The Elven Cultivator

Chapter 243 - 224: There’s Actually Someone He Doesn’t Know

Chapter 243: Chapter 224: There’s Actually Someone He Doesn’t Know

"A Legendary Tier Golem..."

Darian tilted his head back, gazing at the mountain-like colossus, his knuckles turning white as he gripped his Magic Staff.

The Dawn Continent was home to a wide variety of Alchemy Puppets, from the lowest-grade wooden puppets with only White Rank combat power, to Black Iron Tier stone Golems, and even Silver Tier Refined Gold Golems—they had them all.

It was rumored that during the war to conquer the Darkness Fortress, the Heart of the Mountains had even deployed powerful Golden Tier Golems.

But even so, Darian had never heard of a Legendary Tier Golem.

It was simply unheard of!

In his mind, the Golems created by the Heart of the Mountains using Demon Crystal technology, as well as the Five Camp Divine Soldiers that Anton had refined—which could form arrays to suppress even those at the Golden Peak—were already the pinnacle of Alchemy Puppets.

He had never imagined he would one day see a Legendary Golem.

The other Elves were also filled with shock, staring at the Golem before them as if facing a formidable foe.

However, Laine and the other disciples of Taichu City, while still horrified, reacted a little more calmly than the others.

According to their understanding, in the cultivation system’s path of puppetry, Daoist Soldiers with combat power reaching the Legendary Tier were not uncommon.

For example, the twelve Guardian Divine Generals of the Six Ding and Six Jia, even the weakest of whom possessed power close to that of a Nascent Soul Cultivator, far surpassing an ordinary Legend.

Not to mention the Heavenly Soldiers and Generals, and the Four Spirits Daoist Soldiers ranked even higher.

A deathly silence permeated the basin, with only the dark red light surging within the blood-colored barrier, flowing silently and casting every face in a glow that made them look as if they were submerged in blood.

To everyone’s relief, after killing the Di Luo Dwarven elder, the Golem remained motionless, showing no sign of attacking again.

But this did not put everyone at ease; instead, their hearts grew even heavier.

The blood-colored barrier enveloping the basin was still continuously draining their Life Force.

Unable to break the blood-colored barrier and helpless against the Golem, they were well and truly trapped in a hopeless situation.

The Elves had potions to sustain them, so they were not in immediate danger.

The subterranean creatures, however, were in a much more miserable state.

The injured and the weaker subterranean creatures below the Black Iron Tier were the first to collapse, falling to the ground one after another, their bodies melting like candles into pools of viscous blood.

Under the combined effects of the blood-colored barrier’s corrosion and their own despair, more of the subterranean creatures began to suffer mental breakdowns, letting out hysterical screams and wildly attacking their own companions.

They didn’t even have to wait to melt into blood; many of the subterranean creatures had already begun to slaughter one another.

The Rock Beast Ghost leader swiped his claws, killing a few of his mentally broken clan members. He struggled to suppress the violent killing intent in his heart as he said to Gustus in a low voice, "We can’t go on like this."

Gustus glanced at him. "Do you have a better idea?"

"We’ll have to risk it!" The Rock Beast Ghost leader’s gaze turned vicious as he looked at the Elven army opposite them. "We’ll snatch their potions and use them for our two clans."

"Our two clans have fewer members. With those potions, we can last much longer, and maybe we can find another way out of this."

The unspoken implication was that they would ruthlessly abandon the other subterranean races.

However, for subterranean creatures, this was standard practice.

In the Dark Nether Realm, the law of the jungle was the only Law; mercy and compassion would only get you killed faster.

Gustus wasn’t surprised in the slightest.

He was very tempted by the Rock Beast Ghost leader’s proposal.

The only problem was that they couldn’t defeat the Elven army before, and now that the Di Luo Dwarven elder was dead, they were clearly even less of a match.

But at this point, they had no better options.

Just as the Rock Beast Ghost leader had said, their only choice was to risk it all.

Romance keenly noticed the stirring from the other side and was about to order her troops to be on alert when she suddenly heard a sharp whistle tearing through the air from outside.

The sound seemed to come from extremely far away, yet it arrived in an instant.

Everyone looked toward the sound and saw a streak of mystic-gold light hurtling in from the distance. Like a meteor falling to earth, it trailed a long tail as it slammed into the blood-colored barrier.

HISS—!

It was a soft sound, like a red-hot poker piercing solid ice. The blood-colored barrier, which not even the three leaders combined could shake, was torn open before the mystic-gold light as if it were made of paper.

The streak of light shot through the opening without pause, then came to an abrupt halt above the basin. The light receded, revealing a tall, slender figure.

A moon-white robe billowed slightly in the wind. Pale golden hair was casually tied back, and his face was young and serene.

It was Anton.

"Anton!"

Upon seeing who it was, the tension in Romance’s heart instantly vanished, replaced by a look of joyous relief on her face.

"Teacher!"

Laine and the other disciples from Taichu City all had expressions of joyful surprise, their voices filled with uncontainable excitement.

"It’s the Clan Leader!"

"The Clan Leader is here!"

"We’re saved!"

The somber expressions on the Elven soldiers’ faces were instantly replaced by wild joy as they erupted in thunderous cheers.

The Ghost Scale Race and the Catmen were also visibly overjoyed, their tense shoulders finally relaxing.

In their eyes, Clan Leader Anton was a being who could fight a Legendary Giant Dragon head-on, the undisputed strongest expert of the Silver Moon Clan.

Now that he was here, all their problems would be solved.

In stark contrast to the Elves’ side was the reaction of the subterranean creatures.

The Rock Beast Ghost leader and Gustus stared blankly at the figure in the air, their pupils filled with utter horror.

’That blood-colored barrier that we couldn’t even damage together... this Elf just tore it open so casually?’
