still trembling in the corner.

Yang Qi withdrew most of his aura, leaving just a faint, almost imperceptible trace to keep them in check. Then, using the Basic Spirit Communication Technique, he barked:

’All of you, stay down. Don’t move. Not a sound.’

’Anyone who disobeys gets no dinner tonight!’

Great Sage obediently lay down on its perch and curled up.

The three wolves, including Happy, also dutifully lay down in their designated area, not daring to make a peep.

Stone and the leopard cubs seemed to sense the change in atmosphere and also found their own spots to lie down quietly.

Although the raccoon brothers were still trembling, at least they had stopped crying out.

Inside the compartment, herbivores and carnivores, fierce beasts and cute critters, were now actually coexisting in temporary harmony. Though they kept their distance and remained wary of one another, the explosive, confrontational tension was at last gone.
