Chapter 236: I Wish to Marry You Miss—May I Know Your Feelings?

Chapter 236: Chapter 236: I Wish to Marry You, Miss—May I Know Your Feelings?

Rong Ling was dressed in a white robe, with silver thread outlining cloud patterns on the collar, cuffs, and hem. The clouds seemed to hover around him, making him appear even more noble and ethereal, like an immortal untainted by the mortal world.

However, if one looked closely, one could see a hint of coldness in his deep phoenix eyes.

Feng Qing immediately noticed that this guy was angry. Though apprehensive inside, she kept a calm face, glanced at Rong Ling quickly, and pretended not to recognize him.

"I don’t know why the gentleman is blocking my path?"

Feng Qing’s serious demeanor was as if she genuinely didn’t recognize Rong Ling standing in front of her.

Rong Ling looked at her pretending from a higher vantage point, truly amused by the anger she made him feel. She had caused such a big trouble, then left without a care, and now upon meeting again, she pretended not to know him.

Fine, just fine, he would play along with his little princess and see how long she intended to keep up this charade.

Immediately, Rong Ling gazed down coolly at Feng Qing, his indifferent expression also pretending not to recognize her, but the words he spoke were particularly infuriating.

"Three months ago, I lost my wife. Seeing the young lady today, I feel the young lady resembles my late wife a bit. I wish to take the young lady as my wife. Would the young lady be willing?"

Feng Qing was stunned, and so were Rong Ling’s followers behind him, glancing at Rong Ling and then at Feng Qing. So was this young lady the Princess Consort, or just someone who resembled her?

Feng Qing, after recovering from her shock, felt annoyed. Hmph, he once said he would let her live with unparalleled honor, and now after her ’death’, he was looking for another woman. Shameless.

Feeling indignant, Feng Qing said righteously, "I’m sorry, sir, but I have no intention to marry someone as a substitute."

Before Rong Ling could respond, she quickly continued, "Please, sir, step aside and let me pass. I want to go back."

Unfortunately, the fine steed in front of her didn’t move an inch. The person on horseback watched her intently, as if eyeing his prey.

Feng Qing felt a chill down her spine and spoke again, "Please move aside."

She couldn’t help but wonder if this bastard recognized her or not.

Feng Qing tried to calm herself, thinking she must not lose her momentum. Otherwise, if he didn’t recognize her, she might give herself away.

With this in mind, Feng Qing stood up straight, glaring at the man on horseback with determination.

Rong Ling lazily spoke up, "But I have taken a liking to the young lady."

Nan Feng and Nan Xuan exchanged confused looks, not sure what play the Prince was enacting.

Feng Qing was livid, thinking, damn it, what was this guy trying to pull?

With a dark expression, she looked up and glared at Rong Ling, saying, "Sorry, sir, but I don’t like you, so please don’t make things difficult for me."

Rong Ling casually replied, "Why does the young lady not like me? Would you like to take another look?"

His tone was like that of a rogue teasing a virtuous woman, and yet his expression remained utterly serious.

Feng Qing’s face turned black with anger as she shot Rong Ling a piercing look and said, "What’s there to see? Sparse eyebrows, soulless eyes, flat nose, thin lips, at a glance you don’t seem like anything good."

Her words were sharp and cutting, yet the man on horseback remained unfazed, lazily responding, "Oh."

With that, he moved, his horse moving as well, and in the blink of an eye, he galloped to Feng Qing’s side. He leaned forward slightly, extended a long arm, and wrapped it around Feng Qing’s waist.

Feng Qing was shocked until the clear magnetic voice of the man above rang out, "How about taking a closer look, young lady?"
