Chapter 990: The SSS-ranked.
A total of six SSS-ranked beings existed on Earth, officially on the side of Humanity, or at the very least, not hostile to it. With Ragnar Drakmor’s ascension to Pseudo Epic, the number became five.
Arken Miller, the Sword Saint, currently the strongest recognized SSS-rank being.
Oliver Olsfer, The Sage, also known as the War Sage.
Jyle Hikkins, The Rebel, also known as The Lich, ruler of Sacramento.
Muhammad Iqbal, The Sun Spear, also known as the Chariot.
Lin Jingya, The Forest of Ruin, also known as the Druid.
These five stand at the top of the world, the five human beings who accomplished the most in the invasions and were the main reason for Humanity’s first ever victory against the demonic forces. These five played a major role in pushing the demons back into the Abyss.
Arken Miller is the one who has killed the most demons, single handedly stopped entire invasions and has a tendency to fight beings above his rank. The Sword Saint is a symbol of Humanity’s resilience and unending wrath.
Oliver Olsfer, The War Mage, is the one who famously brought back the day during a dreadful night where the Capitol was being invaded by the Demonic Forces. The ’day’ in this regard were hundreds of thousands of spells raining down on the demonic forces. He has also singlehandedly improved humanity’s understanding of magic, and has led many mages to prosperity.
Jyle Hikkins, The Rebel, who rebelled against the demonic rulers of his city and overthrew them. He quickly joined the war effort afterwards as Jyle and his forces kited the flank of the demonic forces. Once he had ’amassed’ a large enough army, he effectively led the largest force that remained in the United States and ended the demonic presence there.
Muhammad Iqbal, The Chariot, who united the struggling middle east and single handedly chased down an army of demons from Morocco, all the way to Pakistan. The ’Chariot’ did not rest until every single retreating demon was dead.
Lin Jingya, The Forest of Ruin, also known as the First Healer type awakened. With her special magic and affinity, she reduced the number of casualties on her end and established Field Forests which acted as ’Hospitals’ and ’Battlefields’, as well create bastions of defense in the eastern regions. The east quickly rallied under her, and were able to expel the demons from her land. Despite being a Healer, she has single handedly defeated a Demonic Duke.
These are the Golden First Generation, largely believed to be the reason why humanity still has a chance against the demonic invasion, or more accurately, the Martial Star. They are also not alone. Each and every single one of them has the full support of the Association, The World Government, and the favor of their people. They are supported not only by the entire world, but also hidden masters at rank S and SS, those of the same generation that could not reach rank SSS.
Now, when one of these legendary five appear in front of you, offering their ’loyalty’ to you in exchange for something you could easily do, would you ever decline? Of course, Jyle Hikkins doesn’t have as stellar of a reputation as the other four, but he is still SSS-rank, and feared across the world by both humans and demons alike.
Furthermore, the end decision in this case did not lie with Alan Peccator. The moment Ariel, Valus, and Kulak acknowledged his efforts, he was already considered a part of the House of Death. Alan could not deny that even with his position. While Jyle did not have a stellar reputation on Earth...
The House of Death quite honestly didn’t give a single damn about it. He followed their rules, he honored Death despite the severity of his situation, and had did his best to abide by them throughout his rule. He had successfully evolved into a Great Lich, one many struggle to do. Furthermore, he quite literally had the unconditional backing of a Legendary Being, Jahal, The Arch Lich would support him the moment he learnt how Jyle became a Great Lich.
Ariel, The Primordial Dragon of Death, Valus, The Supreme Dragon of Darkness and the current Head of the House as well as even the elusive Kulak had given their approval. He was a part of the house already, even if he didn’t have any sort of official identification.
The Magic of the Three Dragons had descended upon him the moment he declared he would be loyal, marking him as one of the House of Death, anyone outside of Earth above the rank of SSS would be able recognize that mark. Since he had gained the approval of the Three Head Dragons, Alan had to accept him.
Did he hate it? No, he loved it. He was slightly annoyed that Ragnar was loyal to Elijah because of his connections, so now that he had the same opportunity, he was excited.
"Alright, though your already considered a member of the House."
A flash of happiness appeared on the skeletal face replaced by confusion. Alan was surprised he was able to understand the expressions on the face of a skeleton, but chalked it up to his lineage.
"How so?"
Jyle asked, clearly confused. Alan sighed and explained.
"You followed the rules as best you could, followed the path of ascension of the Liches of the House of Death. Your a part of it, dude. Though you have no official identification, the magic of my grandmother, the big bad continent sized dragon is present within you. Anyone at or above the rank of rank of SSS outside in the universe is able to recognize it..."
He trailed of at the end of his sentence, as the voice of Valus rang in his mind. Alan scratched his head, something which confused the Lich sitting at the other end of the table. Alan grumbled a little before taking out his medallion from his spatial storage.
Holding it in his hand, he showed it to Jyle, who watched with interest.
"This is considered official documentation. Big organizations choose to use large medallions like these for it instead of identity cards or whatever."
"May I ask why?"
"Honestly, I don’t know. Apparently Medallions are the best since they are big enough to function as an expansive spatial storage as well, and can be... decorated to show the significance of the beholder to the organization."
’...Oh yeah, maybe that’s why it’s so extravagant.’
As he said that, he noticed the ’decorations’ on his own medallion. He never paid much attention to it, but his medallion was a work of art. With all of the things the House of Death put inside it, it was also pretty valuable. Alan simply never recognized it.
Perhaps he had a lack of appreciation for beauty? No, that wasn’t it. His girlfriend was living proof he had a good eye for that.
Alan discarded those thoughts with a shake of his head and willed his mana to flow into the Medallion. He reached out into the spatial storage and grabbed another Medallion, a normal one that was apparently present in the spatial storage.
We took into account that your planet is new, therefore we added a few extra medallions in your own, just in case.
’You knew people would want them?’
Why wouldn’t they? We are the House of Death, everybody wants to join us. If we go strictly by population, we are the largest in the entire universe.
’...That’s kind of crazy to think about.’
Turns out treating every race as the same, and proclaiming that Death is equal to all gives you a pretty good reputation. That and also abolishing slavery and rescuing prosecuted races.
Alan rolled his eyes at the blatant boasting, and finished the process Valus informed him of. Within seconds, another medallion appeared in his hand. The same size as his own, but evidently less... decorated. Alan threw it towards Jyle, who quickly caught it with a shimmer in his... fiery eyes.
"Once you input your mana signature into the medallion, it will serve as your identification in the known universe. It has it’s own spatial storage and is linked to you such that no one can open it besides you, and besides that, it’s honestly a phone, just without the useless features."
"Ahhh..."
Jyle quickly did as Alan said, and the medallion soon recognized his mana signature. The Lich held it like it was a priceless treasure, which, to his credit... it probably was on Earth. Not only did the Medallion serve as a form of identification, but it was also an archive of knowledge.
It contained a lot of information, so much that Alan would get a headache even if he used [Dragon Eyes] to scan it. With it, Jyle would have a much better time diversifying his knowledge about Liches, and how to advance to the next level. Furthermore, it was also an expansive spatial storage, better than Alan’s own rings.
Whether he would be able to advance was up to him, however. But Alan was satisfied, the same as the Three Dragons above him.
"Well, I suppose that was everything. I’ll be going back to my room to sleep, got a big adventure ahead. Ah, also, the medallion will probably show it’s true worth once this war is over but before that... mind doing me a favor?"
"Which is?"
"Join Twilight, I’d love seeing Richard’s reaction upon seeing your application."
The lich chuckled, and agreed.
"Very well, I’ll get to my application right away."
"Neat."
