Chapter 603: Chapter 408: Future Tier Four (2)
If the Celestial Cloud Sect was to advance further, it could no longer remain a Core Formation Influence. At the very least, it had to become a Nascent Soul Influence.
"Alright. In that case, we’ll increase the pressure on the Dragon Demon Palace and ignore the Ghost Cultivator Influence."
"No." Fang Yun gently shook his head. "We need to increase the pressure on the Ghost Cultivators as well."
"Increasing the pressure on the Black Ghost Cave and the Ghost-Controlling Sect will benefit our overall operation," Song Qiaoqiao said, briefly explaining Fang Yun’s reasoning.
Fang Yun nodded in agreement.
Increasing the intensity of their operations within the Black Ghost Cave’s and Ghost-Controlling Sect’s territories was also an indirect warning to them.
The three of them chatted.
Over an hour later, Spiritual Qi surged overhead, and dark clouds blotted out the moonlight.
This was a Core Formation Phenomenon. In recent decades, Core Formation Phenomena had become a frequent occurrence for the Celestial Cloud Sect.
Fang Yun’s heart leaped with joy at the sight.
He knew who had successfully achieved Core Formation this time.
Zheng Chunyu!
The sect’s only Tier Three Array Master.
Now that Zheng Chunyu had broken through to the Core Formation Stage, with her talent, it was highly likely she could become a true Tier Four Array Master by the time she reached mid-stage Core Formation.
Zheng Chunyu, who possessed Four Spirit Roots, had used a Top-grade Golden Core Pill and the Core Formation Spiritual Object, Moon Sinking Water, to aid her breakthrough. The Top-grade Golden Core Pill was one that the Star Moon Valley had entrusted them to refine, which they later acquired in exchange for one of the sect’s Middle-grade Golden Core Pills.
"Now that Elder Zheng has successfully achieved Core Formation, our Celestial Cloud Sect’s future development will be even smoother once we become a Nascent Soul sect," Fang Yun remarked, his gaze fixed on the Core Formation Phenomenon.
The current upper echelon of the sect all knew that, given the Celestial Cloud Sect’s potential for growth, becoming a Nascent Soul Influence was a very real possibility.
A few hundred years ago, such a prospect would have been unimaginable to the sect’s leaders. Back then, they could only hope that the Celestial Demon Sect’s attacks wouldn’t be too fierce and lead to their annihilation.
"So it was Elder Zheng Chunyu who succeeded." The sect had two other Elders with the surname Zheng at the Peak of Core Formation, but upon hearing Fang Yun’s comment, Miao Qinghong immediately knew it had to be Zheng Chunyu.
Apparently, Song Qiaoqiao, like Fang Yun, already knew it was Zheng Chunyu who was breaking through to the Core Formation Stage.
"Now that Elder Zheng has succeeded, the sect now has fifteen Core Formation Cultivators."
"Fifteen Core Formation Cultivators... Publicly, at least, we’re now a top-tier Core Formation Influence."
As Song Qiaoqiao and Miao Qinghong exchanged remarks, Fang Yun fell silent.
He was currently considering something.
’Now that Zheng Chunyu has achieved Core Formation, it’s time to add more departments to the sect. We happen to have enough Supreme Elders for it now, too.’
’Among the Hundred Skills of Cultivation, the four most famous arts are Arrays, Pills, Artifacts, and Talismans.’
’Currently, the sect has no dedicated departments for Arrays or Talismans. I want to establish an Array Dao Hall and a Spirit Talisman Institute.’
’That way, the sect’s structure will become four peaks, four halls, and three institutes.’
’The sect already has two sub-sects. When it comes to naming conventions, I don’t want to be restricted by geography. If the Celestial Cloud Sect had possessed enough mountains in the past, it wouldn’t be structured as four peaks, three halls, and two institutes—it would just be the Nine Peaks.’
The Core Formation Phenomenon faded away.
Fang Yun led the two women to the front of the cave dwelling where Zheng Chunyu had secluded herself for her breakthrough.
Shortly after, a few other Supreme Elders also arrived one after another.
The stone door of the cave dwelling opened, and Zheng Chunyu, who had already broken through to the Core Formation Stage, emerged from within.
"Sect Leader, Supreme Elders."
"Congratulations on achieving Core Formation, Supreme Elder Zheng. This is your new token."
A Supreme Elder’s token appeared in Fang Yun’s hand. It was currently blank, but Zheng Chunyu would be able to use it once her information was transferred over.
"Thank you, Sect Leader!"
The entire process was very quick. In terms of status, Zheng Chunyu had completed the transition from Elder to Supreme Elder.
The breakthrough from Foundation Establishment to the Core Formation Stage was an all-around enhancement.
The increase in the strength of her Divine Sense alone would be a huge help to her as an Array Master.
With her breakthrough in cultivation realm, the bottleneck that had been holding her back in the Array Dao was shattered as well.
Compared to when she was in the Foundation Establishment stage, she could now wield the sect’s All Things Five Elements Array with much greater power.
