The Villain's Story

Chapter 986: Sacramento(3).

Chapter 986: Sacramento(3).

The stay in Sacramento went remarkably well, at least for Alan. He was given a suite to rest in by the ruler of the city, but from what he was hearing, the rest weren’t given the same treatment.

Twilight, as a whole, received proper hotel rooms for each person, with whatever they needed for provided for them, courtesy of Alan’s presence. Everyone else, on the other hand, was given scraps.

From the guilds, Behemoth and Titan were given small, rusty rooms that they had to stay in, Amanda Wells was also given the same room, albeit slightly better. The executives from the World Government and Association were forced to stay in the small offices they already had in the city.

Only Twilight was given proper rooms, which quickly drew the ire of everyone else. Alan didn’t really care much about it. All he thought about was visiting the beach where he was born quickly after finishing the darn mission.

He had no interest in the politics of the world, the only annoyance he had to deal with was when he was notified of a meeting he had to attend. Apparently, it came from the top brass of Sacramento, and Ryan and Howard wished he’d attend so they would have someone powerful on their side capable of pressuring the city leaders of Sacramento.

Why was the meeting called? Alan didn’t know. But since they were in a city ruled by mafia lords and demonic humans, he had an obligation to attend as the leader of the expedition.

He had to babysit a bunch of people and protect them from any outbursts from the evil guys. With a sigh, Alan got up and opened a portal to the Association building, where the leaders of the expedition were waiting.

Ryan, Howard, Amanda, and Alan himself would be the only ones going on this sudden meeting, and Alan only hoped it would be quick and without trouble. He hated any meeting that lasted more than half an hour.

He appeared at the front of the building, where the rest were already waiting for him. The expedition leaders greeted him, and Alan noticed the bags under their eyes.

’Seems like they aren’t getting enough sleep.’

He thought, before casting a simple rejuvenation and energizing spell on them. They appreciated the gesture. Alan turned to the person from Sacramento who would escort them... and...

And...

"PFFT!"

Alan couldn’t hold his laughter the moment he stared at the man, who had initially been spooked by Alan suddenly teleporting to their location. Alan didn’t care about that, though, he was more focused on the mans appearance.

"What the hell is that fit?! Haha!"

Half a head of hair, half fully shaved, same for his eyebrows as well, and the mismatched suit was the cherry on top. Alan barely managed to contain himself when the man introduced himself.

"Nice to meet you, Alan Peccator. I’m Cherry Hoppy Poppy."

"PFFT!"

He laughed again, as the man twitched with frustration. It didn’t dwell for long, however. It was as if he was used to such reactions. Alan didn’t doubt that, considering he managed to shake the calm nature of an ice dragon.

With a stupid laugh, Alan entered the car, followed by everyone else who had a semblance of energy return to their faces. The drive was relatively short. They were led to an underground complex.

Alan found it funny that Howard and Ryan were close to shitting bricks the deeper underground they went, as if they didn’t have any faith in him. He laughed inwardly.

Did they really think he couldn’t get them out of trouble? It was laughable. If this were like any other situation, perhaps they should show fear, but Alan was in his home environment.

Sacramento’s leaders didn’t have the advantage in their home ground, Alan did.

Why? Because the top brass was made of people who used the element of Chaos, and Alan could wrest control of the element from them with ease. Aranus was made for the Chaos element, and Alan was second only to him in his own body.

Furthermore, with the information he had, Alan knew almost all of them were physical fighters, and with his usage of aura, Alan could defeat all of them in a brawl if they didn’t have their signature element to use. His belief of his strength was further cemented by the knowledge of their leader.

Jyle Hikkins, the leader of Sacramento, and one of the five SSS-rank humans present on Earth, was a user of the element of Death and Darkness. And was there any more to be said?

Even if Alan didn’t have an inkling on how to use his own [Death] affinity, the fact remained that he was now the Prince of Death. In his veins was the blood of the Primordial Dragon of Death, Ariel herself. The Dragon that created the concept of the eternal end in a fit of grief and rage.

And Alan knew whatever [Darkness] the man could use would pale in front of the [Darkness] he himself could conjure... much less Valus himself. His resistances to those two elements were near the extreme. You realistically couldn’t go any higher unless you were the Supreme of the element in question.

Last time he checked, both of those spots were filled. Alan was walking into a place where had the complete advantage. The only worry was using [Chaos] in front of so many people, letting them know he also had an affinity for the accursed element.

But Alan was over his fears now, he had... embraced Aranus’s element, and his pride of being Dragon, God Beast, and Void Spawn ultimately made him consider the opinions of other species as... nonexistent.

Alan heaved a sigh, as Ryan tapped him on the shoulder. He woke up from his trance, noticing that they had arrived. He was the first to get out of the car, and put up a barrier around his three musketeers as Cherry Hoppy Poppy...

’Pfft...’

As the man led them to the meeting place. He guided them through the halls until they found themselves in an... archaic room, with numerous paintings of people and overly lavish artifacts decorating it. Alan almost cringed at the display of ’wealth’ and silently took his seat at the table, sitting on one end.

Ryan, Howard, and Amanda took their seats next to him, and Alan looked at the other people on the table. As Cherry Hoppy Poppy took his seat, Alan... was stupefied.

’City of demonic humans my ass, more like city of people with a dogshit sense of fashion.’

Now, considering this was coming from Alan who would wear anything he wanted, it was... something. Alan though Cherry Hoppy Poppy was a weirdo, but there were three more like him on this table.

One guy had a strange pair glasses where one side was remarkably smaller than his own eye, while the other side was big enough to reach the top of his head. The idiot was also dressed in his underwear.

Dirty underwear.

There was another buffoon who was cosplaying a minotaur, one that had a mismatched set of horns and patches of mismatched threads on his suit... Alan honestly wanted to punch the man.

Minotaur’s and him didn’t really get along, now did they?

Then, the last and final guy, was the weirdest of them all. He was... above. He was literally glued to the ceiling wearing nothing but a tight white... suit. A skin-suit? Alan didn’t know what they were calling, just that the fabric was clinging way too tight to his skin to be comfortable. Alan had an incredulous look on his face as he scrutinized the four idiots.

Sure, they were powerful. But they were weird, way too fucking weird. Alan would have understood it if they were wearing powerful artifacts... but it seemed that was just their sense of fashion.

Alan let out a sigh, as he observed the other, thankfully, more normal people in the room. His eyes stuck to the two demons for a little while. One was a pit-fiend that obviously used fire, while the other was a little imp with specks of light and chaos around him.

That was rare, considering Light was an affinity that almost never appeared together with chaos, and if it did, the [Chaos] element mostly destroyed it.

As he looked at the two demons for longer than he should have, of course, everyone in the room noticed. They didn’t say anything, however. Alan wasn’t being hostile to them, but just searching within his body for them.

He was looking to see if his demonic blood would react to them. Although he was only a little demonic, his demonic parts came from none other than Suleras and Aranus, with that said.

He was at the top of the demonic hierarchy.

So, he was searching to see if his demonic blood would react to them. Perhaps an urge to dominate them? To protect them? Or even to kill them? He was looking for such answers, but his blood remained dormant, much to his dismay.

Alan sighed to himself, something which caused everyone at the table to tense up for some reason. Regardless, he remained silent and waited for the leader of the city to appear, and soon enough, he was here.

’Oooooohh, didn’t think I’d see that here.’

Alan whistled as he saw him approach, his three musketeers rose from their seats and quickly drew their weapons as they shouted at him to do something.

Alan just shrugged his shoulders, sensing no hostility from the top dog of Sacramento.
