Chapter 96: Chapter 96: The Major General’s Deterrent Power
"What do you mean?" The Tiger-faced King’s heart stirred. The tribe also had plans to upgrade Mechas, though they primarily used Biological Mechas and Energy Armor.
However, upgrading a third-generation Mecha wouldn’t be a problem; it simply meant adding some extra attributes to it.
"Your Majesty, you might want to consider this. Next time, we can speak clearly with this jinx. Then he can earn money for himself, and we can completely destroy our neighbors. Besides, just one jinx won’t bring much help to the Alliance.
"This jinx behaves bizarrely. Unlike those bastards from the Alliance who come looking for trouble right away, this guy is universally despised by the humans. If we enhance his strength, his style of doing things will become even more obnoxious. Once his identity is exposed someday, you can extend a helping hand to save him. Wouldn’t he become one of our people then?"
Hearing this, the Tiger-faced King was deeply tempted. Adding some special attributes to a third-generation Mecha wouldn’t cost much. If this jinx was universally despised in the human world, he likely had personality issues—and it wasn’t as if the Alliance lacked heinous criminals.
Building a good relationship with him first would not only help them eliminate their current neighbors, but it would also give him a great alternative to join them if he could no longer survive in the Alliance.
"Your Majesty, it’s best if we get on his good side first and gather some basic information. If that doesn’t work, we can just find someone to frame him. The Alliance doesn’t know our true background anyway. We could frame him and get him sent to prison, and then we’d swoop in to rescue him.
"There are many organizations and agencies in the Alliance that handle these kinds of things. They only care about money, and we have plenty of rare materials. It’s not like we haven’t interacted with those organizations before. Framing or saving someone is quite simple," the Tiger-faced King’s subordinate continued.
"I’ll think about it." The Tiger-faced King was very tempted.

Meanwhile, Yang Bo had no idea he was being targeted by a group of Mutants, let alone that their identities were quite complex.
However, if he had known, he might have actually been delighted. Yang Bo had absolutely no emotional attachment to the Alliance. To him, surviving was the same everywhere. He had already prepared a Pirate identity just in case he couldn’t make it in the Alliance, so joining the Mutants wasn’t out of the question.
Given the current state of the Alliance, he wanted to immigrate to another country as soon as possible. Even the military had been infiltrated by extremists. What kind of nonsense was that?
Yang Bo knew very little about the upper-level hierarchy and military organizational structure of the entire Alliance.
Although he had already familiarized himself with the surrounding terrain, time constraints prevented him from exploring further. Instead, he relied more on eavesdropping on people’s conversations to gather information, especially things he could never have accessed with his former resident status.
"It’s somewhat similar to Mei on Earth," he thought. "The planets within this Alliance are essentially controlled by major families. In my past life, the various states in the United States also had their respective prominent families that influenced every aspect of the state."
That day, Yang Bo took advantage of the guards’ mealtime to wander out using his Invisibility. This time, he strolled to the Mecha warehouse and the Warplane hangar. In the past, the Warplanes had looked tiny in the sky, but up close, these things were actually much larger than the fighter jets on Earth.
The Mechas and Warplanes on this Warship were divided into manned and unmanned categories. The reason some Warplanes and Mechas required manual piloting was that their electronic defense capabilities were very low—at least, low compared to a Warship.
Unfortunately, none of this equipment was currently in use. Yang Bo really wanted to touch them to see if he could gain authorization, but decided against it after some thought. Seeing that it was almost time, he quickly left the area.
Just as he arrived at the cafeteria, Yang Bo noticed that everyone inside was standing together. A Major General with golden stars on his shoulders was giving a speech.
When Yang Bo peeked in while still under his Invisibility, he saw the Major General turn his head to look in his direction. Terrified, Yang Bo immediately pulled his head back and hurried away.
"Holy shit." Yang Bo ducked into a storage room near a corridor guarded by soldiers, feeling as if his heart was about to pound out of his chest. He didn’t know what kind of Superpower that Major General had, but the man had almost seen right through him.
"A Sixth Sense Superpower? Or perhaps a Spiritual Power Superpower?" Yang Bo couldn’t be sure. The world was vast, and the variety of Superpowers was endless. Invisibility was a powerful ability, but he guessed there had to be something that countered it. It was impossible for it to have no weaknesses.
"Everyone must be careful during this mission. We will enter the mission airspace in two days. At that time, we will go into maximum alert, and the residents will not be allowed to go outside.
"Do you understand?" the Major General said in the cafeteria.
"Understood," thousands of soldiers replied in unison below. Based on their uniforms, they were Mecha Masters, Warplane Pilots, and various other personnel.
A Warship was constructed unit by unit, with each unit possessing its own independent backup system. This way, even if the center of the Warship was hit, the entire vessel wouldn’t lose its combat effectiveness.
Given the sheer length of a Warship, it was essentially composed of individual combat units, complete with their own Energy supply and Weapon systems. This design prevented the ship from being completely paralyzed by a single enemy strike. Additionally, there was another advantage: once a battle ended, the destroyed sections could be discarded, and the remaining parts could be reassembled to restore combat capability.
After finishing his speech, the Major General frowned slightly. He clearly felt a presence just now, but then it vanished. Was the pressure of this mission getting to him?
Thinking about the mission, the Major General rubbed his forehead. An S-level secret mission—a classification second only to an all-out war with an enemy nation. He had no idea what this secret mission actually entailed. He had only received orders to proceed to the mission airspace and didn’t have the clearance to know the details. The only information he received was that they were to escort an item back to the Alliance’s supreme military research base. Aside from that, there was absolutely nothing.
"Could they have discovered an S-level Mutant Creature?" he wondered. Leaving this combat unit and heading to the next, he thought about the mission area, and an unbelievable idea suddenly popped into his head.
The Major General was technically the combat officer of this Warship, not its Captain.
As for his earlier feeling that someone was there, he didn’t delve into it any further.
The internal security system of the Warship was the most advanced in human history, capable of detecting 100% of all known Energy. Of course, there was no way to detect the unknown. Even a Main Battle Ship like this would sometimes suffer mysterious collisions in deep space.
It was just like on Earth—humans felt they had plenty of detection methods, yet many times, meteorites were only discovered after they had already breached Earth’s atmosphere.
As for why they went unnoticed, perhaps scientists would discover the reasons through continuous exploration.
