Chapter 1788: Chapter 1635: Stylist 11
The man who’d just had two sheets of paper slapped onto him by Tao Shuangshuang was scared out of his mind, babbling nonsense as he begged for mercy, frantically insisting he had shocking information to tell.
Before Tao Shuangshuang could say anything, the boss over there heard the commotion and suddenly started thrashing wildly, his body struggling and making noise, the mouth that was stuffed began to let out muffled "mm mm mm" sounds.
It was obvious the boss was threatening that man who’d been scared to pieces by Tao Shuangshuang, warning him not to talk nonsense.
Even though the boss was tied up, the way he was thrashing around still made that man, who’d originally been scared half to death by Tao Shuangshuang and wanted to spill something, shiver and clamp his mouth shut, not daring to keep talking.
Tao Shuangshuang wasn’t in a hurry. She leisurely fiddled with the little yellow book in her hand, half-smiling as she said to the man who’d fallen silent: "Afraid of your boss? His little life is already in my hands."
Tao Shuangshuang bent down and patted his pale, ice-cold face. "Are you sure you want to piss me off because of him? I’ve got a bad temper. But if you want to be loyal and keep quiet, that’s fine too."
Tao Shuangshuang turned around and sat down on the chair, held up two fingers in front of him and said with a pleasant smile: "I’ll give you two choices. One, you keep your own little life and tell me a story—tell me a true story.
The other is, you play loyal, don’t sell out your boss. But then you’ll have to play a game with me. Telling stories or playing games—which one do you pick?"
The man shuddered in front of Tao Shuangshuang, staring at the little yellow book in her hands, only feeling that what those long fingers were flipping wasn’t pages, but his own life.
The boss was terrifying, and he was scared that if he exposed the boss, the boss would have him killed. But right now, both his and the boss’s lives were clenched in this female fiend’s hands.
If he didn’t talk, he probably wouldn’t live through tonight. If he talked, maybe the boss would be tormented to death by this female fiend. And if he pleased her, maybe he wouldn’t have to die.
With that thought, the man started shivering as he said, "I—I’ll talk. Our boss once grabbed a lot of out-of-towners who came here to work, people with no family or friends, and some girls who didn’t like going out and didn’t have any close contacts, brought them to this compound to ’play.’
Those girls who couldn’t endure it and got played to death, the boss had us bury them out in the barren hills. The ones who didn’t die but we got bored of, we’d transport them out and sell them into the mountains. Once, our boss grabbed a really fiery girl, she..."
The man, terrified out of his wits by Tao Shuangshuang and now on a roll, was a bit choppy at first, but the more he talked the more he spilled. Even with the boss over there muffled and rambling in protest, kicking and struggling like crazy, it was useless.
Not only did this man start talking, the people tied up next to him, seeing him spill their past deeds, were scared that once he was done they’d have nothing left to say when it came to their turn, so one after another they joined in.
Tao Shuangshuang listened with a blank face; even that fake smile couldn’t be maintained anymore. These people were pure scum, human garbage. God knows how many innocent girls’ lives were on their hands!
Earlier, Tao Shuangshuang had spent all this time toying with them because she could tell none of these guys were decent, they’d definitely done illegal things. She’d planned to scare those stories out of them, then call the cops and have them all sent to rot in prison.
Tao Shuangshuang truly hadn’t expected these beasts to actually have lives on their hands—and quite a few. The ones they killed were all young girls in the prime of their lives. The first girl they killed had only died by accident.
That girl was a migrant worker, usually quiet and withdrawn, with few friends and barely any contact with family. But she was pretty, and the boss took a liking to her.
At the start, the boss only pretended to pursue the girl. The girl wanted nothing to do with him, dodged him whenever she could.
The boss didn’t have much patience. After chasing for a few days, he got fed up and told his underlings to grab the girl and bring her to this compound at the foot of the barren hill.
This compound used to be a dog kennel, a place for breeding dogs. There were a lot of dogs in the kennels, always noisy, so it couldn’t be in a residential area, would disturb the neighbors.
Plus, this kennel had many large dogs. Big dogs have strong deterrent power—having them around meant no fear of bad guys coming, so that’s why the compound was built so remote.
Later, the kennel’s business collapsed and the place was left empty. The boss rented it, and it was perfect for bringing the girl he’d caught here to torture, without worrying about anyone finding out.
After that girl got tormented to death by the boss, he simply had her buried in the barren hills outside the compound. That hill had no scenery, no one went up there; burying a dead person, nobody would discover it.
After killing for the first time, the boss and his underlings laid low for a while, jittery and scared it would be exposed. But after a long stretch of calm, the boss’s courage grew.
He took a few of his lackeys and prowled around looking for girls with few friends and little family, ones who were alone. When they caught them alone in some remote spot, they’d grab them, then use a minivan to bring them to this compound, torturing and abusing them for fun.
In the beginning, the boss and his crew only stopped once they’d played the girls to death. Later, they decided killing them was a waste, so they started selling off the ones they got bored of to the mountain areas.
They were very careful in picking their targets, all modern "invisible people" in society—for example, the shut-in girl living across the hall that you might not see for half a year.
The defining trait of these people is they don’t like making friends in real life and hate petty social games, so most of their social circle is online. People like that basically disappear with almost no chance of being noticed.
After all, they have very few real-life ties. Online, nobody pays attention to whether someone’s missing. People pop up one day and vanish the next.
Losing contact with someone on the internet really isn’t a big deal, because odds are they just changed accounts. No one will notice.
Even if someone realizes a person’s gone missing, with such simple social ties and no obvious enemies, it’s very hard to trace where they went. You can’t even be sure if they’re dead or in trouble.
From the time the boss killed the first girl to now, less than a year had passed, and they already had seven or eight lives on their hands and had sold around a dozen girls into the mountains.
After hearing all this, Tao Shuangshuang really wished she could just kill them all. Calling them animals was an insult to animals.
She was burning to kill, but Tao Shuangshuang still took a deep breath and held back. If she killed them and it got traced to her, she’d be screwed. Not worth it for a few pieces of trash.
Tao Shuangshuang asked clearly where those dead bodies were buried, then made a phone call to the police and sent over the recording she’d just made.
Because the matter was serious and involved quite a few victims, the police response was extremely fast. They quickly followed the location Tao Shuangshuang gave in her report and arrived at the little compound.
When the fully armed officers entered the house, what they saw was Tao Shuangshuang sitting quietly on a chair, waiting, and a circle of evil thugs tied together, all bawling with snot and tears.
