Interstellar Era: Starting As a Cleaner

Chapter 100: Start Farming Electric Eels

Chapter 100: Chapter 100: Start Farming Electric Eels

Yang Bo quickly took off his clothes, put on his Energy Armor, and took out his Energy Weapon.

"Wow, the quality of my Battle Armor seems to have improved." Yang Bo couldn’t understand why his Battle Armor’s quality had increased during the spatial jump. Was it because he kept it in a special spatial storage? If that was the case, didn’t that mean he had hit the jackpot? Other people struggled desperately to upgrade their Energy Armors, but his could be upgraded just by taking a Spaceship!

He gave a short whistle. Instantly, Yang Bo activated his Invisibility and hid beside the escape pod. More than ten seconds later, a person covered in colorful patterns appeared in front of him. This person also seemed to be wearing Battle Armor, but its color blended perfectly with the surrounding tall grass, much like a Chameleon. The newcomer was rather hideous. He had no hair on his head, which instead seemed to be covered by a hard keratin layer. He also had a protruding forehead and a jutting mouth.

Despite his ugly appearance, he held an Energy Weapon that emitted a faint blue glow. The man’s nose twitched a couple of times. He then looked down and skillfully pulled a box of supplies from the escape pod. Opening it to take a look, he grinned, clearly satisfied.

Yang Bo didn’t make a move. What this guy just took was merely the life supplies from the escape pod.

"Is this the planet where the Mecha game is set?" Yang Bo wondered, watching the man’s retreating back. He had felt a sense of familiarity when he saw the guy earlier, and then he remembered seeing information about this type of Mutants in the game. He used an electric current to destroy the entire escape pod again. Even though it had already been damaged by the mutant once, he figured this thing might still be recording data.

Looking at the tall grass around him now, Yang Bo felt a sense of familiarity. He knew exactly where he was. No wonder the tall grass had looked so familiar earlier.

"Did such a good thing really fall into my lap?" This stroke of luck came so suddenly that Yang Bo still couldn’t quite believe it. In the game, whenever he killed a small animal, he would be reprimanded by a bunch of people. But now that he was actually on this planet, he could grind as much as he wanted, especially for a few specific Skills. Electric Energy Control and Invisibility—he absolutely had to grind these two up to the Grandmaster Level.

Yang Bo recalled the scenery he had seen from the escape pod as it descended, realizing that he had probably never been to this specific area before.

"It doesn’t matter. I’ll take my time. I’ll find a place with water first, then look for electric eels to see if their Electric Energy is stronger than mine." Yang Bo decided to search for water first. Thinking back, he remembered seeing what looked like a body of water in a certain direction.

Just then, Yang Bo heard a noise and immediately activated his Invisibility again. Another mutant had appeared, and this one was carrying a different supply box in his hand. This mutant inspected the escape pod, cursed under his breath, and prepared to leave.

The next second, the mutant saw a dark blur flash before his eyes. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was a weapon that had pierced through the back of his head and exited through the bridge of his nose. Then, his vision went completely black.

Mecha Maintenance +4.

"What... what is this?" Yang Bo was instantly dumbfounded, as stiff as Flax. What the hell was this? A mutant actually knew how to repair a Mecha?

However, Yang Bo also knew that due to his own physical limitations, he couldn’t acquire many of the Mutants’ Superpowers. In other words, his constitution or genetics simply weren’t compatible with certain Mutants’ Superpowers.

Yang Bo collected a small biological sample from the corpse and quickly left the scene. For the time being, it was impossible for him to transform into this mutant. After all, Warplanes were flying back and forth in the sky above. Being spotted by those Warplanes would be no laughing matter. But that was fine. It looked like the Alliance Fleet had the upper hand, though he still had no idea what was actually going on.

Yang Bo walked for a while in the direction of the water. Wearing his Battle Armor, navigating through the tall grass was no problem at all. He even whistled a tune as he walked. Perhaps due to the presence of the Warplanes, the Mutants no longer showed up in the vicinity.

Upon reaching a river, Yang Bo leaped down into it.

"So refreshing." He felt incredibly comfortable in the water, much more so than he had on the grassy plains. The moment he dove in, he could sense the direction of the current and gather a wealth of information, such as the sound of fish swimming nearby and the vibrations their movements produced. He felt like a living sensor, able to detect everything within a radius of several hundred meters. Gathering his strength, Yang Bo began to swim toward the distant lake.

Yang Bo felt completely at ease in the water. This was the effect of being a Grandmaster Swimmer, which even allowed him to breathe underwater.

Suddenly, Yang Bo sensed movement ahead. It wasn’t a fish; it felt like a person. To verify his senses, Yang Bo quickly swam toward the target. The other party perhaps sensed his presence as well and unexpectedly stopped.

At a distance of fifty meters, Yang Bo halted. He looked at the mutant in the distance. This mutant was covered in a layer of scales and was also wearing Battle Armor. The mutant was equally surprised to see Yang Bo. Although Yang Bo was currently protected by his Battle Armor, it was obvious at a glance that he was not a mutant.

The mutant let out a sinister smile. Gripping two Energy Weapons, he charged directly at Yang Bo.

In the next second, the mutant began to violently shudder in the water. He convulsed before finally going stiff and floating lifelessly. Quite a few fish around him also floated belly-up.

Mecha Maintenance +4!

What left Yang Bo speechless was that this guy also dropped a Mecha Maintenance Skill. Why didn’t he give him a water-related Superpower? Could it be that his physical body was truly incompatible with these Superpowers? The mutant was also carrying two escape pod supply boxes. Yang Bo had no idea why these people were lugging around these supply boxes, but they were entirely useless to him.

Yang Bo quickly left the area. Half an hour later, he reached the lake.

"An electric eel." Shortly after entering the lake, Yang Bo sensed an electric eel hiding near the shore about twenty meters away. He quickly approached it. Just as he closed the distance to within a few meters, a powerful surge of Electric Energy struck him. Yang Bo only felt a refreshing tingle. Other than that, the attack had no effect on him whatsoever. He straightforwardly drew his Energy Weapon and hacked the electric eel to death.

Electric Energy Control +2.

"Not bad, not bad. Let’s keep going," Yang Bo thought. He didn’t care where he was right now; as long as he could grind his Skills, anywhere was fine. He swam swiftly through the lake, closing in and killing the electric eels one by one.

When these electric eels sensed his approach, they didn’t flee. Instead, they took the initiative to swim up and attack him with electricity. Perhaps these electric eels thought they were incredibly strong, but they were just serving themselves up on a silver platter.

This lake wasn’t very large. Two hours later, Yang Bo could no longer find any trace of electric eels, so he continued swimming downstream along the lake’s current.

Yang Bo thought, "This lake is too small.

"Is there any way I can fly up to the sky to take a look?

"Never mind, the sky isn’t safe. It’s best to stay down here. I wonder how Iron Bull is doing over there. It would be great if I could go check on him, but I have no idea where I even am right now."
