Chapter 1812: Chapter 1657: Death Game 9
Shuangshuang glanced at the short knife hanging at her waist, continuing, "Actually, there are a lot of things that don’t necessarily need us to explain.
Even if we don’t say anything, calm and smart newcomers can figure it out themselves. For instance, I didn’t mention weapons, but didn’t you know, and even found one?
You don’t have to worry that I will harm you. This game has rules; players are not allowed to harm each other, or even plot against each other, because the game will find out.
Anyone who dares to attack a player in the game will be obliterated by the game, so I truly want to exchange information with you, with no other intentions.
If you still don’t trust me, I can tell you what I’ve discovered first, and you can share your information afterward.
The principal of this school has an extremely jealous wife, with a very strong possessiveness towards him, to the degree that she would throw a fit just for him greeting another woman.
Just two months ago, the principal was found speaking a few words to Teacher Fan, which led to his wife confronting Teacher Fan and almost scratching her face.
The principal lost face because of this, and in his anger, he resolved to divorce his wife, no matter how much she pleaded.
Eventually, wearing a red dress, the principal’s wife jumped off the rooftop of the school office building.
And it was since the principal’s wife’s suicide that the students noticed injuries on Teacher Fan’s body, suggesting possible domestic abuse."
Shuangshuang didn’t expect that the buzz-cut man’s information would be so useful. She felt she had some leads, but couldn’t be sure yet.
Since he had sincerely shared useful information, Shuangshuang decided not to take advantage of him. Before Chi Qing left, he had left a diary with her.
Shuangshuang took out the diary and handed it to the buzz-cut man: "This is what Chi Qing and I found in the principal’s office—if you combine it with your information, it might be useful."
The buzz-cut man took the diary from Shuangshuang’s hand: "Thank you."
Shuangshuang waved her hand: "No need to thank me, it’s just an exchange." After speaking, she left, as she still needed to search the office building.
The students at this school must enter the dormitory by eight o’clock, and lights must be turned off by nine. After nine, the dormitory supervisor will patrol, and any room with a light on will be penalized.
Following the game’s prompt, Shuangshuang entered her room which had six beds, but only five were occupied.
When Shuangshuang entered, the other four girls were chatting and warmly invited her to join the gossip squad when they saw her.
Shuangshuang intended to collect information, and the two useful pieces she heard today came from these girls, so she gladly joined.
However, Shuangshuang miscalculated this time, because, to her surprise, the girls mostly talked about cosmetics, clothes, and idol stars.
Shuangshuang steered the conversation towards what she wanted to know and managed to find out that the principal indeed had a very fierce girlfriend.
Because once, a female student greeted the principal, accidentally stepped on a fruit peel, and almost slipped when the principal helped her, only to be slapped several times by the principal’s wife.
Although the principal later apologized and compensated the female student, she didn’t pursue it further, but it made him lose face and made the whole school aware of his overbearing, jealous wife.
As for the principal’s wife’s suicide, it was pretty much as the buzz-cut man had given to Shuangshuang.
It wasn’t long before lights out and sleep time. Shuangshuang had the upper bunk, so she grabbed the railing and climbed into her bed.
Knowing it was unsafe at night, Shuangshuang didn’t undress, nor did she take off her shoes, holding the handle of the short knife, lying down fully clothed.
After lights out, the room was enveloped in darkness, the window curtains blocking even the moonlight, making it feel as though you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face.
Shuangshuang dared not sleep, keeping her eyes open. Gradually, her eyes adjusted to the darkness and she could vaguely see a little.
Not long after the lights went out, Shuangshuang heard footsteps outside, and soon, a faint knocking was heard, sounding as if someone was knocking on the neighboring dormitory door.
Shuangshuang listened quietly, deducing that it was the Nail Girl living next door, so no one responded, and no one opened the door.
The knocking continued for several minutes and then fell silent. After about ten minutes, Shuangshuang heard someone gently knocking on her dorm room door.
The knocks weren’t loud, but in the stillness of the night, they seemed particularly loud and Shuangshuang sensed that the other girls in the dorm were also awake.
Upon hearing the knocks, the girls all covered their heads with their blankets, each one lying in bed pretending not to hear.
Shuangshuang kept her eyes on the door, pulling out her short knife, gripping it tightly, ready to see if the knife could kill a ghost if it came through that door.
Her eyes began to ache from staring so long, yet the door remained silent, not even a knock, as if the ghost had already left.
Shuangshuang frowned—could it be that easy to get through? This seemed too simple.
Just as Shuangshuang was mulling over this, she felt her bed being lightly tapped, making a faint sound.
The sound was so slight, one wouldn’t hear it if not for the silence, but Shuangshuang heard it, and her heart jumped!
She turned her head to look beneath her bed and saw a shadow on the floor, gripping one of the girls in the room by the neck.
The girl’s eyes rolled back as she struggled silently; it had been her hand brushing the bedside earlier!
It was obvious the shadow was a ghost! Shuangshuang’s heart pounded—when had this ghost gotten in without her noticing?
Shuangshuang quickly calmed herself. She didn’t know if the ghost would leave after killing this girl, but she wasn’t going to let it go.
She pulled the blanket off and silently jumped off the bed, raising her hand and stealthily swinging the knife towards the shadow’s neck.
The shadow didn’t expect anyone to dare attack it. Off guard, its dark head was chopped off by Shuangshuang, hitting the ground.
As its head hit the floor, a piercing ghostly wail came from the shadow’s head, and at the same time, its headless body turned and lunged at Shuangshuang, hands clawing!
