She Lives without Regret in This Life

Chapter 1929 - 75: Don’t Want to See You

Chapter 1929: Chapter 75: Don’t Want to See You

"Have you forgotten what I talked to you about?" Ping Guo Fei asked. He had tried counseling her at length, analyzing the pros and cons bit by bit. If she still refused to heed his advice, he would send her back to the countryside for good, never bringing her to the city again.

This was what Ping Simin feared the most. She had grown up in the city and looked down upon rural areas, which were dirty, chaotic, and had inferior living conditions. The food was even worse, and she wouldn’t agree to go back to the countryside.

"I haven’t forgotten."

"Apologize to Gu Yunbo."

Ping Simin’s eyes turned red at the word, and she replied indignantly, "Why should I apologize to her?"

"Because you were disrespectful, because you acted foolishly."

Gu Yunbo shook her head helplessly; Ping Guo Fei saying this only made Ping Simin hate her more! In truth, she didn’t need Ping Simin’s apology at all.

"I’m sorry." Ping Simin didn’t feel she was wrong — she owed an apology now — but she’d remember this moment forever.

"Hmph, hmph, hmph..." Gu Yunbo sneered; she wouldn’t say "it’s fine"!

"Yunbo," Ping Guo Fei reprimanded unhappily, "Simin apologized, you shouldn’t act like this."

Indeed, Ping Simin apologized, so Gu Yunbo was expected to unconditionally say, "It’s okay," and accept it happily. The Ping Family’s ethics wouldn’t change across generations; perhaps they always had a God-like perspective!

What she despised most was others using a God-like perspective with her.

The tension in the living room was palpable as the three sat silently, and soon after, Ping Qing returned. He entered and was surprised to see Gu Yunbo sitting there, recalling what he had heard, his brows furrowed tight.

"You went to the Old Mansion today?"

"Hmm!" Gu Yunbo nodded, casually eating peanuts placed on the table under Ping Simin’s glaring stare.

Ping Qing took off his thick clothes, sat opposite Gu Yunbo, and stared at her with mesmerized eyes.

"What’s the matter? Is there something written on my face?"

"Nothing," Ping Qing shook his head.

"Oh!" She realized these people loved to act all mysterious. Really! Gao Jinglin was better, straightforward and never beating around the bush.

When most of the peanuts were eaten, Gu Yunbo clapped her hands and said, "Right, I’m going back home for a while."

Zhu Meihua hurriedly stepped out of the kitchen, where she was cooking, "Why are you going back home?"

Everyone else stared at her in astonishment, and Zhu Meihua recognized her own urgency, awkwardly saying, "I wouldn’t feel at ease if you go alone. How about I go with you?"

"No need, I’m just going back to pay respects at my mom’s grave, I don’t need anyone with me." Gu Yunbo looked up straight at Zhu Meihua, then curled her lips, "Perhaps my mom wouldn’t want to see you."

Zhu Meihua’s expression shook, "Then..."

"Don’t you need to work?" Ping Guo Fei said, "That place is too remote; going back and forth will take at least twenty days."

"I’ll go back alone." She had taken a leave from Teacher Guo for two months — knowing that was the maximum he’d accept — though she planned for half a year.

To see results from training, at least half a year was necessary. For Gao Jinglin, even longer, as she considered him one of her own and needed more time.

"Alright, let’s eat!" Ping Guo Fei called out.

The matter that lasted over ten days was brushed over with a roomful of meals. Truthfully, everyone had their own grievances at heart, but life had to go on; if no one wished to outright break ties now, they just pretended to be unaware.
