Chapter 2279: Customized Lover (14)

Chapter 2279: Chapter 2279: Customized Lover (14)

Chuzheng cursed softly, released Yin Xian, and quickly pushed aside the people blocking her path.

Yin Xian moved faster than Chuzheng, wrapping around the enemy’s knife just as he was about to strike.

The knife experienced a counterforce, unable to pierce the hostage he held, and the man was visibly shocked.

With the weapon controlled by Yin Xian, Chuzheng hesitated no longer and charged forward to deliver a kick.

"Ah!"

The crowd instinctively parted as the man was sent flying, crashing to the side.

"Clang—"

The man clutched his chest, attempting to get up.

"Hold him!"

Chuzheng ordered without addressing anyone specific.

Before the man could rise, he was suddenly pinned down by an enormous force on his shoulder rendering him powerless to resist.

He looked up, and behind him stood a three-meter high robot, its pupils illuminated with concentric rings of green light.

This...

Wasn’t this just a display piece?!

Why did it move!

"Are you okay?"

Fong Yan’s expression was still somewhat blank, seemingly unaware of what had transpired.

Until Chuzheng touched him, bringing him back to reality; he reached for his waist and his fingers were stained with blood.

Chuzheng looked down, seeing a slash had opened the clothing at his waist.

Bright crimson blood soaking into the white shirt.

In Chuzheng’s calm eyes, it was as if a layer of frost had formed, chillingly cold.

"Ah!"

Over there, someone suddenly screamed in agony.

The robot pinned the man to the ground and handed out a serious beating, the onlookers around covering their mouths in horror.

Many eyes focused on Chuzheng.

Her command to "hold him" wasn’t quiet; many people heard it.

People present mostly knew the robot was a display piece, supposedly in sleep mode—was she controlling it?

Who was she?

The man being pummeled by the robot could do nothing but scream and roar: "You will all face retribution, face retribution! You all must die, all must die!! All must go to hell, go to hell..."

"Do you know him?" Chuzheng pressed against Fong Yan’s wound.

Fong Yan shook his head: "Don’t know him."

"Oh."

"You will all die, all die, hahaha!!" The man’s voice grew sharper: "This hotel will be razed to the ground!! You all will die!!"

That final claim triggered panic.

"What?"

"What do you mean?"

"What does he mean razed to the ground?"

"Is he insane?"

The man lay on the ground, face contorted, eyes like a venomous snake: "There’s a bomb in the hotel, about to explode, you can’t escape, none of you can escape!"

"Ah!"

Upon hearing the news, everyone’s first instinct was to flee.

The luxuriously dressed people cared not for their image, rushing towards the elevators in panic.

But no matter how they pressed, the elevators wouldn’t respond.

The exit to the safety passage was locked.

Even the hotel staff were too terrified to remember to try stopping the chaos.

Chuzheng escorted Fong Yan to a safe area, grabbed the microphone from the stage: "Everyone be quiet!"

The mic was loud, but it couldn’t calm the crowd.

They had only one thought now: it’s about to explode here!

"Make them quiet down." Chuzheng commanded the robot.

The robot tossed the powerless man aside and strode towards the crowd.

The three-meter robot casually grabbed people like they were baby chicks, quickly making its way down the corridor, clearing those clustered at the elevator doors.

As people latched onto it, the robot jabbed with its fingers, shocking them into painful yelps before they collapsed onto the ground.

Intimidated by the robot, the crowd started retreating inward.

Chuzheng held the microphone: "Can you hear me now?"

The scene suddenly quieted.

Everyone looked at the person standing on the stage.

A young girl in simple casual outfit, her golden seaweed-like long hair strikingly conspicuous even in the absence of spotlight; she commanded attention regardless.

"Somebody get me a medical kit."

"..."

"Hurry up!"

A slightly quicker-reacting hotel staff member brought over a medical kit.

The three-meter robot stomped loudly over to Chuzheng, blocking the view ahead.

"I’m fine, let’s handle first..."

"Tend the wound first."

Fong Yan considered the wound trivial: "There might be a bomb here, it’s dangerous."

"You won’t die, why be scared." Chuzheng pressed Fong Yan, fiercely: "Don’t move."

Fong Yan: "..."

The warmth of Chuzheng’s body mirrored a normal human’s; when her fingers touched Fong Yan’s skin, he felt a mix of itching and heat.

The pain in the wound seemingly smoothed away.

The sensation was very peculiar...

Fong Yan’s body stiffened slightly: "I can do it myself..."

Chuzheng more fiercely: "Shut up."

"..."

Fong Yan redirected his focus to the three-meter tall robot, sinking deeper in thought.

Chuzheng found commanding a robot embarrassingly easy, but such a thing must remain secret from others...

-

Intimidated by the robot, the crowd stayed eerily quiet for only a moment.

Survival instinct promptly roused them into renewed clamor, although less chaotic than before.

Some cried for help, some wept, while others kept fidgeting with the elevator and emergency exit.

"No way, all signals are jammed!"

"Same here! Can’t get through."

"There’s no way to contact people outside, what now?"

"Are we really going to die here?"

"He must have a way!"

Someone pointed at the man in the corner, face swollen and bruised.

"You think I’ll tell you?" Even black and blue, the man mustered a sneer: "In your dreams! Just wait to die!"

Chuzheng finished tending Fong Yan’s wound, glanced around the hotel, seeing efforts to evacuate—likely because they couldn’t reach anyone on the twelfth floor, quite a few were heading here.

A man was dragged forth, being interrogated about how to escape.

Chuzheng ignored them, instead declaring into the microphone: "Open doors, let women and children go first; exit only through the emergency passage. Anyone who causes trouble will meet the same fate as the people on the ground."

The people on the ground were those electrocuted unconscious by the robot...

The crowd swallowed hard, involuntarily stepping back.

Some challenged: "Who the hell are you! Why should we listen to you!"

"Zzzzzz..."

The three-meter tall robot raised its hand and discharged electricity.

Challenges instantly ceased.

Chuzheng instructed the robot to clear a path, guarding the emergency exit.

The crowd quieted for a few seconds, soon women and children were pushed to the front.

The emergency exit doors were electronically locked, yet Chuzheng easily unlocked them; with a robot guarding, others dared not act out.

"You..." the man on the ground struggled to rise, unclear about his intentions.

Chuzheng marched over and knocked him out with a swift kick.

The crowd: "..."

Goddamn!

The young girl exuded chill as she fiercely scolded: "What are you looking at? Hurry up and leave—waiting for someone to collect bodies?"

"..."

So fierce.

The crowd began leaving in sequence, still somewhat rowdy yet orderly enough.

The twelfth floor housed a banquet hall; the door Chuzheng opened was specially designed as an exit for the hall, avoiding contact with crowds from other floors, speeding up their descent.
