Chapter 1279: Chapter 1279:- Reckless
By the time Aditya returned to the Anti-Emperor Faction’s camp, he barely had any stamina left. His entire body was hurting, and he was so tired that even taking a few steps had become difficult for him.
Although the first day of the war had finally come to an end, Aditya was in no condition to celebrate his victory.
In total, he had spent less than forty minutes on the battlefield. However, what he had accomplished during those forty minutes was something that no one could easily ignore.
The Emperor Faction had brought an army of approximately four hundred thousand soldiers to the battlefield. Out of those four hundred thousand soldiers, Aditya alone had killed more than two hundred thousand.
In other words, he had single-handedly wiped out more than half of the enemy’s entire army in less than forty minutes. This was an achievement that even the most experienced generals and commanders would find difficult to believe, much less even think of achieving it by themselves.
Normally, defeating an army of such size would require thousands of soldiers, careful planning, and several hours of continuous fighting. Even then, there was no guarantee that one side would be able to kill so many enemies.
Yet Aditya had accomplished all of this almost entirely through his own strength. His overwhelming speed, powerful flames, and various other abilities had allowed him to kill an enormous number of enemy soldiers within a very short time.
And that was not even everything he had done. After forcing the enemy army to retreat, Aditya had fought against Andris, one of the Thirteen National Treasures of the Celestial Dragon Empire.
Despite being only a Beginner Sixth Order cultivator, he had managed to defeat and kill a Beginner Seventh Order cultivator who was famous for his overwhelming physical strength. Of course, that victory had come at a terrible price.
Almost every bone in Aditya’s body had suffered some form of injury. Several of his ribs were fractured in multiple places, and his arms and legs were not in much better condition. Even though his powerful physique had already begun slowly recovering from the damage, the injuries were far too serious to disappear within a short time.
Furthermore, he had used an enormous amount of mana and stamina during the battle. Between fighting hundreds of thousands of soldiers and facing a powerful Seventh Order cultivator, Aditya had pushed his body close to its limit.
Although he had only been fighting for less than forty minutes, the amount of energy he had used during that time was enormous. At this moment, Aditya was more exhausted than he had been in a very long time.
His body felt unusually heavy, and he could barely keep his eyes open. All he wanted was to lie down somewhere comfortable and sleep. After returning to the camp, Aditya did not bother speaking to anyone or asking about the situation on the battlefield.
He knew that his grandfather, Lou Han, and the others were more than capable of handling the remaining matters. Right now, he simply wanted to rest. With that thought in mind, Aditya slowly made his way toward his personal tent.
The moment he entered, he immediately noticed the large bed that had been prepared for him on the floor. Usually, Aditya would have taken off his shoes, changed his clothes, and cleaned himself before lying down.
However, he was far too exhausted to care about any of those things. He did not even bother removing his shoes. Still wearing his damaged and bloodstained clothes, Aditya walked toward the bed and carefully lowered himself onto it. Even this simple movement caused pain to spread through his injured body.
’Finally...!’ Aditya let out a long, tired sigh as his head touched the pillow. The soft bed felt incredibly comfortable after everything he had experienced on the battlefield. For a brief moment, he considered getting up and changing his clothes. However, that thought disappeared almost immediately.
’I’ll deal with everything after waking up.’ With that final thought, Aditya closed his eyes. Within a few seconds, he had already fallen into a deep sleep. His exhaustion was so great that he did not even have the energy to think about anything else.
For the first time in a long while, the Dragon Monarch was finally resting. Even way before the war started or the Ren declared when the war was going to start, Aditya has been working non-stop. Most of his time was either spent on training or using his Runes to craft something new.
Meanwhile, a few minutes later, several familiar figures arrived outside Aditya’s tent. Athena, Lilith, Shasha, Riya, Freya, Rin, and Amelia had all come to check on him.
Although Athena had already accompanied Aditya back to the camp, she had briefly left him alone to take care of a few matters. After finishing those matters, she immediately gathered the other girls and brought them to his tent.
After all, everyone was extremely worried about his condition. They had already seen what had happened during his battle against Andris. Although Aditya had emerged victorious, the injuries he had suffered were extremely serious.
Naturally, none of them could feel completely relaxed without seeing him for themselves.
However, the moment the girls entered the tent, they were greeted by a rather unexpected sight. Aditya was already lying on his bed. His shoes were still on, his clothes were covered in dried blood and dust, and his hair was in a complete mess.
He had not even bothered to cover himself with a blanket. He was simply lying there, completely motionless. Seeing this, Rin’s expression immediately changed.
"Aditya...?" She quickly approached the bed.
When Aditya did not respond, Rin became even more worried.
"Wait! Why isn’t he moving?" Rin asked nervously.
For a moment, she feared that Aditya might have fallen unconscious because of his injuries. After all, she knew that he had suffered several serious fractures and had lost a considerable amount of blood during the battle.
What if his condition had suddenly become worse after returning to the camp? What if he had collapsed before he could ask anyone for help? These thoughts immediately appeared in her mind.
Rin quickly moved closer and was about to call his name again when Athena gently stopped her.
"Don’t worry. He’s fine." Athena said calmly.
Rin immediately turned toward her. "Are you sure?"
Athena nodded. "Yes. He’s just sleeping."
To make sure that everyone understood, Athena carefully checked Aditya’s breathing and the condition of his body. Although his breathing was still somewhat shallow because of his injured ribs, it was steady.
His mana was also circulating normally, and there were no signs that his condition had suddenly become worse.
After confirming this, Athena looked toward the others. "He’s completely exhausted. It seems he fell asleep the moment he reached his bed."
Hearing this, Rin finally breathed a sigh of relief. The other girls also visibly relaxed. Although they were still worried about Aditya’s injuries, knowing that he was simply sleeping made them feel much better.
Freya, who had been standing near the entrance, slowly shook her head. "Jeez, I seriously cannot believe just how reckless this man is." Freya said with a small smile.
She then let out a long sigh of relief. "He’s constantly making us worry about one thing or another. Just when I think he can’t possibly do anything more dangerous, he somehow finds another way to surprise us."
Although Freya sounded as though she was complaining, there was no real anger in her voice. She was simply relieved that Aditya was still alive and not in any immediate danger. After all, even though she was the Goddess of War and enjoyed powerful battles, watching someone she loved suffer such terrible injuries was an entirely different matter.
Freya loved fighting, but that did not mean she enjoyed seeing Aditya nearly get himself killed.
"Well, that’s how he is." Riya replied with a gentle smile.
The Goddess of Nature slowly approached Aditya’s bed. "He has always been like this. Whenever he believes something needs to be done, he doesn’t hesitate to put himself in danger."
Riya then sat down beside Aditya. Looking at his blood-covered face and damaged clothes, she could not help but feel a little sad. Even though Aditya was extremely powerful, he was still someone who could get hurt.
And seeing him in such a terrible condition made her heart ache. Without wasting any more time, Riya gently placed her hands near his chest and began using her healing abilities.
A soft green light immediately appeared around her hands. The gentle light slowly spread across Aditya’s body as Riya began healing his injuries. Her healing power entered his body and started repairing the damaged bones, muscles, and other injured areas.
However, because Aditya had suffered so many fractures, healing him completely would require some time. Riya carefully controlled the amount of healing energy she was using.
She did not want to disturb his sleep by suddenly forcing too much energy into his body.
Instead, she allowed the healing process to begin slowly, making sure that his injuries were being treated properly.
