Chapter 246: Chapter 246: He Wants to Hide Her Away

Fu Xiaoxiao chuckled, tweaking his nose, thinking he didn’t care at all! Turns out he’s been holding back his anger?

"Still angry?"

"She looks down on brother!" Lu Chen pouted, visibly upset.

"That’s impressive, holding back your anger just now for your brother. Xiao Chen has become sensible, hasn’t he?" Fu Xiaoxiao said with a smile. Previously, Lu Chen would vent his anger without hesitation, but now, here he is learning to be patient.

"I don’t want to make things hard for mom. My brother and I have made a pact not to cause mom any trouble!" Lu Chen hugged Fu Xiaoxiao’s leg, humming softly.

"What a thoughtful child who cares for his mother!" A female voice suddenly arose, interrupting Fu Xiaoxiao and Lu Chen.

Lu Chen looked up to see a pretty aunt, smiling at her. "Pretty aunt, are you talking about me?"

"Such sweet talk!" Fang Xiaohui’s eyes gleamed with laughter as she gently patted Lu Chen’s head. "But you can call me Teacher Fang, I am here to pick you up."

"Are you my teacher?" Lu Chen’s eyes lit up.

"Hello, Teacher Fang, I apologize for having you come to get us." Fu Xiaoxiao looked at Fang Xiaohui. It was their first meeting, yet it felt as if they’d known each other for a long time, and being with her felt comforting.

"Hello Mrs. Lu, I am Fang Xiaohui, also the head teacher of Class Two." Fang Xiaohui extended her hand towards Fu Xiaoxiao, and they exchanged smiles. "I’m pleased that Comrade Lu Chen has become a new student in our Class Two."

"Then it’s up to you to take care of Xiao Chen. The child is quite lively, so please look after him a bit more." Fu Xiaoxiao laughed lightly.

"No problem, he is the sweetest child I’ve ever seen, with honeyed words. I’m sure both teachers and classmates will like him." Fang Xiaohui smiled as she held Lu Chen’s hand.

"We are about to start class soon, Xiao Chen, do you need your mom to stay with you here?" Fang Xiaohui looked at Lu Chen, asking gently.

Lu Chen shook his head. "Mom, you’ll come to pick me up, right?"

"Of course. How could I bear to lose such a good son like you?" Fu Xiaoxiao chuckled, squatting down to kiss Lu Chen’s cheek.

"Hehe..." With Fu Xiaoxiao’s assurance, Lu Chen was overjoyed.

"Then Mrs. Lu, I’ll take the child inside." Fang Xiaohui smiled at Fu Xiaoxiao.

"Okay." Fu Xiaoxiao paused, watching Fang Xiaohui lead Lu Chen towards the kindergarten.

Lu Chen was about to enter the room when he turned around to wave goodbye to Fu Xiaoxiao.

Only after Lu Chen’s figure was out of sight did Fu Xiaoxiao turn around to leave.

Returning home, the once bustling house suddenly felt empty, making Fu Xiaoxiao somewhat unaccustomed.

Without Lu Chen occasionally coming to kiss and hug, to amuse her, and without Lu Xin tenderly fetching water and massaging her back, everything felt so empty at once.

Fu Xiaoxiao sat in the yard basking in the sun, enjoying the tranquility.

After lying for a while, with warmth all over, Fu Xiaoxiao returned indoors, took out the fabric she bought last time.

Recalling the styles in department stores nowadays, all of which are similar, Fu Xiaoxiao decided to make her own.

She cut the needed fabrics and marked them on specified areas, cutting them out one by one. After completing this step, Fu Xiaoxiao brought these fabrics to the sewing machine.

The colorful thread passed through the needle, the orderly hum of the sewing machine being the only sound at home, as Fu Xiaoxiao stepped on the pedal, with each stitch forming a line under her action.

A dress gradually took shape in her hands, Fu Xiaoxiao flipped it to sew the stitches underneath, perfectly finishing the seam.

Looking at her masterpiece, Fu Xiaoxiao picked up the iron kettle filled with hot water, ironing the dress along the edges.

Unlike the dresses made with current styles, Fu Xiaoxiao’s dress incorporated other elements, perfectly showcasing the physique and fitting more closely to the body.

Since she made it in her own size, the dress fit perfectly, Fu Xiaoxiao walked to the mirror, taking a look, then turning to check her waist from the side.

Unintentionally raising her gaze, she noticed Lu Feng had returned at some point, staring at her dazedly, unknown for how long he’d been standing.

"When did you come back?" Fu Xiaoxiao hadn’t noticed Lu Feng’s return at all.

Walking up to Lu Feng and waving a hand in front of him, Fu Xiaoxiao chuckled. How did this person become so foolish?

Lu Feng snapped back to reality, his eyes fixated on Fu Xiaoxiao.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Fu Xiaoxiao felt embarrassed under his gaze and asked.

"I feel I’ve truly wronged you before; you should be wearing such beautiful clothes every day." Lu Feng’s heart trembled.

Just as Lu Feng had pushed open the door, sunlight filtered through the lace curtains, scattering flecks of gold throughout the room. He intended to call Fu Xiaoxiao, but seeing her turn around in that instant, the words in his throat suddenly stuck.

She was wearing the newly made dress, the skirt embroidered with pale pink crabapple flowers swaying gently with her movement.

The same-colored satin ribbon around her waist outlined her slender figure, the collar slightly open to reveal her delicate collarbone and fair neck.

Her hair was casually pulled up, a few strands falling beside her cheeks, accentuating her snowy complexion, her eyes sparkling like gentle spring water.

Lu Feng only felt his heartbeat suddenly accelerate, his breath becoming a bit rapid.

He’s never seen Fu Xiaoxiao look so beautiful; she always dressed plainly before, but at this moment, she seemed like a fairy stepped out of a painting—so beautiful that it’s hard to look away.

His gaze involuntarily lingered on her, from her delicate features to her elegant posture, each part captivating him. A strong sense of possessiveness suddenly arose in his heart, wanting to hide her away from any other man’s sight of her enchanting appearance.

"Is it beautiful?" Fu Xiaoxiao turned, seeing Lu Feng still standing at the door, his face turning slightly red, she softly asked.

Lu Feng stepped forward, gently holding her wrist, pulling her towards him. He lowered his head, gazing at her, his voice deep and hoarse.

"Beautiful. So beautiful that it makes me want to hide you away, so no one else can see."

Under his intense gaze, Fu Xiaoxiao felt shy, wishing to pull back her hand, yet he held it tighter.

She looked up at him, seeing his eyes filled with deep love and possessiveness, that gaze seemed to melt her.

"Don’t look at me like that, as if you want to devour me!" Fu Xiaoxiao blushed, softly said.

Upon hearing this, Lu Feng’s heart stirred even more.

He lowered his head and gently kissed her forehead.

"How do you know my thoughts? I wish I could take her in, make her forever belong only to me."

"It’s still bright daylight now! You..." Fu Xiaoxiao helplessly protested, Lu Feng’s hand growing tighter, her face reddening as she softly pounded his chest, reminding him to be mindful.

"...Then wait until night." Knowing Fu Xiaoxiao was shy, Lu Feng leaned close to her ear, lightly nibbling her earlobe.

Fu Xiaoxiao stiffened all over, Lu Feng teased her, then released her.
