Sorry, Our Captain Is a True All-Rounder

Chapter 215: Finally Resolved

He’d been dodging and weaving across the battlefield with Shi Feng, but the blood monster still managed to find them every time.

Gu Kaiwen couldn’t understand how it found them so quickly and accurately.

And with such precision.

They were hiding high in the sky, for god’s sake, yet the blood monster’s tongue could still reach them.

“Does it have some kind of tracker on it? How can it find us so accurately every time?” Gu Kaiwen asked with a confused frown, but Shi Feng, cradled in his arms, didn’t respond.

Gu Kaiwen looked down and saw fresh blood trickling from the corner of Shi Feng’s mouth. His eyes were shut tight, and his face was deathly pale.

“Shi Feng!” Gu Kaiwen cried out, but the other man gave no response. He just lay quietly in his arms, looking as if he were on the verge of death.

Fear gripped Gu Kaiwen. He hurriedly found a place to stop, reaching out to feel for a pulse in Shi Feng’s neck. He found one. In that instant, Gu Kaiwen let out a huge sigh of relief.

‘Good, he’s still alive. He’s not dead.’

‘But by the looks of it, he won’t be able to hold on for much longer.’

But the monster kept chasing them, and no matter how they tried to hide, it was useless.

He hoisted Shi Feng onto his back, and the monster appeared again.

It let out a guttural, rattling sound, then its tongue shot out, striking in their direction.

Gu Kaiwen glanced back, then immediately broke into a run, shouting into the distance as he fled, “Feng He!”

“Where are you!”

“Feng He—!”

In the distance, Mo Xuan’s ears twitched. He frowned and scanned his surroundings, but the battlefield was a chaotic mess, and he couldn’t see anyone.

“What is it?” Feng He, who was beside him, asked quickly. “I heard Gu Kaiwen’s voice.”

“He’s calling for you,” Mo Xuan answered.

“Something must have happened,” Feng He said at once. She patted Mo Xuan’s shoulder and said seriously, “Quick, find out where they are.”

Mo Xuan nodded, then activated his far-sight and began scanning the area.

After five minutes, Mo Xuan finally spotted Gu Kaiwen at the edge of a distant forest, carrying Shi Feng on his back.

“I see them. They’re over there,” Mo Xuan said, pointing toward the edge of the forest.

“Let’s go. We’ll head over and see.”

The two of them ran in Gu Kaiwen’s direction. Meanwhile, Gu Kaiwen was still fleeing for his life, shouting Feng He’s name at the top of his lungs.

With Shi Feng on his back, he was completely exhausted.

But the blood monster behind him still refused to let him go, continuing its pursuit and lashing out at him with its tongue again and again.

“Don’t come any closer!” Gu Kaiwen yelled, and with a powerful kick, he sent the blood monster’s tongue flying.

Mo Xuan and Feng He arrived quickly. When Feng He saw Shi Feng on Gu Kaiwen’s back, his face deathly pale with blood at the corner of his mouth, she grew tense.

They both simultaneously shouldered their laser cannons and fired blasts at the blood monster behind Gu Kaiwen.

After a few blasts, the blood monster was knocked to the ground, its long tongue blown to pieces.

Gu Kaiwen ran over to them, set Shi Feng down, and immediately grabbed Feng He’s clothes. “Quick, heal him! He’s been like this ever since his Silver Whip was shattered.”

“Why did this happen?” Gu Kaiwen asked, frantic with worry.

This is what happens when you don’t pay attention in class. It was a classic case of spiritual power damage.

That Silver Whip was a manifestation of Shi Feng’s spiritual power, so when it shattered, his own spiritual power was damaged as a result.

And this type of damage is especially severe; sometimes, it can be fatal.

After hearing this, Feng He immediately tossed her laser cannon to him and knelt to examine Shi Feng.

After a quick examination, Feng He hastily took out an Advanced Spiritual Power Recovery Agent, uncapped it, and poured it into Shi Feng’s mouth.

After Shi Feng had swallowed the entire Recovery Potion, some color started to return to his face.

Spiritual power damage is one of the most difficult injuries to heal. Seeing this, Feng He picked Shi Feng up from the ground, carried him to a nearby stone block, and set him down.

After settling him down, she took Shi Feng’s hand and began to sing softly.

A nursery rhyme, of all things, rang out amidst the brutal war.

As the song continued, color slowly returned to Shi Feng’s pale face.

Feng He watched this, feeling a great sense of relief.

Meanwhile, the other two were still fighting the blood monster, whose attacks had grown much stronger.

“It got stronger again,” Gu Kaiwen said.

“Hmm?” Mo Xuan looked confused.

“When its tongue gets severed, it grows back, and it gets stronger in every way,” Gu Kaiwen explained. “So it’s better not to sever the tongue.”

After hearing this, Mo Xuan nodded, then charged straight at the blood monster.

“Is everyone this reckless?” Gu Kaiwen grumbled, watching the scene unfold, before charging in after Mo Xuan.

The two of them worked together with much better synergy. At the very least, Gu Kaiwen no longer had to divide his attention to worry about Shi Feng.

Mo Xuan wielded dual blades he had solidified from his spiritual power. They were incredibly sharp.

He leaped onto the blood monster’s body, took up his dual blades, and viciously slashed a large “X” across its back.

“HURGH—HURGH—”

The slash sent a jolt of pain through the blood monster, and a piercing shriek erupted from its mouth.

Mo Xuan’s hearing was the most sensitive, and the blood monster’s shriek was so powerful it made his ears bleed.

Ignoring the pain in his ears, he raised his blades and brought them down again, hacking viciously at the blood monster.

Gu Kaiwen, on the ground, also launched his attack, firing at the blood monster.

Laser cannon blasts bombarded the monster’s legs, again and again, until they finally brought it to its knees.

Mo Xuan aimed his blades at the blood monster’s head and plunged them deep into its skull.

He drove the blades in and out, and blood sprayed everywhere.

The blood monster thrashed in agony, letting out a deafening roar.

Mo Xuan was thrown off. He landed on the ground, his two blood-soaked blades in hand, his gaze fixed on the blood monster.

His fair face was spattered with blood, and with his bleeding ears, he looked an absolute wreck.

“Are you okay?” Gu Kaiwen asked hurriedly when he saw his state.

Mo Xuan waved his hand. “I’m fine. I’m going to cut its head off.” With that, he charged forward and hacked at the blood monster’s neck.

Gu Kaiwen provided support from the side. It took the two of them more than ten minutes to finally sever the blood monster’s head.

Once the head was off, the wildly thrashing torso slowly came to a halt.

Looking at the scene, Gu Kaiwen let out a long sigh. “Finally. It’s over.”

Mo Xuan prodded the torso with his foot, then breathed a sigh of relief himself.

But just as they dealt with the tough opponent, the monsters in the distance swarmed toward them.