As long as she was stationed at the main sect, even an Early-stage Nascent Soul cultivator from the Evil Demons and Crooked Paths would need a very long time to breach their sect’s Grand Array.
Such was the improvement in her mastery of the Array Dao.
Now that she had reached the Core Formation Stage, she could slowly begin to study Tier Four arrays. The only problem was that the Celestial Cloud Sect currently lacked the necessary books.
To obtain these books, she would have to make a trip to the Purple Mist Sect.
In Zheng Chunyu’s plans, she intended to visit the Purple Mist Sect at least once within the next three years. If she was needed for matters within the sect, another Supreme Elder could be sent to the Purple Mist Sect instead. After all, the sect had plenty of Supreme Elders now.
Among all the Supreme Elders, the majority came from Battle Peak. Since only four Supreme Elders were needed to act as guardians for the First and Second Sub-Sects, some of the Supreme Elders from Battle Peak were left available.
As for the Sect Elders, sending a Foundation Establishment Elder to the Purple Mist Sect to acquire books on Tier Four arrays would show a great lack of sincerity. At the very least, a Supreme Elder at the Core Formation Stage would have to make the trip.
It would be best if she could pay the visit herself.
After Zheng Chunyu broke through to the Core Formation Stage, Fang Yun had a long talk with her.
Much of their conversation was about future plans for the sect’s grand arrays.
In particular, the main sect’s Grand Array would definitely need to be upgraded to a Tier Four array in the future, once the Tier Three Top-Grade Spirit Vein was upgraded to a Tier Four Lower Grade Spirit Vein.
With the Spirit Vein Essence supplied by the two sub-sects’ Tier Three Middle-Grade Spirit Veins, plus the Spirit Vein Essence supplied by all the vassal Foundation Establishment forces, the main sect’s Tier Three Top-Grade Spirit Vein was growing very quickly. It was expected to break through and become a Tier Four Spirit Vein within the next hundred years or so.
"Don’t worry, Sect Leader. I already have a general idea for upgrading the Sect Array. I am confident I can become a Tier Four Array Master before the sect’s Spirit Vein is upgraded."
"That’s good." Fang Yun nodded.
He could leave these sect matters to Zheng Chunyu without having to worry too much.
「About half a month later, in the grand hall of Cloud Summit.」
Fang Yun met with Supreme Elder Lin Caixuan of the Wind Ling Sect.
Lin Caixuan was being groomed as the next Sect Leader of the Wind Ling Sect. The current Wind Ling Sect Leader didn’t have much time left, and Lin Caixuan was expected to become the Sect Leader within the next fifty years.
"Sect Leader Fang, when are you planning to make your move?" Lin Caixuan asked.
Her Sect Leader had instructed her to come to the Celestial Cloud Sect to discuss the all-out assault against the Dragon Demon Palace.
Previously, Fang Yun had said they needed to wait for the right moment. The fact that she was here now meant that the moment had arrived.
"In one month, we can launch the final assault."
"Good."
Lin Caixuan nodded. This was the outcome she had been hoping for.
As far as she was concerned, the sooner the final assault on the Dragon Demon Palace began, the better.
"Do you need our help with the Black Ghost Cave and the Ghost-Controlling Sect?" Lin Caixuan asked.
Until now, the Celestial Cloud Sect had been dealing with the attacks from the Black Ghost Cave and the Ghost-Controlling Sect all by themselves; the Wind Ling Sect hadn’t been of any help on that front.
"No need. You can just focus on dealing with the Dragon Demon Palace," Fang Yun said, shaking his head gently.
With the Celestial Cloud Sect’s current overall strength, they could easily handle the Black Ghost Cave and the Ghost-Controlling Sect even while launching an all-out offensive against the Dragon Demon Palace.
They also had enough manpower to handle it all.
Lin Caixuan had some understanding of the Celestial Cloud Sect’s current overall strength.
She had heard a few days ago that another elder from the Celestial Cloud Sect had successfully achieved Core Formation, bringing the total number of Core Formation Cultivators in the sect to a full fifteen.
’What did that even mean?’
Two hundred years ago, her Wind Ling Sect, the Celestial Cloud Sect, the Star Moon Valley, and the Vast Sea Sect combined would have had to pool all their Core Formation Cultivators just to surpass the number the Celestial Cloud Sect had now.
Upon arriving, she had also heard the latest piece of news.
The Celestial Cloud Sect’s Sword Cultivator, Miao Qinghong, had already broken through to Late-stage Core Formation.
This had raised the Celestial Cloud Sect’s overall strength yet again.
There were still necessary questions to ask, but none of Fang Yun’s answers surprised her.
As they spoke, Fang Yun took out a map.
The map was covered in markings within the Dragon Demon Palace’s territory.
"Your Wind Ling Sect will launch a full-scale attack from these two directions. You can leave the rest to our Celestial Cloud Sect," Fang Yun said, gesturing on the map as he spoke.
Lin Caixuan looked at the directions of attack Fang Yun had assigned them. They were indeed perfectly suited for the Wind Ling Sect; she could find no fault in his plan.
They quickly reached a consensus.
